I believe (for now) that MJ was portrayed as a child lover, which people thought was weird, but remember, he was brought up in an abusive home and maybe MJ thought he was “saving” the kids that stayed with him.
It’s all very strange, but again, I think it’s purposeful on the media’s part. After all, some of those kids were abused by people in that industry.
