We let these for profit, church backed, medical institutions directly control our media reporting without any critical questions being asked.

Maybe its like this. God doesnt want you to seek pleasure, because to maintain balance in the system, an equal amount of pain in generated. So, if we could all figure out how to be okay being miserable, them somewhere in the system, pleasure is being generated, and God is good with that because you'll eventually accidentally get some pleasure by the laws of karma.
