A better question might be to ask what does the bible say?

What happened when the whole earth was corrupted in the past?

What scriptures warned about separating from the world and to come out from Babylon/Egypt etc?

What talks about the signs of the end?

You are right by questioning the theory because the mark will be on the hand or forehead…but…if your dna becomes corrupted
