>Warden at jail housing Ghislaine Maxwell charged with killing her husband
https://news.yahoo.com/warden-jail-housing-ghislaine-maxwell-192904087.html
Antonia Ashford, associate warden at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, was charged with killing her husband (New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office)
An associate warden at the jail housing alleged sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has been charged with fatally shooting her husband.
Antonia Ashford, associate warden at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, New York, was charged with murder and weapons possession after her husband was found dead by police in their New Jersey home.
According to prosecutors, Ms Ashford pulled a gun on her husband and shot him in the face. Police found the man, Roderick Ashford, lying on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Associated Press..
Mr Ashford was also a Bureau of Prisons employee.
The jail – and the state's Bureau of Prisons – have become infamous for allegations of mismanagement and abuse.
Those issues came to light in 2019 when Jeffrey Epstein, sex trafficker and financier to the ultra-wealthy, died by apparent suicide while being housed at the Metropolitan Correction Center in Manhattan. Three weeks prior to his death, Epstein was found unconscious in his cell with injuries to his neck. At the time, Epstein believed that he had been attacked by his cellmate, a body-builder ex-police officer facing the death penalty for federal murder and drug charges.
After Epstein was placed on suicide watch, the man was moved out of the cell.
The inmate denied ever having touched Epstein.
After the jail was criticised for letting Epstein die, the sex trafficker's longtime girlfriend and alleged pimp, Ms Maxwell, was also put on a restrictive suicide watch.
Ms Maxwell has complained that guards constantly wake her up with flashlights throughout the night and that sleep masks and earplugs do nothing to help block their intrusions.
She has also complained that the facility has a horrible stench due to overflowing toilets and that she was being served "inedible" food and brown water. She claims she has lost hair and is under near constant surveillance.
Ms Maxwell has strongly denied the accusations against her.
The jail has a rocky history even outside its association with Epstein and Ms Maxwell; in 2019, the Bureau of Prisons was criticised after offering an inadequate response to a week-long power failure during the winter that left inmates huddling for warmth in their cells.

Devolution
Devolution is the statutory delegation of powers from the central government of a sovereign state to govern at a subnational level, such as a regional or local level. It is a form of administrative decentralization. Devolved territories have the power to make legislation relevant to the area, thus granting them a higher level of autonomy. evolution differs from federalism in that the devolved powers of the subnational authority may be temporary and are reversible, ultimately residing with the central government. Thus, the state remains de jure unitary. Legislation creating devolved parliaments or assemblies can be repealed or amended by central government in the same way as any statute. In federal systems, by contrast, sub-unit government is guaranteed in the constitution, so the powers of the sub-units cannot be withdrawn unilaterally by the central government. The sub-units therefore have a lower degree of protection under devolution than under federalism.Wikipedia
Devolution - Federalism in America
http://encyclopedia.federalism.org/index.php/Devolution
Devolution, which can be instituted constitutionally or legislatively, implies a transfer of substantial, or even complete, power and authority for a range of important governmental functions from a national or central government to subordinate regional governments (e.g., provinces or states) or local governments (e.g., municipalities or metropolitan entities) such that the regional or local governments are invested with substantial rights of autonomous self-government.

