That officer is basically organizing a mass recruiting of civilian officers to enforce common law, on a date not yet named, to arrest people in the government who are breaking the law. They may not succeed, but it doesn't sound fake.

The fact he has not been arrested or killed yet ought to be a red flag they plan to honeypot him and the people involved. But I suppose that depends on how many people join….looks like they may vastly outnumber govt. forces.

Thought about that too. I think the answer may be in that what these people signing up would be doing is making arrests for violators of the law. Not overthrowing a government. Its like Kershaw is just expanding the ranks of his force by deputizing a lot of new citizens, so when they make the arrests it can happen on a mass scale.

He was very careful and open about it, which kind of caught me off guard. Imagine if the head of the State Police in your state put out a call for all volunteers to train along-side the troopers, and to be deputized for making arrests. At the appointed time they would go with the backing and endorsement of the full-time Police. Those arrested would be processed accordingly.

Seems like it could work. They are using existing laws on the books, and existing constitutional powers.
