Deputies rescue three women who were victims of sex trafficking

VISALIA – Three women sold as sex slaves were rescued by local law enforcement during a human trafficking bust last week.

The women were found by Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies during an investigation into human sex trafficking on July 23 in the Visalia area. The victims were offered to have Family Services respond immediately to assist them. Victims are always offered counseling and housing. If they decline services, TCSO provides the victims’ names and contact information to Family Services for follow up.

“We at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department are actively involved in the prevention of human trafficking and feel no human being should be bought or sold,” TCSO spokesperson Liz Jones said. “We will continue to conduct these types of operations in the future for the safety and security of the residents of Tulare County.”

Six men were arrested during the investigation for soliciting sexual favors through escort ad services. Those arrested were: Herman Chatrath, 28, of Visalia; Carmen Rosales, 30, of Visalia; Matthew Tilschner, 55, of Visalia; Rigoberto Cortez, 54, of Dinuba; Carlos Chen, 32, of Irvine, Calif.; and Jesus Moreno, 35, of Parlier, Calif. The investigation was led by the Sheriff’s Human Trafficking Unit, along with members of the Visalia Police Department and the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office assigned to the Tulare County Human Trafficking Task Force.

On July 22, the task force arrested 10 “johns,” a term used for clients, who paid for sex during an undercover anti-human sex trafficking operation. All were charged with solicitation of prostitution and some of the men received additional charges ranging from resisting arrest to possession of a concealed firearm. Those arrested were: Richard Lozano, 43, of Visalia; Efrain Rojas Martinez, 41, of Tulare; Jorge Cuevas-Zazueta, 38, of Visalia; Alexis Hernandez, 21, of Visalia; Elijah Hignojoz, 25, of Visalia; Eddie Cardiel, 39, of Hanford; Andres Banuelos, 31, of Visalia, who was also arrested for possession with intent to sell; Charles Bright, 51, of Visalia on charges of drug possession and possession of a concealed weapon; and Keon Wiggins, 29, of Visalia who was charged with resisting arrest.

Calhoun business owner convicted on human trafficking, attempted child molestation charges

A Calhoun business owner was convicted on charges that he drove to Midway Park in March 2020 to meet a person he believed to be a minor for sexual acts.

A Floyd County jury found 44-year-old Christopher Charles Baggett guilty on charges of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, criminal attempt to commit child molestation and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He was acquitted of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation.

According to court and jail records:

Baggett began the interaction on March 27, 2020, by initiating contact on a platform commonly used to solicit prostitution, said Rome Circuit Assistant District Attorney Morgan Bottger.

That false profile had been set up by a Floyd County police officer who messaged back and forth with Baggett over two days. Baggett requested photos and then later asked to meet up for "car play," Bottger said.

At that point the police officer said she wasn't mobile and then said she was actually 14 years old.

Baggett replied with a smiley face emoji, the prosecutor said.

On March 30, 2020, Floyd County police were waiting at Midway Park. Baggett pulled in to the park and then turned around to leave.

Police pulled Baggett over and arrested him in the parking lot of a restaurant. When he was pulled over, police reports stated he had a Glock 42 pistol as well as a large amount of cash.

Baggett had a license to carry a firearm at that time, court records stated.

During a jail phone call with his wife, Baggett was recorded explaining his arrest.

He said he'd been arrested "because I was talking to a girl who was 14, but I didn't say anything about money. I didn't do this, do that. I didn't say anything like that."

His wife asked if he knew the girl was 14. He replied that he did and when he got to the park he turned around and left.

At the time of his arrest, Baggett was listed as the owner of Crystal Caverns Springwater LLC on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website.

The company, whose headquarters are located at 112 N. River St., is a bottled water distributor based in Calhoun. The company’s website states their business delivers bottled water to Tennessee, Dalton, Rome and Cartersville.

Baggett's attorneys filed for a pre-sentencing investigation, according to court records, and sentencing is tentatively set for Sept. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in front of Floyd County Superior Court Judge Kay Ann Wetherington.

Notorious trans-border human trafficker arrested, 13 Libya-bound victims rescued

Efforts by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to curtail the trafficking of Nigerians especially through the notorious Libyan route have yielded result as combined operatives of NAPTIP, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a high profile trans-border trafficking suspect, Nurudeen Sani, said to be based in Kano.