Devolution
“Devolution” is a widely used term that lacks a precise definition and is often used interchangeably with “decentralization.” Decentralization, however, entails explicit transfers of decision-making authority that are limited to specific programs or functions. Such transfers from a central or higher-level entity to subordinate field, regional, and/or local entities do not ordinarily give the subordinate entities rights of autonomous self-government. Decentralization also implies that the central or higher-level entity can unilaterally recentralize authority.
A key power in devolution crucial for self-government is the authority of a regional or local government to (1) adopt and collect its own sources of revenue (e.g., levy sales, income, or property taxes), (2) set its own tax rules and rates, (3) borrow funds, and (4) expend its revenues for locally determined purposes.
A leading example of devolution was the delegation in 1998 and 1999 of substantial powers and authority in the United Kingdom to Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The reopening under devolution of Scotland’s parliament after a more than 300-year hiatus symbolized the restoration of significant autonomous self-government for Scotland. There have also been substantial devolutions of power from Spain’s central government to such regions as the Basque Country, Catalonia, and Galicia. These examples indicate that devolution can be asymmetrical; that is, some regions or localities are granted, or entitled to receive, more powers than other regions. These examples indicate, as well, that devolution is sometimes a response to demands for autonomy by territorially based ethnic, national, religious, linguistic, and/or religious groups.
Usually, devolution, like decentralization, implies that the national or central government can unilaterally revoke acts of devolution and, thus, take back devolved powers. This happened in the United Kingdom in 1972 when Britain abolished Northern Ireland’s parliament. In some cases, however, there are constitutional guarantees of devolution that protect against revocation; in other cases, the political imperatives of devolution might be sufficient to prevent revocation.
In the United States, the term “devolution” gained some currency when, in 1953, the American Municipal Association proposed a devolution-of-powers approach to municipal home rule. Under this approach, adopted by about 12 states, a state government devolves all powers capable of delegation to local governments for purposes of autonomous self-government. A local government is thereby free to exercise any appropriate power that is not expressly limited or prohibited by the state’s constitution, the local government’s charter, or a general state statute. For example, the Missouri and Pennsylvania Constitutions state that “a municipality which has a home-rule charter may exercise any power or perform any function not denied by this Constitution, by its home-rule charter, or by the General Assembly at any time.” Under this approach, the state legislature is the principal determinant of the degree of autonomous local self-government because the legislature retains complete statutory authority to adjust the boundary between state and local powers.

cont: http://encyclopedia.federalism.org/index.php/Devolution
The term “devolution” gained wider currency during the 1980's and 1990's when various observers used the term to describe developments that seemed to suggest a revolution in state-federal relations entailing substantial devolutions of power from the U.S. federal government to the states. President Richard M. Nixon’s New Federalism was termed devolutionary because General Revenue Sharing (GRS) and the block grants advocated by Nixon provided greater discretion and flexibility for state and local governments than traditional categorical and project grants. Nixon also decentralized various grant-in-aid and regulatory functions to federal regional offices. However, GRS, enacted in 1972, was terminated for states in 1980 and for local governments in 1986. In addition, GRS and block grants together never accounted for more than 18 percent of all federal aid to state and local governments. Some observers also described President Ronald Reagan’s New Federalism as devolutionary, but his major New Federalism proposals were not enacted, he abolished the functions of federal regional offices established by Nixon, and he supported the final termination of GRS in 1986. Although Reagan convinced Congress to enact new block grants (i.e., nine new block grants in 1981), block grants again never accounted for more than 18 percent of all federal aid. Meanwhile, Reagan signed more bills preempting state powers than any previous president; he also approved major conditions attached to aid, such as the 21-year-old drinking age condition attached to federal highway aid in 1984. In the mid-1980's, the U.S. Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations proposed devolving various programs to state and local governments; however, the Commission referred to its proposals as “turnbacks,” namely, restorations to state and local governments of functions for which those governments were once entirely responsible prior to federal intervention. None of the proposed programs were turned back to states and localities.
The 1996 welfare reform law—the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA)—enacted during Bill Clinton’s presidency was deemed devolutionary by some observers because PRWORA created a new block grant, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and allowed states considerable discretion in implementing PRWORA. However, PRWORA is encumbered with conditions; states must achieve very specific federal objectives; states face fiscal and civil penalties for failures to meet the federal objectives; and TANF’s funding is dwarfed by other categorical grant welfare programs, especially Medicaid, a highly conditioned categorical grant program that accounts for nearly 45 percent of all federal aid to state and local governments. Congress’s failure to reauthorize PRWORA in 2002 and for several years thereafter because of disagreements over policy objectives further indicated that PRWORA is not an example of devolution but merely of federal delegation of administrative discretion to the states to select the means by which they achieve mandated federal objectives.

