not sure the Q kind of christians are the ones filling up the church pews but I would give you the same advice mentioned in this thread. Start with the book of John, or one of the other gospels (Matthew Mark Luke John), and just read the red texts. The red text is the actual speakings of Jesus… This is the best way to receive the message without all the other stuff mashed in.
Jesus' message is pretty straight forward. You don't need a church to become closer to God. You don't need an intermediary to talk with God. God loves you and is seeking you, all you need do is accept his warm embrace and listen to your inner monologue because that's God speaking to you… and Jesus also makes it clear not to trust the rulers and authorities. That's the part that got him in trouble.

Let me offer up a couple thoughts to help clarify the name of God, as used in the bible.
What was once a myriad of terms, with a range of meaning from The One True God to various gods, all became translated into God, as we read it today.
Genesis says, Let US make man, that was referring to Yaldoboath and his false costructs, ie, the gods (not God) of this world, the ruler of the under lords and archons.
You need to allow for some fluidity to all terms, within reason. God's wrath is something withheld for those that meet the second death.

You'll see this same parable repeated in the book of Enoch and elsewhere. God has made it very clear to the false shepherds, what his intentions are. The old testmant is what more often compared leavened to unleavened bread. Exodus 13:7, Leviticus 23:17, etc.

We really ought to take a closer look at the metaphor of bread and how it was used in the bible and elsewhere, as parables and allegories to lead to a deeper understanding.

And what is he really saying? He's calling them hypocrities. Saying they preach with leavened bread but live an unleavened life. The verse after, he taunts them with "For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops"…. and then one of my favorite verses in all of Luke.

I do think you're failing to understand the grand picture of the concept of leaven being used in the bible. Even in 1 Corinthians, you're connecting some dots but failing to connect others. In this particular case, it's saying that if the leaven (yeast) is corrupted, then you're better off with a flat bread that won't rise than a rotten sour dough.
Because even in flat bread, there is sincerity and truth in the 2d carnal/raw/animalistic senses of man.
Leaven can be corrupted. Think other references that include yeast. Like wine. That's an example of the pharisees leaven.
Overall, leaven is needed for life and to rise the dough. It brings a 3rd dimension as volume to the dough.
