How did the, "nobility," rule Europe centuries ago? Are many of those same families still around today? What games could they be up to today? Had the game changed? Not really.

The Empire of the Carolingians was divided: Arnulf maintained Carinthia, Bavaria, Lorraine and modern Germany; Count Odo of Paris was elected King of Western Francia (France), Ranulf II became King of Aquitaine, Italy went to Count Berengar of Friuli, Upper Burgundy to Rudolph I, and Lower Burgundy to Louis the Blind, the son of Boso of Arles, King of Lower Burgundy and maternal grandson of Emperor Louis II. The other part of Lotharingia became the duchy of Burgundy.[18]

The EU is not really a new concept. They have been trying to rebuild the Roman Empire for LONG, LONG time. What families? What are their names today? What were the main countries involved? France, Germany, Italy? Sound familiar?