>>14274509 <<listen to this carefully
cont: http://encyclopedia.federalism.org/index.php/Devolution
Strictly speaking, there can be no devolution of powers from the U.S. federal government to the states without constitutional change because the federal government possesses only those powers delegated to it by the people of the states through the U.S. Constitution. All other powers are reserved to the states or to the people (see the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution). Hence, the states are sovereign in their own right, and they derive their self-governing powers from their own people, not from the U.S. government or the people of the United States. However, each U.S. state government is a unitary government possessing inherent and plenary residual powers, whereas in the case of local governments there is no inherent or sovereign right of self-government. Consequently, it is possible to devolve powers from a state government to local governments.

But the story says that Pence "ignored his role in January 6."
The problem was THE RAID ON THE CAPITOL BUILDING.
It made everything politically untenable for Trump.
WHICH WAS THE PURPOSE.
Pence did nothing wrong, so of course he's not going to harp on the stupidest thing Trump supporters ever did.

Devolution is the US military running the country under seven separate plans that are put into action when the civilian federal government ceases to exist.
So I think we're in a hybrid state of devolution AND a shadow presidency.
The military is making NO policy decisions, and Trump is preserving national-security infrastructure.
Such as the economy.
I have no idea what the endgame is, but I never anticipated the current solution, which satisfies all sides AND is legal and constitutional.

It's clear that our foreign enemies interfered in the election.
That would mean that Biden couldn't be allowed to assume the presidency.
But Trump created a counterattack that was MUCH SMARTER than simply exposing the theft before January 6.

Currently Americans live for cartoonish overstatement.
Some bombastic weirdo just posted something to me.
"It's a difficult time to be a hopeful person during the most delusional period of human history."
That's deeply silly.
World War One took place during a FAR more delusional period.
The French wore red pants and caps and charged into heavy machine-gun and artillery fire. They said the bayonet would solve all their problems.

We've had unbroken periods of madness that lasted centuries.
When was the last time we had a dancing outbreak?
It used to happen all the time in Europe. People danced nonstop for days until they dropped dead.
How about an outbreak of biting among nuns in Europe? They were biting each other in seven countries before the authorities finally put a stop to it by flogging them.

How about that?

Little kids spontaneously started walking from Europe to the Middle East to wage holy war on Muslims.
Thousands joined in, and they were shipped off to Tunisia by child traffickers and sold into sexual slavery.
That was the year 1212. A skoosh more delusional and tragic than the current period. About 30,000 kids were victims.
So don't tell a historian that we're living in the most delusional period in human history.

Devolution happened NOT because the armed forces disagreed with a president.
It happened because our global enemies helped STEAL an election in order to install a puppet who is a de facto enemy agent.
We don't know what happened after January 6 and before January 20.
In order to make devolution perfectly legal and constitutional, Congress would have to have been involved.
My guess is the feud between Trump and McConnell is strategic deception.

The devolution took place because there was no constitutional line of succession.
The correct vote count changes the composition of the House and Senate, and it nullifies the Biden administration.
But there are no laws OR constitutional avenues to solve this mess.
The ONLY solution is devolution.
For now.
It won't last for very long, because the military does NOT like this.
So my guess is that we're going to see the presentation of the theft operation.

The people who did it will be exposed, and then we'll learn that a political solution was crafted before January 20.
There will almost certainly be more strategic deception about who was really in power the whole time.
But we'll all be made to see that China was behind this disaster, so people won't be prying for the details.
I can't tell you what WILL happen, but think of THIS:

Trump told the military to review the seven plans needed during devolution.
Here are the key points of what would happen:
-
The military does NOT make policy.
-
The military is under no requirement to ANNOUNCE devolution.
-
The devolution staff is geologically scattered and compartmented.
-
No single person or unified committee is running the show.
-
The military PROTECTS our societal infrastructure until a CONSTITUTIONALLY LEGITIMATE executive branch is able to take over.

