Pfizer and Moderna performed confirmation tests for their COVID-19 vaccines using aborted fetal cells. Johnson & Johnson used a fetal cell line to develop, confirm, and produce their version of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is not some conspiracy. This is a fact that can be verified.

Some will attempt to downplay the use of aborted fetal cell lines by stating that such cell lines are grown in a laboratory. They will say that these lab-grown cells have multiplied countless times over the past 40 to 50 years and are thousands of generations removed from the original fetal tissue. They will assert that these cells do not contain any tissue from a fetus. This is true, but what is also true is that these vaccines absolutely relied upon tissue harvested from aborted fetuses.

There are 3 pertinent stages involved with the creation of vaccines. The first is called “Development,” which is the process where an effective vaccine is developed against a virus. The second is called “Confirmation,” which is the process of ensuring that the developed vaccine works. The third stage is called “Production,” which is the stage where the vaccine is manufactured. Pfizer and Moderna used fetal cell line HEK 293 during the confirmation phase. HEK 293 cells are descended from harvested fetal tissue from a 1973 elective abortion that occurred in the Netherlands. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine uses the PER.C6 fetal cell line during the production phase to manufacture their COVID-19 vaccine. PER.C6 cells are descended from harvested fetal tissue from a 1985 elective abortion that also occurred in the Netherlands.

The Vatican’s doctrinal office has argued that when alternative vaccines are not available, it is morally acceptable to receive COVID-19 vaccines developed or tested using cell lines originating from aborted fetuses. They also claim that licit use of such vaccines does not and should not in any way imply that there is a moral endorsement of the use of cell lines proceeding from aborted fetuses. Through tortured logic that reeks of hypocrisy, the Vatican declares that the moral duty to avoid passive material cooperation with the evil of an abortion is not obligatory if you are in grave danger. There is no question that the Catholic Church views abortion as evil, but if your security is at risk, they believe you can simply ignore the sin involved with abortion and remove yourself from danger. If you can benefit from an abortion and satisfy your personal security, you are not committing a sin according to the Catholic Church. More importantly, you can maintain your stance that abortions are wrong, even if you are benefiting from them. Apparently, the concept of hypocrisy eludes them.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 “ABSTAIN FROM EVERY FORM OF EVIL.” There are no Biblical exceptions to that rule. The Bible does not say, “it’s ok to do evil things if you are in danger.” If one believes that a fetus is a human being, one must believe that aborting a human being is evil. One must also believe consent from an aborted human being is impossible. If an aborted human being did not grant consent over the use of his or her body tissue, the use of such tissue is unethical and immoral. Using danger and security as a pretext for rationalization so one can ignore the evil of abortion is evil in and of itself.

The inalienable right of religious freedom is codified by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. There are no provisions in the Constitution that curtail that right in the event of a pandemic. If you believe that the use of aborted tissue to develop, confirm, or produce vaccines is an immoral sin that goes against your personal religious beliefs, it is your absolute right to decline such vaccines. No mandate can force you to revoke your spiritual beliefs. The government will disagree. Tyrants are among us that will make you bend to their will using coercion and threats. Remind them that you don’t answer to them. Remind them that you will only answer to God.
