VERIFY: Yes, if you are fired for not getting a required vaccine, you can be denied unemployment benefits

Major corporations like Disney and Walmart say they will require COVID-19 vaccines for some employees. In general, those fired for refusing can't get unemployment.

WASHINGTON — Individuals across the United States are working to navigate this newest phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which vaccines are readily available but the rapidly spreading Delta variant is ravaging communities.

Vaccination rates are slowly increasing, but a Kaiser Family Foundation survey found there are still millions of Americans who would only get vaccinated against COVID-19 if it was required. Some companies, like Disney, Google and Walmart, have decided to lend a hand in pushing up vaccination rates by requiring certain employees to show proof of vaccination.

Some who refuse may be looking forward to the support of unemployment benefits while they look for a new job that doesn't require vaccines. But, for many of them, that might not be an option.

THE QUESTION

If your employer requires proof of a COVID vaccine, and you refuse and are fired, can you be denied unemployment benefits?

THE SOURCES

Diane Seltzer, Principal, The Seltzer Law Firm

John T. Harrington, Principal, The Employment Law Group

THE ANSWER

Yes. In most areas of the United States, if you are fired for breaking a company policy, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits and payments.

WHAT WE FOUND

Unemployment payments are afforded to Americans who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. When a business closes or issues mass layoffs, the people who are let go are often eligible for weekly benefits.

However, someone fired for breaking a company policy, big or small, can be denied benefits, employment attorney John T. Harrington explains.

"Even something as simple as a dress code that says you have to wear a tie, and that's the company's policy, and you say, 'I don't believe in wearing a tie, so I'm not going to do it.' That's insubordination," Harrington said. "It's misconduct, and it would likely disqualify you from receiving unemployment benefits."

RELATED: US jobless claims down 24,000 to 400,000 as economy recovers

If a company's vaccination policy, and the repercussions for breaking that policy, are made clear to employees, the reason for disqualification is the same as if they had broken any other company rule. This is also dependent on whether the person filing for unemployment is honest about their termination and whether the company cares enough to verify it.

"In every claim for unemployment benefits, the employer has an opportunity to present the reasons for the separation. And an employer can choose not to respond," attorney Diane Seltzer said. "So if an employee is not truthful or not completely transparent when they apply for benefits, and the employer chooses not to contest it, the employee might get the benefits based on what they're representing."

Harrington said there are really only two ways to avoid a vaccination requirement: a medical or religious exemption. In both cases, he said exemptions are determined with employers on a case-by-case basis. One employee with a religious exemption in a company does not mean the rules change for anyone else.

"We have received numerous inquiries from clients and potential clients about how courts are likely to view these situations," Harrington says, "we've been advising them that if you have one of these two valid reasons to believe that you should be exempt from a vaccination requirement, you should assert them. But otherwise, companies are entitled to require that employees be vaccinated."

Vaccine-Resistant Epsilon Variant of Covid-19 Detected in Pakistan, Raises Alarm For India

Researchers have said that the Epsilon strain of Covid-19 is resistant to all available vaccines.

New Delhi: Another variant of coronavirus, Epsilon, which was first identified in California in 2020, has reached closer to home. The highly transmissible covid variant has been recently detected in Pakistan, making it a cause of concern for India, which shares its border with the country. Researchers have said that the Epsilon strain of Covid-19 is resistant to all available vaccines. Also Read - Karnataka School Reopening Update: CM Basavaraj Bommai Likely To Take Final Decision Tomorrow

Punjab health authorities have been alerted amid a massive spike in cases in Pakistan. At least five cases of the Epsilon variant were detected in Lahore, the Dawn reported. Also Read - 6 Children Found Covid Positive Days After Haryana Schools Reopen

All You Need to Know About Epsilon Variant

Although it is not a new variant, Epsilon strain – also known as the CAL.20C – is believed to be the second-most active covid variant in New York, USA. It has, however, reached South Asia for the first time. Also Read - School Reopening News: Top Virologist Suggests Schools to Reopen in Phases With Vaccinated Staff

The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) had earlier declared it a ‘’Variant of Concern’ but was later revised to a ‘Variant of Interest’. However, on July 6, the World Health Organisation (WHO) designated it under ‘alerts for further monitoring’.