If Trump had Kim as his guest and THEY DIDN'T TALK GEOPOLITICS, it would be legal.
There are a million ways Trump could let Kim know what's up.
Tell him a story, for example.
Remember that Kim has disappeared several times.
No exaggeration: Kim Jong-un is one of the world's most important leaders.
The fact that he's ignoring Biden is VERY telling.
Just bringing Kim here and returning him home safely without anyone knowing would make Kim our ally forever.

All of this sounds crazy, but we actually did crazier things in World War II.
We actually built a fake Burbank and covered parts of the REAL Burbank with giant painted tarps to make it look like empty countryside from the air.
There were factories that we had to hide.
FDR hid the fact that he was in a wheelchair due to polio.
He wore special leg braces that allowed him to stand, and he was so physically strong that he could swing his stiff legs and walk short distances.

The press covered up for FDR.
Keep in mind that the press created an entire fake January 6 insurrection to go with their fake Donald Trump.
Why wouldn't a handful of military leaders agree to serve as a caretaker government until the Chinese agent Biden can be removed?
It's entirely plausible, given the FACT that Chris Miller publicly thanked Mike Pence for guiding him through the most complex operations the US military ever carried out.
WHAT WERE THEY?!

President Trump Will Send You a Text Today, Whether You Want It or Not
A new emergency text system will be tested by POTUS on Wednesday
Sean Burch | October 3, 2018 @ 8:22 AM
It doesn’t matter if you follow him on Twitter or not. It doesn’t matter if you’re conservative or liberal. President Trump will be directly sending a message to your phone on Wednesday, as part of a nationwide test of the government’s emergency alert system.
Beginning at 2:18 p.m. ET, the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System will send the test message to all U.S. cellphones on major carriers. President Trump is the only person that can send the message — and you can’t turn off notifications for it.
“Presidential Alert,” the message will begin, followed by a brief text: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
Also Read:

The new messaging system traces its roots back to the George W. Bush White House, when the president called for a national warning system after the U.S. government was criticized for its reaction the Hurricane Katrina. If a real national crisis were to happen, President Trump could leverage the alert system to send a nationwide warning. The message is sent by the same institution that handles Amber Alerts.
It also might be hard to miss the test message. Not only are people unable to opt out, but the “special tone” accompanying the message can be “quite loud,” according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

President Trump Will Send You a Text Message This Afternoon And There's No Way to Opt Out
FEMA is testing out a new nation-wide text alert for emergencies.

To test out the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) new national emergency protocol, President Trump will send a text message to everyone in the country at 2:18 pm EST today.
The first ever "Presidential Alert" alert is similar to the Amber Alert and flood warnings you might receive in the wake of extreme weather events and the like, with one minor exception: It's the first ever to come with a "Presidential Alert" moniker. In a press release, the agency says the test will ensure "the operational readiness of alerting infrastructure" and identify any hiccups in its national emergency alert systems. It is no way a cause for alarm.
The alert will be delivered to everyone in the United States with an American cell phone number, and it's impossible to opt out of receiving the message. The alert will be two-tiered: As a means of integrating its Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts, FEMA will send the text at 2:18 pm EST. After that, at 2:20 pm, the message will spread to broadcast systems where it will play over radio and television. (The latter will mark the fourth time a WEA broadcast across commandeered American networks).

