N. Korea threatens to cancel summit with US - report
North Korea threatened to cancel the planned summit with United States over issue of joint military drills between South Korea and the US, Yonhap reported on Tuesday.
Pyongyang also canceled high-level talks with South Korea set to be held on Wednesday, according to an earlier report released by Yonhap citing North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). Military drills between the US air forces and the South Korean army are a rehearsal for invasion of the North and provocation during the warming inter-Korean ties, KCNA said.
South Korean Reunification Ministry said earlier today that the two Koreas would resume high-level talks on Wednesday, May 16, in the truce village of Panmunjom just south of the border.
