Former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke several times in recent days with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel, reportedly behind the back of his successor Naftali Bennett, as he continues his push to have a third coronavirus vaccine dose administered to Israelis.
Netanyahu’s Likud party initially leaked details of the conversations to several Hebrew media outlets on Wednesday, which reported that the calls took place without Bennett’s knowledge. Netanyahu’s office later issued a statement saying the pharmaceutical executives updated him on their vaccine supply and on the spread of the Delta variant.
The premier-turned-opposition leader said he concluded that Israel needs millions more doses and to “immediately” begin administering booster shots to adults.
“This is the only way to protect the population, to save lives and to keep the economy open in light of the outbreak of the Delta variant,” Netanyahu said in a video statement.
Pfizer has been seeking FDA authorization for a third shot, though the US regulator and Israeli health officials have said there is no evidence boosters are needed at this time. Israel is currently offering a third dose to the immunocompromised.
For weeks, Netanyahu has insisted that third doses are necessary immediately, but some analysts have questioned if the position is more rooted in his desire to distance himself from the new government’s policies on the pandemic.
In a video released on his social media channels on July 1, Netanyahu declared that “from conversations I’ve had with some of the best experts in the world, I believe the third vaccine [dose] should be given to the over-50 population starting in August, in order to finish the task by the end of September.
Israel’s successful vaccination campaign was rolled out during Netanyahu’s tenure, after he secured agreements that made Israel the world-leading country on COVID immunizations. The longtime premier was removed from power last month.

Israeli Missile Strikes in Northern Syria Kill Five
Syria reports most missiles intercepted
Details are emerging on Israel’s overnight missile strikes against Syria’s north. The strikes reportedly killed five people, two Syrians and three non-Syrians, and destroyed a military base near Aleppo.
Syrian state media confirmed the attacks, and said that their defense systems intercepted most of the incoming missiles. They added that overall damage done in the strikes is still being assessed.
The Syrian military said the missiles were aimed at several locations in the area. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed those included a weapons depot which they accused of being “pro-Iranian.”
This area near Aleppo is along the frontier between Syrian government territory and an enclave occupied by Turkish-backed rebels. Though Israel attacks Syrian military sites regularly, it is unusual for them to do so this far north.
As is almost always the case, the Israeli military refused to comment on the attack, saying that they do not address military strikes which were initially reported in foreign media.

China Says CIA Has Hacked Beijing for Over a Decade
Beijing denied claims from the US and its allies that China was behind a cyberattack on a Microsoft server
Beijing on Tuesday pushed back against accusations from the US and its allies that China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) was responsible for a series of cyberattacks, including the hack of the Microsoft Exchange Server, which was discovered earlier this year.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said the claims against the MSS were “fabricated” and repeated accusations China has made against the CIA. Zhao cited a 2020 Chinese cybersecurity report that accused the CIA of hacking critical Chinese infrastructure for an 11-year period, between 2008 and 2019. The report used data from WikiLeaks’ Vault 7 releases that revealed hacking tools used by the CIA.
“China once again strongly demands that the United States and its allies stop cyber theft and attacks against China, stop throwing mud at China on cybersecurity issues and withdraw the so-called prosecution,” Zhao said. “China will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard China’s cybersecurity and interests.”
The US was joined by many of its allies when it accused Beijing of being behind the Microsoft hack, including the UK, the EU, and most notably, NATO. Before Monday, NATO had not involved itself in accusations over China’s alleged cyber activities. The military alliance recently added cyberattacks to the list of reasons to invoke NATO’s Article 5 mutual defense clause.
Similar to US hacking accusations against Russia, no evidence was offered to prove the MSS was involved in the Microsoft hack. When the intrusion was first announced in March, Microsoft said it determined with “high confidence” that a group name Hafnium was responsible, which Microsoft assessed to be “state-sponsored and operating out of China.” Backing up Microsoft’s assessment, a US official told reporters that the US government assessed with “high confidence” that hackers affiliated with MSS were responsible.
The US Justice Department on Monday unsealed indictments against four Chinese nationals who allegedly coordinated a hacking campaign on behalf of the MSS between 2011 and 2018. The US hasn’t threatened additional actions yet, but the accusation could be used as a pretext for sanctions. The Biden administration has hit Russia with sanctions and expelled Russian diplomats over similar claims.