The test was originally supposed to take place on September 20, but Hurricane Florence lead to postponement. If you're interested in reading the message in full before it beams to your device, FEMA has done you the proper courtesy of providing it in full:
“THIS IS A TEST of the National Emergency Alert System. This system was developed by broadcast and cable operators in voluntary cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Communications Commission, and local authorities to keep you informed in the event of an emergency. If this had been an actual emergency an official message would have followed the tone alert you heard at the start of this message. A similar wireless emergency alert test message has been sent to all cell phones nationwide. Some cell phones will receive the message; others will not. No action is required.”
Update [10/3]: As promised, the nation's first ever Presidential Alert was sent to cell phones across the country on Wednesday. Gauging by the many reactions to the message on Twitter, the nation was generally blindsided by the missive.
Here are some of the choice reactions, peppered in with a few jokes from the online Americans of Twitter:

DEADLY DELIVERY St. Louis man ‘dragged to death by FedEx truck during George Floyd protest’
Henry Holloway
20:03, 30 May 2020
A MAN has been dragged to death by a FedEx truck during protests in St Louis over the death of George Floyd.
Video captures the shocking moment as the 18-wheeler is surrounded by protesters while attempting to pass through the chaos on Friday.
The clip taken by witness Jared Arms shows the large white articulated truck, towing two trailers emblazoned with the FedEx logo, moving through the demonstrations over the death of Mr Floyd.
Screaming can then be heard, and a number of men surround the vehicle and begin to bang on the driver's side window.
Voices can be heard shouting "back the truck up" and people wave their arms to get the driver to move.
More screaming can then be heard as the huge vehicle starts moving forward, loudly sounding its horn.
Moments later what appears to be a man can be seen stuck between the wheels of the rear trailer as bystanders desperately try to to stop the truck.
The truck continues to move for a number of minutes before stopping further down the road as the Mr Arms gives chase shouting "this is f****d up".
Eventually the cameraman catches up with the FedEx truck.
A man in a white shirt can be seen with a torch checking what appears to be a body lying between the two trailers.
Cops then arrive on the scene to check on the victim as the awful footage draws to a close.
One witness posted on Twitter: "Me and many others tried pulling him from under the truck.
"He was under the tire for at least a minute before the truck started drive. We didn't have enough strength."
Police said the man died after being taken the hosptial and the incident is currently under investigation, reports St Louis Post-Dispatch.
In a statement to The US Sun, a spokeswoman for FedEx said: "We join all those who are grieving the events of this week.
"We are deeply saddened to learn of a tragic situation involving a demonstrator in St. Louis and one of our vehicles.
"We offer our sincerest condolences to the family of the individual involved.
"There is no higher priority for FedEx than safety, and we are cooperating fully with the investigating authorities at this time."
The incident comes as protests and violence erupts nationwide over the death of Mr Floyd in Minneapolis.
Mr Floyd - described by his family as a "gentle giant" - died after white police officer Derek Chauvin was caught on video kneeling on his neck as he pleaded "I can't breathe".
Footage shows Mr Floyd appear to go limp as Chauvin ignores his cries for help along with three other cops, Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng.
Chauvin has since been arrested for murder as outraged protesters turned to rioting and looting in Minneapolis.
Fury spread to other cities such as Atlanta, Washington DC, New York and Los Angeles as the shocking incident renews focus on police brutality and racism.

Attorney for Family of Man Killed by FedEx Truck During Riot Explains Their Side of the Story
JUNE 12, 2020 AccidentsBusinessTrucking News By Transportation Nation Network

