This set the borders of modern Turkey:
The Treaty of Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland, 24 July 1923.
Officially settled conflict between the Ottoman Empire, France, British Empire, Italy, Japan, Greece, and Romania.
Ataturk had recently expelled the Sultan. The Treaty of Lausanne recognized the victory and replaced the Treaty of Sevres.
There is said to be a secret part to the treaty, setting an expiration date in 2023. CFR's Foreign Policy Magazine says the existence of a secret expiration is a conspiracy theory.
Turkish optimists say Ataturk could have held on to Thrace and Mosul.
Erik Prince said in the audio tape, speaking of the Treaty, that Turkey wants Northern Syria, Northern Iraq, Kurds GTFO, and some of Greece. He says a major redraw of the map may be imminent.
