> PXE operates over LAN

Yeah, and it needs a DHCP advertisement to work properly too. The payload is not stored on the local hard drives of the dominion machines, it's on the local network.

The evidence is on their LAN, not on the local hard drives.

PXE was used to compromise the operating system, in memory, without leaving many traces on the local hard drives.

Their routers are pwn'd, and that's where the evidence is hiding.

> The Dominion machines are connected to the internet, and PXE boot is being used to interrupt and modify the startup process.

In order for PXE to work properly, it needs to be advertised as part of the DHCP lease.

The device that provides DHCP is typically the router/firewall, but not necessarily. On larger network, there is a dedicated server that provides DHCP services, and they can also provide a PXE boot file.

So the Dominion machines boot using PXE, this modifies settings in memory, and the system boots with compromised settings.

If they have access to the hidden instruction set from Intel, then they can completely pwn the system. BIOS password be damned, they can change whatever they want on the system.
