The sales of various OpCos by Liberty Global to Vodafone has been in the works for a significant length of time - at least since the completion of the Virgin Media acquisition. It got serious when the Group CTO for the european activities (Balan Nair) made a sideways move from europe to a comparable function dealing with the central and south american acquisitions.

Nair reports to the CEO (Mike Fries) who reports to Malone. Can get sauce if anyone wants it……but i deal with this on a daily basis irl.
