Trusted contact works in a palm beach county hospital. They have been short staffed and upped their bonus from $500 to $750 for nurses to pick up additional shifts in the ER. Monday this contact had 6 holds in the ER and sts patients weren’t being discharged on other floors which backed up the ER.
Another contact informed me a page went out to fire rescue that transports we’re experiencing long hold times to transfer care of their patients.
Seems this particular hospital is either seeing an increase in patients or is severely understaffed and shutting down beds/rooms because patient to nurse ration cannot exceed set limits.