The operation also led to the rescue of 13 Libya-bound victims of human trafficking, made up of two boys and 11 girls just as the agency has commenced manhunt for two other members of the trafficking ring whose names were given as Bose and Ismeal

The development came few days after the Director General of NAPTIP, Senator Basheer Garba Muhammed, promised that the agency had redoubled its efforts and reloaded its strategies to smoke out human traffickers from all parts of the country as parts of the Agency’s determination to make Nigeria a human trafficking-free nation.

The NAPTIP boss had said during a press conference to herald the 2021 World Day Agaisnt Human Trafficking that “while the Agency has continued to rescue, counsel, rehabilitate and empower victims of human trafficking in line with its mandates, traffickers and other sundry offenders are no more having it pleasant as the agency has continued to smoke them out and prosecute them.

“As a way of boosting the operations of the Agency, NAPTIP has increased its presence and spread to over 12 States and still counting. Our desire is to infiltrate all parts of the Country in order to outsmart the traffickers and beat them to their tricks”

Report indicated that the latest arrest followed a tip – off from some concerned stakeholders in Kano who were disturbed by the nefarious activities of the suspect.

The victims said to have been recruited from the South West region of the country were rescued at Basarawa Community along the Kano-Kastina Road by the combined security operatives.

They were said to be heading to Libya through the Republic of Niger.

While the suspect is presently under interrogation by NAPTIP operatives, the victims are undergoing counselling as part of the Agency’s rehabilitation procedure.

Speaking on the arrest, Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Senator Basheer Garba Muhammed, expressed worry over the activities of the traffickers and warned parents to desist from yielding to pressure of deceit in giving out their children.

Senator Garba Muhammed said, “It is sad that despite the painful experience of victims along these notorious trafficking routes especially the Libya corridor, some people still agreed to be trafficked out of the country. This is a dangerous decision.

“NAPTIP shall go after the remaining members of this trafficking gang and they will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

“I sincerely thank our sister law enforcement agencies for their support and collaboration which led to the arrest of the suspect,” NAPTIP Director General stated.

How is the Delta Variant Spreading If There is No Direct Delta Variant Test?

The Delta variant of COVID 19 is the latest twist in the Chinese bioweapon unleashed on the World. But I find one thing very troubling–news media, pundits and some health organizations insist the culprit behind the latest breakout of COVID cases is the DELTA variant but there is no test for the DELTA variant. It would be one thing if the media reports told the story of people being tested and then, a day or two later, learn belatedly they are carrying the dreaded DELTA variant. But that is not what is being reported.

The testing for the DELTA variant is presented as an article of faith. This is an example:

Data from Public Health England (PHE) shows that, while the overall chances of getting reinfected are very low, the Delta variant, first identified in India and which accounts for around 99% of cases in the UK, poses a higher risk.

It came as new figures showed the breakdown of how many people in hospital with the Delta variant have had one or both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

From June 21 to July 19, some 1,788 people were admitted to hospital after testing positive for Delta.

Of these, 970 (54%) were unvaccinated, while 530 (30%) had received both doses.

So how does the testing occur? It apparently requires some rather sophisticated laboratory analysis:

Although there are no direct Delta variant tests, PCR tests that are positive for SARS-CoV-2 can undergo genetic analysis such as ‘genomic sequencing’ which tells us if it is the Delta (or another) variant. This means it is possible to accurately identify if someone is unwell with the Delta variant of Covid-19.

While it is “possible” to identify that someone may have the DELTA variant, THERE IS NO DIRECT TEST.

So, I repeat my question–how the hell do we know that most of the new cases are “DELTA” when there is no DIRECT test?

This is a serious question to you, the readers. If you have any evidence or citation to clear up this confusion I welcome your input.

Coronavirus origins: virus may have jumped to humans outside China, says expert leading China’s WHO team

Liang Wannian says during the next stage, inquiry should look to countries with coronavirus-infected animals and also those with cold-chain exports

He says there must be more study of animals raised for food or fur production, such as ferret-badgers, raccoons, civets and mink

The next step in tracing the origins of the new coronavirus

responsible for the ongoing pandemic should be directed at countries where the virus had been found in animals, the environment and human samples earlier than the Wuhan outbreak in 2019, and the inquiry should also take in countries that exported cold-chain products

to the city’s Huanan Seafood Market, according to the scientist who led the Chinese team during the World Health Organization’s

origins investigation.

