Z Special Unit was a spec ops force operating out of Australia in WW2. Not sure if they had any direct affiliation with the Coast Watchers who helped save JFK, but for some reason Jr. had their emblem tattood on his right arm.
I have a whole folder on Kennedy's time in WW2, plus his dead older brother, and some really interesting who's who kind of connections with generals and things. But I never could determine any direct link between his rescue and Z-special.
Could have been one of those boyhood things where Jr. may have heard some war stories that stuck with him, or met one of his dad's Navy buddies who made an impression, etc. You know how it is when you're a kid. Anyway the tat is a really interesting detail, I agree.
I've listened to quite a few of his podcasts, seems like an extremely straight shooter to me. Caution goes without saying however.

My only warning signal is I tend to be skeptical of people who are really really good talkers with smooth delivery. Been conditioned to think they are selling something I guess. But so far cannot really fault anything he has said.