Epsilon variant has also been identified in 34 nations apart from the US.

Epsilon Variant: A Major Concern

According to a study at the University of Washington, the variant has been found to be 20 per cent more transmissible than the preceding covid strains. The Epsilon variant is said to be almost as highly transmissible as the Delta variant, which raged during the second wave of pandemic in India.

The Epsilon variant is also being seen as the cause for the fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan, triggering an alarm for India amid predictions of a third wave.

As on Sunday morning, Pakistan logged 5,029 Covid-19 cases, the highest since April 29, when the country reported a total of 5,112 infections.

Repeat after me: “The PCR tests don’t work!”

The pandemic is only as real as the test, and test is a dice role.

The PCR tests don’t work to diagnose active infection with covid19.

We all keep saying that don’t we, but we don’t seem able to grasp what it means, because even though we know PCR tests don’t work to diagnose infection we keep accepting all the statistics that are produced as a result of assuming PCR tests diagnose infection.

We say – “0h wow, covid numbers rising despite the lockdown”. Or “massive spike in people getting covid in THIS care home despite precautions”. Or “look the ‘vax’ doesn’t work because people who get it still catch covid”.

No. Wrong. They’re not “covid numbers”, they’re positive-test numbers. It’s not a spike in people ‘getting Covid’ in the care home, it’s a spike of people testing positive. The people who get the vax don’t “still catch covid”, they still test positive.

And the reason why these ‘anomalies’ happen, the reason why vaxxed people can still test positive, etc etc is the same reason a papaya can test positive – because the PCR tests don’t work.

We know it but keep forgetting it. So let’s say it again.

The PCR tests don’t work.

The PCR tests. Don’t. Work.

We all know the danger of false positives if too many cycles are run. This is admitted even by Fauci.

If you run your tests at 30 cycles or more the results are very likely to be junk and any positives meaningless. And, incredibly, most labs performing these tests have been doing just that – running cycles of 30 or more, even up to 45.

But this well known and important fact hides the even more important fact that even when the tests are done properly they still don’t work – in that they are not designed to do what they are being used for.

They don’t diagnose infection or detect active infection. They aren’t, for the most part, even specific for SARSCOV2. They just look to see if you have some random fragments of RNA in your body that someone has identified as being similar to some types of assumed viral RNA.

Even if the test truly finds this stuff inside you, and isn’t just spewing out nonsense from having its cycle threshold set too high, there is literally nothing to show this bit of junk has anything to do with your runny nose, sore throat, pneumonia or death. It might, but much more likely does not.

They weren’t even designed using real viral RNA from the (alleged) Sars-Cov-2 virus. They used “synthetic RNA” or “contrived sources”, because there were no isolated samples of Sars-Cov-2 available.

The CDC says that the 59 different PCR tests on the market can’t have their performance` compared…because they all used different “contrived samples” for their production.

So, in terms of diagnosis or epidemiology, the information we get is little better than if we took a six-sided die, labeled one side ‘positive’ and five sides ‘negative’ and started rolling.

Looked at like that, the mystery of post-vaccine “breakthrough infections” or “repeat infections” or “lockdown spikes” etc is not so mysterious is it? Turns out there’s one simple answer to all of them.

Why can you test positive and then negative and then positive again on the same day?

Over 45,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 jabs: attorney

‘If you are under 30, the vaccine has a substantially higher risk of killing you than saving you,’ alleged Ohio attorney Thomas Renz, citing data from whistleblowers who have come forward to challenge the prevailing COVID-19 narrative.

An attorney stated today that over 45,000 people in the USA have died as a result of the experimental COVID-19 vaccines.