Responding exclusively to the South China Morning Post, Liang Wannian, a professor with the Vanke School of Public Health at Tsinghua University who was China’s key expert leading the joint investigation with the WHO earlier this year, said Wuhan might not be where Sars-CoV-2 – the virus that causes Covid-19 – jumped to humans.

He suggested that the UN agency conduct the next stage of its study

in countries where transmission of the virus had been identified as happening before it was recognised in Wuhan.

Covid-19 came to the public’s attention in late December 2019, when a cluster outbreak of a mysterious pneumonia of unknown origin was identified by the Wuhan health care system, mostly among workers and customers of the Huanan Seafood Market. How the virus was introduced to the market remains unknown.

“We recommend that WHO conduct a review and analysis of earlier suspected cases, earlier evidence found in animal and environmental studies that were published, to determine the scientific validity and reliability of the available evidence,” Liang said in a written interview.

“The focus of phase 2 should be based on publicly available research evidence. As the pathway of virus transmission from natural hosts via intermediate hosts is the most likely, studies should be conducted in all countries where horseshoe bats and pangolins are distributed, particularly in areas where sampling is under-tested.”

Liang’s comments come just a week after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in Kuwait and pledged his support

for the UN agency’s investigation in China into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic.

Chinese media trying and failing to deflect

China’s Banking Crisis—8 Local Banks Downgraded

According to Sina Finance, China downgraded the credit rating of eight medium/small banks within a short interval of three days, including four local banks in Liaoning Province: Shengjing Bank, Fuxin Bank, Huludao Bank, and Dalian Rural Commercial Bank. The credit rating agency cites five main reasons for the downgrading: nonperforming loans, poor profit, problematic asset structure, decreasing deposits, and credit risk of bank shareholders.

The article explains the five reasons in detail. First, the banks are downgraded for delinquent loan payments or loan defaults from debtors amid the economic downturn, lowering borrower credit, and the Covid pandemic. Some banks’ reserves are even lower than requirements. For example, nonperforming loans surged by 1.13 billion RMB to a total of 1.67 billion RMB at the Xinzheng Rural Commercial Bank last year. Second, poor profitability exacerbates the banks’ risk level. The Pingyao Rural Commercial Bank (a bank of 15 billion RMB in size) only made less than 1 million RMB in profit last year, a 93% drop year over year. Third, some of the banks have a flawed asset structure: most of their loans are concentrated in the hands of a few large borrowers, aggravating exposure to risk. Fourth, the banks experience a growing debt ratio as they have problems attracting new deposits. After Shengjing Bank rejected some of the high-cost or unstable deposits last year, its deposits could no longer recover to the previous level. Fifth, some of the banks’ shareholders have poor credit ratings themselves.

The downgraded banks are concentrated in Liaoning Province, whose banking sector is performing poorly. The banking sector in Liaoning (Dalian City excluded) only realized 9.6 billion RMB of net profit in 2020, a 21.9% drop year over year; the net profit in the first half of this year is only 3.9 billion RMB, a 70% drop year over year. Shengjing Bank, Fuxin Bank, and Dalian Rural Commerical saw their profits plunge by 77.9%, 95.5%, and 28.6% last year, respectively. Huludao Bank suffered a net loss.

The shareholders of these local banks are themselves embattled by huge debt. Evergrande Group, the largest shareholder with a 36.4% stake in Shengjing Bank, is plagued by bad debt and recently saw its stock price tumbling. The government of Shenyang City pledged that city-owned enterprises will purchase more shares of Shengjing Bank. All stake of Fuxin Bank’s largest shareholder is confiscated and will be auctioned soon. The second and tenth-largest shareholders of Huludao Bank also had their assets seized for breach of contract. To deal with the banking crisis, Liaoning Province decided to merge 12 local banks into a provincial commercial bank called the Liaoshen Bank. In addition to local banks, HSBC China was also downgraded by Moody’s in long-term deposits, base credit rating, long-term trade counterparty risk, and long-term forex trade counterparty risk.