St. Louis, MO – The attorney for the family of the man killed by a FedEx big rig during a recent riot in St. Louis says the victim was physically incapable of looting.
In a recent interview with local news outlet KMOV, Nuru Witherspoon of the Witherspoon Law Group (WLG) says 29-year-old Barry Perkins III, of the Glasgow Village area, was needlessly killed by a FedEx tractor-trailer.
The deadly incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 30 after a group of protesters shut down Interstate 44.
Police diverted traffic from the interstate into downtown St. Louis leading to multiple attacks on big rigs along Broadway Street.
One of those attacks was on a FedEx tractor pulling doubles.
Widely circulated video shows rioters and looters pulling packages from the first of the twin trailers and tossing them to other people in the crowd and onto the ground.
Additional footage of the incident also reveals rioters jumping on the tractor and pounding on both the driver and passenger windows.
The driver and co-driver claim at least two guns were pointed at them from the passenger side of the truck as the trailer was being raided.
According to police, Perkins became stuck on the converter dolly between the dual trailers.
As the truck pulled away, authorities say Perkins was caught by one of the tires and pulled under the rig and dragged several blocks.
Witherspoon initially released a statement following the incident claiming Perkins was “peacefully protesting the death of George Floyd and was not looting when he was dragged” by the FedEx truck, thus placing the blame on the driver.
“There is no justification for running over a human being with a semi-truck,” he said.
He told KMOV the truck driver, whose identity has yet to be released, should have stopped when people began alerting him that Perkins was trapped underneath the rig.
Multiple people can be heard urging the driver to “Back up! Back up!” in an effort to save Perkins.
However, the trucker, certainly fearing for his safety and the safety of his co-driver, accelerated away from the danger.
Witherspoon says Perkins was only near the truck because he was attempting to move away from what he thought were gunshots from the crowd.
“There was some disturbance or some loud crack or boom or something that may have sounded like shots at a distance and he was trying to move away from the commotion,” Witherspoon said.

Further, Witherspoon argues Perkins was not physically capable of even participating in the looting of the big rig.
“He walks with somewhat of a limp, so he has physical limitations,” he said. “He wouldn’t even be physically capable of looting and doing those things.”
FedEx has indicated the company is fully cooperating with the investigation.
No charges have been filed against the trucker as of yet.
However, Witherspoon says he is hopeful to work out a deal with the transportation giant to keep from having to litigate the matter.
“If we have to end up in litigation and talk to a jury about the facts of the case, then that’s ultimately what we’re going to do, but if there can be some resolution then we’ll see if that’s even possible,” Witherspoon said. “For us, it is really about justice for Mr. Perkins. He left behind two children and I think that’s the tragedy in all of this.”
Transportation Nation Network (TNN) has been in continued contact with WLG in recent days and will update you if/when a “resolution” has been reached or litigation has been filed.

The widespread riots that have ensued after the killing of George Floyd have not only caused irreparable damage to property, but they've taken the lives of at least 17 Americans.
Some of the victims were either former or current law enforcement or innocent bystanders trying to get home or protect their business.
Those who have died so far during the riots:
David Dorn (77): Died protecting Lee's Pawn Jewelry from looters. He was a retired St. Louis Police officer who served the force for 38 years. He was shot in the torso by suspected rioters and died in the middle of the street.

Joe Pappalardo of Cleveland, OH-based law firm Gallagher Sharp spoke to TNN regarding Perkins’s death.
Pappalardo, who specializes in defending trucking companies in complex and multi-million dollar accident suits, says the law in this case protects the trucker and FedEx through what’s known as “expressed assumption of the risk.”
“No one is allowed to assume that kind of a risk and then sue someone when something bad happens,” he explained. “If someone puts themselves in a position of peril in that close proximity to a big truck or any vehicle that’s moving, then that person assumes the risk of being hurt or killed.”
Authorities have yet to identity of the FedEx driver, but did mention he is a 44-year-old caucasian male.

Trucker’s Viral Social Media Post Vows “We Will Not Be Reginald Denny”
JUNE 4, 2020 BusinessFeaturesRegulationsTrucking News By Transportation Nation Network