'Every Pole can see today that behind the ‘plandemic’ are the Jews,' the crowd chanted
An anti-vaccine protest that took place in Glogow, Poland, blamed Jews as being responsible for the start of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to the website Notes from Poland.
Those that took part in Monday's protest chanted: "Jews are behind the pandemic" and that they "rule the world."
“Every Pole can see today that behind the ‘plandemic’ are the Jews,” the crowd chanted together.
Polish police arrested three protesters at the site after engaging in confrontations, after participants were reportedly behaving aggressively towards them.
The American Jewish Committee office in Central Europe, and based in Warsaw, condemned the protest in a tweet.
The far-right Polish Confederation (Konfederacja) Party has notably partaken in many protests against COVID restrictions, and one of its followers shared a video saying that she "doesn't want Jewry in Poland."
Grzegorz Braun, one of the party's leaders, who reportedly has promoted many antisemitic conspiracy theories in the past, compared the requirement of wearing masks to how Jews were once forced to wear armbands when they were victims to the Nazi regime.
In 2019, one of the Confederation's leaders placed a kippah over another politician's head during a political debate and claimed the Polish government was "kneeling to Jews".

On July 20, 2021, the 39-year-old man arrived from Mexico at the Anzalduas International Bridge and a CBP officer immediately secured him after discovering Gomez was a possible match to an arrest warrant. Once in secondary, CBP officers confirmed his identity along with the active arrest warrant from San Juan Police Department. Gomez faces an outstanding arrest warrant on felony state charges of indecency with a child.
A McAllen Police Department officer and US Marshal deputy arrived to take custody of Gomez and transported him to the county jail.

As early as 2018 US State Department officials warned about safety risks at the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab on scientists conducting risky tests with the bat coronavirus.
US officials made several trips to the Wuhan laboratory.
Despite the warnings, the US National Institute of Health (NIH) under Dr. Anthony Fauci awarded a $3.7 million grant to the Wuhan lab studying the bat virus. This was after State Department warned about the risky tests going on in the lab.

The deadly China coronavirus that started in China sometime in late 2019 has now circled the globe. Evidence suggests that the coronavirus didn’t come naturally. We still don’t know whether the deadly virus was leaked intentionally or if it was an accident.
But a video has surfaced earlier this year from December 2019 of WHO official Peter Daszak admitting to coronavirus manipulation at the Wuhan Lab before the pandemic was announced.
The video interview was originally filmed on December 9, 2019. A copy was posted in May 2020.
The video was recorded at the Nipah Virus international conference in Singapore on December 9 and 10, 2019.
At 29:52 mark of the video the WHO official says, “coronaviruses are pretty good… you can manipulate them in the lab pretty easily… the spiked proteins drive a lot about what happens. You can get the sequence you can build the protein, we work with Ralph Baric at UNC to do this, insert into the backbone of another virus and do some work in a lab.”
But Democrats do not want the American public to know the truth. That would be damaging to their extensive propaganda network.
So this week House Democrats blocked a bill that would have released information on the origins of the pandemic to the public.

Texas Democrats said the moves by Republicans to ensure election integrity — such as implementing new voter identification requirements for people voting by mail and banning election officials from sending unsolicited mail ballot applications to voters — make it harder for minorities to vote.
With that, nearly 60 Texas Democrats chartered two private planes to the nation's capital about a week ago, effectively denying the state legislature the two-thirds quorum needed to conduct official business. Abbott declared the Democratic lawmakers would be arrested once they return to Texas.
While the left endlessly celebrated the lawmakers' self-described freedom-fighting field trip, some rather unanticipated consequences resulted — such as COVID-19 cases among them. But what do they expect after not wearing masks on their flights like their constituents have to, correct?

