I stopped contributing years ago. I slip our priest an envelope once a month and he has assured me, probably at the risk of his job, that it will stay here - none to the Vatican, none to the Diocese. My faith is in God, not in the Church. The guilt and dogma the Catholic church teaches can be very harmful.
I sent my kids to catholic school because the education crushed the public schools in the area. I was very involved, coached basketball, volunteered during lunch time. I just reminded my kids that what the Church taught wasn't always in the Bible. There are a lot of good people with good hearts in the Church. It's going to be a very rough time for some.
