they allow the plebs to have what is called a release valve

a release valve allows people to let off their steam in a controlled manner while still being no threat whatsoever to the entire establishment and their multi-trillion dollar game of life

slave mentality is wanting someone else to lead them as long as that person leading says the things the slave wants to hear or makes the slave feel good (group think/herd mentality) and this is exactly how they managed to fool people into playing the left/right redpub/dem game

a free mind's mentality wants the freedom that was only known by the original settlers who came to the new world before the crown got their control back

but as societies grow so does their need for institutions, for more and more laws, and for people to have a full time job to make the laws even if they don't make sense because that person now has to justify their long-term career in law-making, and the same for other organizations/foundations/charities and so on like career politicians having to justify their shitty existence so they draft stupid ass bills and at the end of the day it all results to less freedom