At the Stop the Shot Conference hosted by the Truth for Health Foundation and live-streamed by LifeSiteNews on August 4, Ohio-based attorney Thomas Renz dropped bombshell data suggesting that deaths associated with the COVID-19 shots have been greatly underreported while adverse events have been largely ignored.

Renz, the lead attorney in several major federal lawsuits addressing medical freedom in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions and mandates, cited a growing number of whistleblowers who have reported data indicating that the risks from the experimental COVID-19 shots currently being mandated are far higher than reported.

Renz noted that one expert whistleblower found based on data analysis that at least 45,000 deaths have been connected with the current experimental COVID-19 drugs.

The finding, which Renz says is likely itself a grave underestimation, forms the foundation of a federal lawsuit filed by Renz on behalf of America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) against the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

In addition, despite clinical trials which Renz says have found that children have a 1 in 1000 chance of paralysis from taking the injections, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has chosen not to investigate the connection.

Meanwhile, Renz said the data indicates the shots are far more dangerous than they are helpful for young adults.

“If you are under 30, the vaccine has a substantially higher risk of killing you than saving you,” he said.

Smith County affidavit: FBI agent exposed himself to juveniles in Texas, Louisiana, Florida

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - An FBI supervisory special agent based in Louisiana allegedly exposed himself to multiple children and molested one child in a period from 2018 to 2019, and the alleged crimes took place in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, according to a Smith County affidavit.

The suspect in the case is David Lee Harris, 51. Of Prairieville, Louisiana. A previous story by WAFB said the allegations involve underage girls.

During a previous court hearing, prosecutors said Harris threatened at least one of the victims if she said anything.

In Smith County, Harris, an FBI special supervisory agent, has been charged with third-degree felony indecent exposure.

The Smith County affidavit was obtained by a Texas Ranger. The Ranger on the case was contacted by a senior special agent with the United States Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General after the OIG’s office requested help on an alleged indecency with a child case that was reported on February 9.

The senior special agent with the OIG’s office told the Texas Range that the report had been received concurrently by the DOJOIG and the United States Army Department of the Army because Harris was employed by both the FBI and the U.S. Army at the time of the alleged offenses.

The recent WAFB story stated Harris is assigned to the FBI field office in New Orleans. The story also said he had recently been appointed to head up a regional division of the FBI that investigates online crimes against children, including child pornography.

According to the Army report, one of the alleged incidents occurred at a rental home in St. George Island, Florida in 2019 when Harris’ family and another family were vacationing. Harris allegedly took off all of his clothes at a pool party and started swimming in full view of two juveniles.

When Harris was confronted about it, he allegedly apologized and blamed his actions on being drunk.

The man who reported the “skinny dipping” incident told authorities he found a letter from his wife that was addressed to someone he believes is Harris that talked about the sexual relationship they had while they were married to other people.

In the letter, the man’s wife stated that Harris exposed himself in of two juveniles, the affidavit stated.

Based on the above information, a detective with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Florida interviewed the woman who had allegedly had an affair with Harris. She told the detective that she believed Harris exposed himself to her juvenile daughter on multiple occasions, both at her home in Tyler and at Harris’ home in Louisiana.

According to the affidavit, the woman described another “skinny dipping” incident that occurred at her pool in Tyler in July 2018 when her daughter was 13.

During the interview, the woman explained that the actual victim in Florida was one of her daughter’s friends who had been vacationing with them.

On February 26, the Texas Ranger and the DOJOIG senior special agent observed a forensic interview with the woman’s juvenile daughter at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County.

US Military Report Warns ISIS Will Operate ‘Indefinitely’

The US justifies its presence in Iraq and Syria by inflating the threat of ISIS, but the group holds no significant territory

The US military published a quarterly report on ISIS to Congress on Tuesday that said the group is a “low-level” threat but warned it could operate “indefinitely” in the remote deserts of Syria.

