Michael V. Quinn

Assistant Chief Michael V. Quinn joined the NYPD in February 1981, and began his career on patrol in the 77 Precinct. He was promoted to sergeant in November 1985; lieutenant in June 1989; lieutenant special assignment in May 1997; captain in March 1999; deputy inspector in June 2001; inspector in October 2003; deputy chief in February 2008; and assistant chief in September 2012. He has served in the 72, 77, 83, 94 and 107 Precincts; Patrol Borough Brooklyn North; and Office of the Chief of Department. He served as the executive officer of the Chief of Department, and as commanding officer of the 72, 83 and 94 Precincts. His last assignment before he retired in December 2015 was Executive Officer of the Organized Crime Control Bureau. Chief Quinn was a 34-year veteran. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Madeline, and their son, Michael, Jr. Chief Quinn passed away on June 5, 2016.