What's more, it turns out the fleeing Democrats' attempt at political theater will do little more than cost them a ton of money.
Texas state Rep. Armando Walle (D) told NBC News the trip will have cost about $1.5 million by the time they all are done with the stunt in early August.
"Walle said the pair of private charter jets the majority of legislators took to Washington cost more than $100,000, while housing, food and other transportation costs will make up the bulk of other expenses," NBC News reported.
And while the Texas House Democratic Caucus pledged that taxpayers won't be on the hook for the lawmakers' D.C. trip, the special session they're abandoning can cost taxpayers over $1 million since it looks to be a wasted meeting with no official business being done.

Two members of Dubai’s royal family were selected as potential targets for spyware made by Israeli cyberespionage firm NSO Group, the Project Pegasus international investigation revealed Wednesday.
The revelations are part of a global investigation called The Pegasus Project, based on a leak of some 50,000 numbers selected as potential targets of the Pegasus spyware by clients of NSO.
A probe into the trove of leaked phone numbers led the Washington Post to numbers belonging to Princess Latifa bint Mohammed al-Maktoum and Princess Haya bint Hussein – the daughter and sixth wife, respectively, of Dubai ruler and United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Additional phone numbers belonging to their friends and associates were also found on the database.
Princess Latifa fled her father on a yacht she had chartered from the UAE in 2018. She was eventually recaptured off the coast of India and taken back to Dubai. The princess had claimed she had been subjected to inhuman treatment by her father, including beatings and solitary confinement.

Border Patrol Sounds COVID Alarm as 40 Agents Test Positive in Texas Sector
More than 40 Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents tested positive for COVID-19 recently, including five who became hospitalized, Chief Patrol Agent Brian Hastings told a local radio station. The chief’s comments come as officials report a 900 percent increase in July for the number of migrants testing positive.
Rio Grande Sector Chief Patrol Agent Brian Hastings told KURV radio in McAllen, Texas, that more than 40 of his agents tested positive for COVID-19 so far this year, Fox News reported. His announcement comes amid a spike in the number of migrants apprehended in this sector who are testing positive for the virus.
Just during the first two weeks in July, 135 migrants being detained tested positive for the coronavirus. This marks a 900 percent increase over the previous 14 months, Fox News stated. This is just in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
On Saturday, Rio Grande City Station agents apprehended a group of nearly 300 migrants who illegally crossed the border in La Grulla, Texas, Breitbart Texas reported. During a medical screening in the field, one of the migrants exhibited symptoms of COVID-19. The agents arranged transportation to an area hospital where the migrant tested positive for the virus.
The Rio Grande Valley Sector remained the busiest sector for migrant apprehensions with more than 15,000 apprehended just last week, Chief Hastings tweeted.
This sector is consistently the busiest along the entire U.S.-Mexico Border, reports indicate. So far this fiscal year, agents in this sector apprehended 331,661 migrants, an increase of 461 percent over last year’s 59,083. Apprehensions in this sector account for nearly 31 percent of this year’s total of 1,076,242. The next closest sector in terms of apprehensions is the Del Rio Sector with nearly 150,000 apprehensions (an increase of more than 500 percent over last year).
So far this year, Rio Grande Valley Sector agents apprehended 131,380 family units, an increase of 1,283 over the same period last year. Other demographics included 154,604 single adults, a 265 percent increase, and 45,679 unaccompanied minors, an increase of 536 percent, according to the June Southwest Border Encounters Report released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Friday.

Border Patrol does not typically test migrants when they are initially taken into custody — instead they are tested when they are transferred, either to Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) custody if they are unaccompanied children, or to nongovernmental organizations if they are part of a family unit for transport into the U.S.