The US presence in Iraq and Syria is under the umbrella of the US-led anti-ISIS coalitions. Washington does not want to give up its occupation of either country, so even though ISIS no longer holds significant territory, the US military has an interest in inflating the threat from the group.

“Coalition partners in Iraq and Syria continued to rely on Coalition support to conduct operations, and ISIS remained entrenched as a low-level insurgency,” the Pentagon’s inspector general wrote in an introduction to the report.

According to the report, US Central Command said ISIS “likely has sufficient manpower and resources to operate indefinitely at its present level in the Syrian desert.” CENTCOM also identified ways that the “desert environment limits the capacity of ISIS to grow or strengthen its insurgency there.”

The US has about 900 troops in northeast Syria. On paper, the US mission is to help the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces fight ISIS. But the occupation is also part of Washington’s economic warfare against the government in Damascus. On top of crippling sanctions, the region of Syria where US troops are deployed is where most of the country’s oil fields are, keeping the vital resource out of the hands of Damascus.

The Biden administration recently announced it is ending the US “combat” mission in Iraq by the end of this year. But the US will keep troops in the country under an advisory role. There are currently about 2,500 US troops in Iraq, and it’s not clear how many will be pulled out once the mission is changed.

Besides supporting the Iraqi government in its fight against ISIS, the US occasionally bombs Iraq’s Shia militias, who are sworn enemies of ISIS, and fought on the same side as Washington during major battles from 2014 to 2017.

Senate in talks to quickly pass infrastructure bill

Senators are aiming to wrap up a bipartisan infrastructure bill as soon as Thursday, though they cautioned it could slip into the weekend.

The attempt to move at warp speed isn’t final, and would take the agreement of all 100 senators. And with the bill still needing a Congressional Budget Office score, some senators said passing it on Saturday, the day they were already expected to have a key test vote, was more likely.

But the effort to speed up both the completion of the roughly $1 trillion bipartisan bill and the budget that tees up Democrats’ $3.5 trillion spending package comes amid a growing urgency to get out of town for a weeks-long summer break and the view that the outcome of the days-long infrastructure debate is largely set in stone.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), asked about a possible vote on Thursday to pass the bipartisan deal, described it as in flux but said that senators didn’t see a point in dragging out their two-part debate.

“Everybody understands that right behind this is going to be the budget and I don’t think anybody is looking to extend this out any longer than necessary,” Cornyn told reporters after a meeting of key senators.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said there was a “slight possibility” that the Senate could finish the bipartisan bill on Thursday night.

“The odds are probably against that happening but it’s not outside the realm of possibility,” Collins said.

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) said it was “more reasonable” to think the vote on the bipartisan bill was going to be on Saturday but that there was a “push” to get it done on Thursday night.

Democrats want to complete two pieces of their infrastructure debate before they leave for an August break: The roughly $1 trillion bipartisan bill and the budget resolution that includes instructions for drafting Democrats’ $3.5 trillion spending package, which they will try to pass without GOP support.

One of the sticking points for passing the bipartisan deal on Thursday is that they are still awaiting on an analysis from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on how much of the bipartisan deal is payed for.

“There’s a number of things we need to do to be prepared,” Cornyn said.

Thune added that the score was expected to be out on Thursday afternoon and said “we’ve got to get a score before we vote.”

Republicans huddled in GOP Leader Mitch McConnell’s (Ky.) office on Thursday morning to discuss the schedule.

The meeting comes as Democratic and Republican leadership are in negotiations about how to wrap up the bipartisan deal.

Without an agreement, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) could move to end debate as soon as Thursday, setting up a key test where he will need 60 votes as soon as Saturday.

The Senate, without an agreement, would still have to burn up to 60 additional hours before they could get to a final vote. How to handle that time is at the center of the Senate talks.

DOJ launches probe of Phoenix police department

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is launching a probe of the city of Phoenix and its police department, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke announced Thursday afternoon.

This is the third pattern-of-practice investigation that DOJ has launched during Garland's tenure and the first probe since Clarke became head of the agency’s powerful civil rights division at the end of May.

