Same here. I know people who 'had Covid', including one offspring and few business associates. They were sick with something, but it sounded exactly like flu, with the exception of muted taste buds.
I've been sick only once or twice in the last several decades, and never had a flu vax in all that time. I'll just live with my 99.7% survival risk, thanks.
Have visited Sierra Leone before and got to know some people there, and a few Liberians. When the British ran things there was infrastructure, order, simple things like drinking water and sanitation. You can't comprehend the absolute state of fucked-up-ness without going there. When the whites left, nothing got fixed, nothing got built without outside help. Warlords scrapped infrastructure like copper wire and railroad rails to get the metal value. The roads have gone unpaved, the bridges un-repaired. People wash, shit, and do laundry in the same stream. Garbage collects in open piles. They farm with oxen because they don't know how to fix their tractors. They rely on imported rice, even though it has a tropical savanna climate and they can grow anything.
I've scratched my head many times about all this and concluded that they are just incapable of running things. It was all made worse by the white man showing up and fixing everything up nice, only to leave it to them again decades later. Whatever methods of farming or upkeep they used to know before, are lost to them now. In many ways they are like stone age people with cell phones. I wish I was kidding, or could put it in a nicer way. They are very dear people, especially the Christians. Very warm, friendly, and happy, despite all their troubles.