Currently, the majority of those encountered are turned back due to Title 42 public health protections put in place during the Trump administration. Just under 105,000 of those encounters in June resulted in a Title 42 expulsion.
Despite the spike in migrants testing positive for COVID-19, the Biden Administration is reportedly considering ending the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol put in place by the CDC during the Trump administration.
So far this fiscal year, Border Patrol agents used the Title 42 authority to expel more than 750,000 migrants, according to the CBP’s June Southwest Land Border encounters report, released on Friday.
A group of Republican senators sent a letter this week to President Joe Biden, warming that his ending of the Title 42 program would have a “dire impact on the crisis at the southern border.”
“Ending this order will have a dire impact on the crisis already engulfing our southwestern border,” the group of 26 senators wrote. “We urge you in the strongest possible terms not to take this action.”

Pentagon Hires Google-Funded Moonshot CVE to Spy On U.S. Military Members For 'Extremism'
The Pentagon under Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin hired a Google and George Soros-funded UK company that works in partnership with the Anti-Defamation League to spy on members of our military for "extremism."

The Pentagon is reportedly working with an extremism analysis company that considers the web search "the truth about Black Lives Matter" and others to be signs of interest in or engagement with White supremacism.
According to Defense One, the contractor Moonshot CVE, which has ties to the Obama Foundation, is working on data that would identify which military bases and branches have the most troops searching for domestic extremist content. While that particular project's contours are unclear, the company previously released a June report, in conjunction with the left-leaning Anti-Defamation League, on purported "White supremacy trends in the United States." [Note: the ADL are far-right ethno-nationalist extremists when it comes to Israel.]
In it, the U.K.-based company said it "monitored a list of almost 1,600 indicators of interest in or engagement with White supremacism, focused specifically on anti-Black and anti-Semitic narratives being used by extremist groups."
As examples, it listed the search phrases "George Floyd deserved to die," "Jews will not replace us" and "the truth about black lives matter."
For "the truth about black lives matter," the group said: "This search suggests that the BLM movement has nefarious motives, and is a disinformation narrative perpetuated by White supremacist groups to weaponize anti-BLM sentiment."
It adds: "While the search phrase appears innocuous, several books include it in their title and allege that the BLM movement is 'joined with Antifa burning and looting.' These sources echo White supremacist disinformation narratives alleging that BLM protesters are trying to 'overthrow the republic' and 'harm American citizens in a Marxist coup,' as a means of delegitimizing it. Multiple videos on YouTube also promote these narratives – in particular the criminalization of BLM – using the identical phrase."
Moonshot is one of many new front groups that echoes the ADL's disinformation narratives that "white supremacists are the greatest terror threat" in order to criminalize speech they deem "hate" and delegitimize Western people's right to exercise self-determination in their own countries.
Moonshot gets funding from Google, Facebook, Twitter, George Soros' Open Society Foundation and more.
They're being inundated with cash and expanding into Ireland and throughout Europe.

