Manafort's motion to get the charges against him thrown out was finally denied today. I find it strange that the MSM is burying the story. You'd think that they'd be celebrating and crying from the rooftops that Manafort is totally screwed.

Might this have been a ploy to establish precedent that the Mueller probe is allowed to operate this far from it's originating issue?

There are about ~1000 sealed indictments per year normally. So a few being unsealed here and there are probably the normal background noise.
