That's how a computer boots off of a network. The network can be small, just a local LAN, or

much larger.

Typically much faster than booting off of a DVD, but slower than booting off of a hard-drive.

Tis OK. The system I develop on PXE boots most of the machines we use. Occasionally we have to

put in a DVD to return to a known good state after some retard fucks up the PXE install.

Define bad? If they aren't supposed to have their machines connected to a network, varying degrees

of bad may apply. A local LAN set up to boot all the machines in a counting room is not nearly as

bad as every machine connected to the Internet to access a central server located somewhere else.

I don't know if it can be proven without more knowledge of their setup.