Philip Morris' CEO Defends Inhaler Producer Purchase Despite Harsh Criticism
When tobacco company Philip Morris International made a $1.2 billion offer on July 9 to buy England-based Vectura Group, a pharmaceutical company that develops inhaled therapies for the treatment of respiratory diseases, it was widely expected that questions and concerns would immediately follow.
The London Times noted that Britain’s Secretary of State for Business and anti-smoking groups questioned why the company would want to “develop therapies to treat some of the very lung diseases Philip Morris’ products cause.”
Sir Edward Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats, said it was “totally wrong” that Philip Morris would seek to profit from conditions such as asthma and serious lung disease.
Appearing Wednesday on CNBC’s “Closing Bell,” Philip Morris CEO Jacek Olczak defended the company’s decision.
“We can stand still and continue selling cigarettes or we can do something with the science and the technology at least to significantly reduce the harm created by smoking,” Olczak said. “I believe what we’re doing is absolutely right… Nothing and nobody will stop us in our transformations to leave smoking behind.
Olczak's comments come after Philip Morris issued a press release about the acquisition that stated they were committed to the science to help Vectura with a long-term vision.
“The market for inhaled therapeutics is large and growing rapidly, with significant potential for expansion into new application areas,” the company said. “PMI has the commitment to science and the financial resources to empower Vectura’s skilled team to execute on an ambitious long-term vision. Together, PMI and Vectura can lead this global category, bringing benefits to patients, to consumers, to public health and to society-at-large.”
Over the years, Philip Morris has sought to reinvent its image. The company announced plans to generate 50% of its revenue from smoke-free products by 2025, with a goal of earning $1 billion from its “Beyond Nicotine” campaign.
“We understand that a complete and successful transformation is one that allows our company’s business to move from a value proposition, centered on doing less harm, toward one where we can have a net positive impact on society,” the company’s website said of the “Beyond Nicotine” campaign.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) anticipates that it will sell $2.5 billion in COVID vaccines this year despite concerns that have mounted over the shot since its rollout.
The company made the announcement as it released its second-quarter earning report early Wednesday morning.
Johnson & Johnson reported a sales growth of 27.1% to $23.2 billion for the quarter with an operational growth of 23% for the quarter with an earnings per share increase of 72.8% to $2.35. Revenue for the company was $22.21 billion.
Global sales of the COVID vaccine for the quarter reached $164 million.
Premarket trading of Johnson & Johnson’s shares was up nearly 1%.
The earnings report came just a day after the release of a new study, which has not been peer-reviewed, that suggests the company’s vaccine is not as effective against the Delta and Lambda variants as previously thought. Researchers of the study recommend a booster dose for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine recipients.
However, Johnson & Johnson has released its own data that indicates that the vaccine is effective against the Delta variant, specifically against severe disease and hospitalizations for up to eight months after receiving the shot.

Last year St. Louis City saw its highest homicide rate in 50 years.
But after little to no action by Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, state officials passed legislation to allow the state attorney general to take over homicide cases in St. Louis after 90 days if Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner hasn’t filed charges or upon request from the “chief law enforcement officer.”
Gardner has been a complete disaster for the City of St. Louis.
The Soros-funded Circuit attorney rejected several open-and-shut cases due to the fact that she believed local police officers were racists.
Gardner released all of the protesters and looters in 2020 after the deadly George Floyd riots in St. Louis.

The Lead St. Louis Prosecutor resigned on Tuesday after she learned someone in Gardner’s St. Louis office forged her signature on at least 20 cases while she was out on maternity leave.

Someone signed the name of St. Louis’ lead homicide prosecutor onto at least 20 cases while she was on maternity leave earlier this year – and she resigned Tuesday, the I-Team has learned.
Kim Arshi began her maternity leave May 10. But her electronic signature appears on 28 cases in court documents listing her as the lead prosecutor – even though she was not in the office and did not sign them herself, according to a source familiar with the cases.
Arshi declined to comment. St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s office has not yet responded to a request for comment.
The I-Team reported on one of the cases Tuesday for which Arshi was entered on after her maternity leave began.
Arshi was a no-show for three hearings on the case.

Fiji's worsening COVID-19 outbreak claims two pregnant women
Two pregnant woman have died from COVID-19 in Fiji as part of a worsening outbreak over the last week.

Seventeen personnel from Australia and New Zealand travelled to Fiji last week to work with health authorities and stop the spread of the virus
The country's Health Secretary James Fong said the women presented to hospital in a serious condition.
"Both women had been unwell at home with COVID symptoms before presenting to health facilities in severe respiratory distress," he said.
Doctors then made the decision to perform emergency surgery.
Emergency caesarean sections were performed to rescue the babies and assist with the care of the mothers.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of the attending physicians, both mothers passed away," he said.
"However, the fast actions of the obstetrics team saved both babies."
Pregnant women have been facing anxiety and fear as the pandemic has put a strain on the health system, causing uncertainty about where to get maternal care.
Delta variant rips through Fiji
Twenty-one people have died from COVID-19 in Fiji over the last seven days, and Dr Fong said the mothers' deaths highlight the severity of the problem.
"Maternal deaths due to COVID-19 are a clear indication of the severity of this outbreak," Dr Fong said.
Fiji has recorded 1,054 new COVID-19 cases in the latest reporting period, and 12 new deaths.
