You know Esword has an ap that lets you toggle between versions and has commentaries and strongs. I personally like KJ+ version bc I can look up Strongs words and a lot of times the meanings are totally different that than what I would assume from the translation written. Plus you can use it offline. I will check out blueletter, too.

But yeah, people quote scripture to support their narratives, a little truth mixed in, and you are right, people have always used scriptures to support a narrative. Nothing new under the sun.
