The institutions of science do not represent the noble scientist anymore than the institutions of Christianity represent the noble teachings of Christ. The corruption is intrinsic to all institutions, not to the Truthful individuals who change the world. We have forgotten that the spirit of the law always trumps the written laws. To really want to understand the source of this corruption, you have to go back, way back when Rome weaponized Christianity as their state religion.
