Dixie Fire perimeter and evacuations
Evacuation orders were lifted along the shores of Lake Almanor as fire crews increased containment on the Dixie Fire’s north edge.
The Saturday morning report from the Forest Service fire managers put Dixie’s area at 240,795 acres (376 square miles) with 24% containment.
The evacuation zone of almost 900 square miles is shown by the orange border on the map above, and in more detail — including warning areas — on the county maps at the bottom of this article.
Sixty-four structures are known to have been destroyed as of Saturday. A searchable map released by the California Department of Fire and Forestry Protection gives the known status of structures in the fire zone.

A new fire, Evans, that was ignited Thursday by lightning within the evacuation area had burned about 85 acres.
Highway 70 remained closed between Jarbo Gap and the outskirts of Quincy, and Highway 89 between Highway 70 and Humbug Road, the California Department of Transportation said.
Dixie, California’s largest wildfire of the season, was reported on July 13 along Highway 70 just north of the scar of the 2018 Camp Fire. Its cause is under investigation.