“I have noted that these investigations aim to promote transparency and accountability,” Garland said. “This increases public trust, which in turn increases public safety. We know that law enforcement shares these goals.”

Government-Funded Researchers Sought Aborted Minorities for Organ Harvesting

Taxpayers shelled out nearly $3 million to build organ 'pipeline' at University of Pittsburgh

The federal government gave at least $2.7 million in taxpayer money to researchers who sought out minority babies who had been aborted in order to harvest their organs, according to internal documents released Tuesday.

The University of Pittsburgh targeted minorities in its request for infant organs—including those taken from full-term babies—to create a "pipeline" for fetal research. Researchers said they needed 50 percent of the donated fetuses to be minorities and specified that 25 percent must come from black women. The Pittsburgh metropolitan area is 85 percent white and 8 percent black. Researchers stressed the importance of maintaining organ blood flow in the request, which watchdogs say could violate federal law by asking doctors to illegally preserve organs during labor-inducing abortions.

The National Institutes of Health has overseen experiments on fetal organs at the University of Pittsburgh since 2015 in what the school claimed to be a "tissue hub." Aborted babies used in this research ranged from 6 to 42 weeks of gestation, according to government documents. The grant request from the university to the government agency redacts key information, including how many fetuses were obtained and who provided them. Its language, however, raised troubling questions.

David Daleiden, founder and president of the pro-life Center for Medical Progress, called on the federal government to investigate the NIH and Pitt after obtaining more than 300 pages of information related to the program through a public records request.

"The experiments with aborted infants at the University of Pittsburgh, sponsored by the NIH, are like Kermit Gosnell's house of horrors, but this time funded by the federal government," Daleiden told the Washington Free Beacon. "It was systemic bias and abortion extremism that permitted Gosnell to evade the law for so long, and the same thing is happening in Pittsburgh. These atrocities deserve the full response of law enforcement and government officials—law enforcement should put a stop to it and arrest the perpetrators."

The NIH did not respond to a request for comment.

The fetal research focused on harvested kidneys. The University of Pittsburgh said fetuses should have minimized "warm ischemic time"—a medical term to describe the time that an organ is without blood flow. It also lists "labor induction" as a utilized abortion procedure to obtain the organs.

"There’s the distinct possibility that some of these babies are born alive and then their organs and tissues are removed," Dr. David Prentice, vice president and research director of the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute, told the Free Beacon. "This is horrific—almost medieval. It is certainly antiquated science."

Federal law bans the purchasing of aborted fetuses, which must be donated for research. It is illegal to request how donated fetuses are to be aborted. A university spokesman said researchers played no role in the "timing, method, or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy."

‘Armed and Dangerous’: Inside the ’Ndrangheta’s Intercontinental Cocaine Pipeline

In the first part of this investigation, we explored how the ’Ndrangheta syndicate moved cocaine across Europe. Now, we examine their pipeline through Latin America and Africa, showing how the highly-connected Giuseppe Romeo moved drugs through corruption-plagued ports to Antwerp, Rotterdam, and beyond.

The son of a leading figure in the feared ’Ndrangheta’s Romeo-Staccu clan, Giuseppe Romeo built his own cocaine empire after his father was jailed for 30 years.

Known as “Maluferru,” he sourced drugs in Colombia and Brazil, had them shipped to West Africa, and then oversaw their collection on the docks of Europe.

Maluferru used his connections among the dozens of ‘Ndrangheta clans in San Luca, a small town in Italy’s boot that is the birthplace of the feared criminal gang.

In Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Maluferru’s gang allegedly relied on corrupt officials — and emissaries sent all the way from Italy — to facilitate their operations.

In his younger years, the Italian drug trafficker Giuseppe Romeo, known as “Maluferru,” was fascinated with Mexican narcos.

In particular, police sources familiar with the trafficker say, he admired Los Zetas, the hyper-violent cartel known for beheadings, bombings, and brazen attacks on Mexican government troops.

