The Success of Universal Vaccination Depends on Cognitive Dissonance
Cognitive dissonance plays a powerful role in preemptively short circuiting critical thinking for many.
Think about it, every time someone agrees to get the clotshot, they begin to have a personal vested interest in its promotion.
For example, I was shocked to hear Eric Weinstein openly attack his brother, Bret, the other day for 1) deciding to take ivermectin prophylactically instead of taking the COVID spike protein injection and 2) for daring to have open scientific discourse with censored front line ER doctors on his podcast. About half way thru the ranting interview, Eric admits that he took the injection himself months ago and then proceeds to rationalize why he did so, despite his previous strong criticism of Big Pharma and the institutions that support it. But, it just came off as butt hurt cognitive dissonance to me. I contrast that observation with the rational open mindedness of Dr. Peter Navarro who worked in the Trump administration. He was on Bannon’s the war room the other day interviewing Dr. Robert Malone (inventor of the mRNA vaccine) and seemed open to changing his previous position on universal vaccination (especially for the young) for COVID-19 based on growing new empirical evidence for the emergence of vaccine resistant variants caused by antibody dependent enhancement (ADE). I found that very reassuring considering that Navarro not only got the vaccine himself, but played a pivotal role in getting Operation Warp Speed off the ground. Open scientific dialogue is essential going forward and if new data suggests rearranging the furniture of one's imagination, transparency and cognitive flexibility will ultimately test the integrity of those like DeSantis and Trump.