Little Rock, AR – A trucker’s social media post vowing to never forget the lessons learned after a truck driver was brutally beaten during the 1992 Los Angeles riots has gone viral within trucking community.
As once peaceful protests over the death of George Floyd quickly devolved into rioting and looting in dozens of major United States cities, truckers have been on high alert.
Transportation Nation Network (TNN) has brought you numerous first-hand accounts of truckers who have been targeted by rioters in the last week.
Click HERE to read their stories.
Truckers have expressed outrage over the these incidents and the emerging threats to their own safety.
One such trucker is Mark Staite of Melbourne, Florida.
Staite has been a professional driver since 2002 and is currently a power-only owner operator.
After reading reports of big rigs coming under assault last weekend, Staite tells TNN he felt he needed to “start a conversation” about the issue.
“It got me thinking and the more I thought about it, the more it angered me,” Staite said.
He feared, “This could be another Reginald Denny situation.”
Most truckers either vividly remember or are aware of the savage beating Denny, a truck driver, took at the hands of rioters during the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
He suffered serious injuries including 91 fractures to his skull resulting in years of medical treatment and intense physical rehabilitation.
Though he survived the vicious assault, his life was forever changed.
Denny is often mentioned as a rallying cry among truckers.
The primary lessons learned were to never stop your truck and never allow an angry mob to pull you from your rig.
Also adding to Staite’s frustration was the fact that governmental leaders and trucking industry groups were silent on the attacks.
“The big representative groups that allegedly speak for the drivers were suspiciously quiet,” he said. “There is a leadership vacuum from the major groups and the carriers themselves.”
So, in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 31, Staite penned a message to America on behalf of truckers.
He posted that message into a truck driver training and discussion group on Facebook, which he leads, called The Rookie Room.
Staite says his message was intentionally hyperbolic mixed with a “fight club attitude,” but the intent was clear, “DON’T F— WITH THE AMERICAN TRUCKER!”
He writes, in part:
The American trucker will not be held hostage, threatened, robbed, or killed. We will not be a victim. We will not be this generation’s version of Reginald Denny. Every driver knows that name. Do you?
Threaten, delay, attempt to stop a truck, we… The American trucker will consider that act as an attack on our lives. We will defend ourselves, our equipment, and our load.
Staite was just getting warmed up.
He continues:
Food, medicine, hospital supplies, gasoline, and a million other daily items we deliver to your cities ARE A-POLITICAL. Everyone needs them, including your dumbass. We don’t “need” to come to your lawless city. YOU NEED us to deliver your food and supplies to your city.
cont:
cont:https://www.transportationnation.com/truckers-viral-social-media-post-vows-we-will-not-be-reginald-denny/
If your city becomes too chaotic and violent. We will stop delivering to your city. Period. No driver will travel into a city that reminds us of scenes from a “Mad Max” movie.
Further, he warns:
Congregating in the roadway will only get you run over. Standing in the roadway is NOT a protest. It is an attack on our safety. Air horns will sound, steering wheels will be held tightly, but those brakes will not be touched. You will move, or you will die. 80,000 pounds at 70mph will win every time. STAY OUT OF THE ROADWAY.
It wasn’t long until the post began being shared by hundreds of people.
In fact, people began posting it as their own.
One such group that did this is called Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children (USMC).
The group made some edits to ramp up the intensity even further, and then posted it for their Facebook followers about 15 hours after Staite made the original post.
The USMC post spread even more quickly than the fires rioters have set in cities throughout the U.S. in recent days.
At time of publishing, USMC’s post has been shared more than 525,000 times with more than 78,000 comments.

The reaction to Staite’s message provoked intense debate on both sides of the argument.
Most commenters have agreed wholeheartedly, while others reprimanded Staite’s sentiments as incendiary and potentially dangerous.
Despite the accusations, Staite rejects the notion that he is “inciting” the very violence his message condemns.
“I don’t believe drivers should be plowing into crowds. We support peaceful protesting. What we don’t support is the rioting, the looting, and especially the attacks on the trucks,” he said.
In fact, Staite says the truckers he knows are “just as outraged as the rest of the wold” about Floyd’s death.
“Truckers are there for peaceful protesters,” he declared.
If starting a conversation was Staite’s mission, we’d say the results are in, and it’s mission accomplished.