China’s downgrading of eight local banks is only a window dressing that doesn’t address the root of the banking crisis. As Sina Finance reported, Shengjing Bank was only downgraded from AAA rating to AA+, but the actual risk of bank failure is much higher. According to Mr. Miles Guo, all banks in Communist China are somewhat Ponzi schemes because the Chinese Communist Party kleptocrats have embezzled most of the wealth deposited in banks. Companies controlled by kleptocrats (including HNA Group) borrowed trillions of USD in loans from banks in China and then laundered the money into the personal accounts or family trusts of the kleptocrats’ relatives abroad. Since these banks are the lenders or guarantors of these loans that the kleptocrats never plan to pay back, banks in China will bust one after another over defaulted loans or nonperforming loans, setting off a financial tsunami that will ravage the entire country and possibly global economic. The CCP government only delays the process by strict censorship and by prohibiting bank runs. Wealthy Chinese should better deposit their money in foreign banks that comply with financial regulations.

Cartels could be earning up to $6 billion a year smuggling migrants into the U.S., official says

As the migration crisis at the U.S. southern border continues unabated, drug cartels are estimated to have earned up to $6 billion a year — or possibly even more. According to a senior Homeland Security official who spoke to Congress, the staggering number, which is higher than other public estimates, reflects the profitability of human trafficking fuelling the ongoing crisis.

The Washington Times reported on Wednesday that John Condon, acting assistant director of international operations at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told a Congressional panel that Mexican drug cartels have been achieving record profits through the ongoing crisis.

“U.S.-bound human smuggling and related criminal activities are estimated by the Homeland Security Operational Analysis Center to produce revenues of between $2 billion to $6 billion per year,” Condon said to the House Homeland Security Committee’s oversight subcommittee.

Human smugglers, also known as “coyotes,” navigate the terrain in the southern border region and provide passage for illegal border crossers into the United States, most of whom pay for the service and fuel the illegal economy. Analysts estimate that at least three quarters of migrants pay smugglers to go on the journey.

The Washington Times found that illegal immigrants from Mexico paid anywhere from $3,600 to $18,000 to enter the U.S. in June, with an estimated $8,000 to $9,000 as the average rate. Migrants from Central American countries paid from $4,500 to $30,000, with the average rate between $9,000 to $10,000.

“That doesn’t include extra cash to pay for food along the way or, in many cases, a final release fee smugglers charge the migrants’ families — which can tack thousands of dollars onto the cost,” the publication noted.

Customs and Border Protection said it encountered 188,829 unauthorized crossings, and, according to law enforcement sources, missed at least another 30,000 crossings.

Of those caught, about 40% were from Honduras, El Salvador or Guatemala, slightly more than a third were from Mexico and the remaining quarter were from elsewhere.

Some were repeat-offenders who paid once, got caught, and then tried again on the same original payment.

Using very conservative limits, figuring three-quarters of migrants are paying the typical rates, and even discounting a 38% recidivism rate, migrants would have paid $840 million in June alone.

Experts say this will be a record-breaking year for cartel profits off human smuggling.

According to the Times, human smuggling operations span from beginning in plazas in Central American cities to villages in Pakistan, and the process includes travel agents who arrange routes to Mexico and into the United States.

“Their operations continue with the foot guides who smuggle them through the desert of ferry them across the Rio Grande and end with the stash house operators who house them and the drivers who get them through the Border Patrol’s highway checkpoints and on into the interior of the U.S.,” the publication reported.

Many of the migrants pay up front, so that the cartels profit even if the migrants are captured by law enforcement.

Mask Tyrant Nevada Commissioner Tick Segerblom Caught On Maskless ‘Pub Crawl’

The Political Elites Are Rubbing Masks In Your Faces

Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom in Nevada partied maskless after imposing a mask mandate on the people of the county, which includes Las Vegas. This is yet another example of the globalist elites expressing contempt for the very rules and mandates that they try to force on the American people.

Photographs of the maskless “Pub Crawl” (their masks conspicuously hung around their festive shirts) show the contempt that the political elites have for the common people. Even a Republican by the name of Tick Segerblom

“Here is the same the same Tick Segerblom (Clark County Commissioner – District E. Liberal Democrat) hanging out with so-called “conservative” activist and former executive director of the American Conservative Union, national chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus, Clark County, Nevada, GOP chairman and former Nevada Republican Party executive director Chuck Muth. These people are all…hypocrites — both parties are laughing at you!!!!,” reads the caption to this photograph on NetworkInVegas.com.
