Capitalism isn't a philosophy which means that
we are left to our own devices to survive
and that we should "make our own beds and lie in it"
if you screw up
if you get lost
if you lose all you have
if you are injured and can't work
that… that is your tough luck
so deal with it
Capitalism is about taking a chance on people
taking a chance on a good idea
matching talent with investors
and otherwise picking each other up when we fall
if we are to live by a heartless creed
we can't also call ourselves Christians
Christians keep hoping and keep trying
We forgive and find how to rebuild together
find how we can help
be a shoulder to lean on when it is needed
If our charities hadn't been robbed by thieves
and we hadn't been betrayed by con artists
our work as Christians would be well done
even finished
We would have dug water wells in Africa
We would have build prototypes of villages
We would have helped them achieve literacy
We would have protected the vulnerable
from the savage
Time maybe to redefine what "capitalism" really SHOULD BE