Red Sovine Phantom 309 Lyrics
I was out on the West Coast, tryin' to make a
buck
And things didn't work out, I was down on my luck
Got tired a-roamin' and bummin' around
So I started thumbin' back East, toward my home town.
Made a lot of miles, the first two days
And I figured I'd be home in week, if my luck held out this way
But, the third night I got stranded, way out of town
At a cold, lonely crossroads, rain was pourin' down.
I was hungry and freezin', done caught a chill
When the lights of a big semi topped the hill Lord, I sure was glad to hear them air brakes come on
And I climbed in that cab, where I knew it'd be warm.
At the wheel sit a big man, he weighed about two-ten
He stuck out his hand and said with a grin
"Big Joe's the name", I told him mine
And he said: "The name of my rig is Phantom 309."
I asked him why he called his rig such a name
He said: "Son, this old Mack can put 'em all to shame
There ain't a driver, or a rig, a-runnin' any line
Ain't seen nothin' but taillights from Phantom 309."
Well, we rode and talked the better part of the night
When the lights of a truck stop came in sight
He said: "I'm sorry son, this is as far as you go
'Cause, I gotta make a turn, just on up the road."
Well, he tossed me a dime as he pulled her in low
And said: "Have yourself a cup on old Big Joe."
When Joe and his rig roared out in the night
In nothin' flat, he was clean out of sight.
Well, I went inside and ordered me a cup
Told the waiter Big Joe was settin' me up
Aw!, you coulda heard a pin drop, it got deathly quiet
And the waiter's face turned kinda white.
Well, did I say something wrong? I said with a halfway grin
He said: "Naw, this happens every now and then
Ever' driver in here knows Big Joe
But son, let me tell you what happened about ten years ago.
At the crossroads tonight, where you flagged him down
There was a bus load of kids, comin' from town
And they were right in the middle, when Big Joe topped the hill
It could have been slaughter, but he turned his wheel.
Well, Joe lost control, went into a skid A
nd gave his life to save that bunch-a kids
And there at that crossroads, was the end of the line
For Big Joe and Phantom 309
But, every now and then, some hiker'll come by
And like you, Big Joe'll give 'em a ride
Here, have another cup and forget about the dime
Keep it as a souvenir, from Big Joe and Phantom 309!"

Gov. Cuomo, grinning, says boyfriend he claimed to ‘like’ is ‘no longer with us’

It might be the governor’s favorite use of social distancing yet.
As his face began to morph into a wide smile, Gov. Cuomo said Thursday that his daughter’s boyfriend, whom he claimed to “like” during an off-the-rails April news conference, is no longer present in his family’s life.
“Let’s just say the boyfriend is no longer with us,” the 62-year-old governor said gravely, before smiling and then cackling as he spoke with Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show.”
On April 19, Cuomo said his daughter Mariah’s boyfriend was “very nice” before launching into a sermon on parenting.
The boyfriend cliff is looking pretty steep.

“Advice to fathers: The answer on what you think of the boyfriend is always ‘I like the boyfriend,’” Cuomo said. “Because there’s only two options. Either you like the boyfriend, in which case you say, ‘I like the boyfriend.’ Or you don’t like the boyfriend. But you can never say you don’t like the boyfriend.”
Opposition to the boyfriend creates “natural defiance syndrome,” Cuomo explained.
The rant became a coronavirus classic.
Maria DeCotis, a Brooklyn comedian, lip-synced audio from the remarks into a prop-filled viral video. (DeCotis, 28, said in the spring that she built the sketch on a simple premise: “There’s no way he could like the daughter’s boyfriend.”)
And Cuomo memorialized the moment on his pandemic poster over the summer, including a likeness of a young man hanging perilously from a rock face, the words “Boyfriend Cliff” floating in the stone.
In the episode of “The Late Show,” Colbert asked Cuomo, “Is the boyfriend still the boyfriend?”
The grinning governor’s response left Colbert laughing.

Kennedy Jr. during a radio interview in New Rochelle, New York Tuesday, May 17, 1989. Kennedy told listeners he would have no complaints if housing for the homeless was arranged in Hyannisport. Mass.