But in real life, Maluferru and his brothers — all of whom worked with southern Italy’s ’Ndrangheta syndicate, the clan-based crime group which has grown to become the country’s most powerful in recent decades — showed no fear of Mexican narcos.

In one incident breathlessly recalled by underworld figures in 2016, his gang had a shootout with a Mexican gang on the streets of an unnamed European city, scaring them off.

“They started shooting three, four times in the middle of the road,” one ’Ndrangheta associate was heard telling another in a bugged chat. Another time, according to the same criminals, Maluferru let Mexican traffickers hold one of his own brothers hostage for eight days, as collateral for a 2-million-euro drug shipment.

This cold, calculating approach to business may run in the family.

Maluferru’s father, Antonio Romeo, ran the well-connected Romeo-Staccu clan of the ’Ndrangheta until he was arrested in the mid-1990s and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

After taking the reins of his family’s trafficking operations, Maluferru became a rare connector of worlds: a man with the necessary contacts in Latin America to secure huge supplies of cocaine, and in Europe to get the drugs through key ports.

As part of a group known in underworld circles as the “Gang of Belgium,” he sourced cocaine in Colombia and Brazil, had it shipped through the Ivory Coast, and brought it in through the docks of Northwest Europe: Antwerp, Hamburg, and Rotterdam. At every stop, he charmed and bullied other narcos into doing his bidding, and deployed tricks of the trade to conceal shipments that made him one of Calabria’s biggest-ever traffickers.

He had a reputation for keeping out of trouble. One client of his was heard on wiretaps saying admiringly that Maluferru had only once been “f**cked,” when 18 bricks of cocaine were seized from a stash house.

In Ahmedabad, a nanny hired to take care of a couple’s 11-month-old baby girl was arrested after she and her husband allegedly attempted to sell the infant to a Maharashtra-based human trafficker.

The couple, residents of Chandkheda in Ahmedabad, hired the nanny based on a referral from an NGO in Mumbai. The woman was hired on a salary of Rs 18,000 per month. Both the mother and father are IT professionals.

As per the complaint received by the police, the nanny’s conspiracy to sell the child came to the fore when the mother received a call from the West Bengal Police. They took a lot of information about the nanny and then asked whether the baby had gone missing.

FBI arrests Van Wert man, 71, on child porn charge

TOLEDO — A 71-year-old Van Wert man arrested last week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on child pornography charges made an appearance in U.S. District Court in Toledo on Monday.

John Charles Coy waived his right to a preliminary hearing and agreed to have his case bound over to a grand jury. He also waived his right to a detention hearing and consented to being held without bail.

A federal search warrant was executed by the Toledo FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force on Thursday at a residence in Ohio City, where Coy was known to be residing with his son. Coy was interviewed by law enforcement investigators, and that interview resulted in a probable cause arrest. Coy was taken into custody without incident, according to a statement from the FBI.

A complaint filed in U.S. District Court alleged that an initial tip was received in November 2020 by the Marion Police Department that Coy had engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile female and had produced child sexual abuse material.

An investigation was initiated by the Marion Police Department, which requested assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the FBI. Through the course of the investigation, additional information concerning Coy’s alleged conduct with additional juvenile females was obtained by law enforcement. The information received involved allegations of Coy taking and receiving sexual photos of juvenile females and engaging in sexual conduct with a juvenile female.

Over the course of the last eight months, according to the complaint, numerous state search warrants and subpoenas were issued on social media, cell phone service providers and digital storage providers identified as being Coy’s accounts. Multiple images of what is believed to be child pornography were obtained.

Coy is known to have coached juvenile female softball teams over the years in Marion and Van Wert counties. He is also known to have traveled as a truck driver in the region and is also known to have traveled on several occasions to the Philippines. Some of the images discovered by investigators were of nude girls from the Philippines who appeared to be underage.

Law enforcement is asking anyone that has a child that has interacted with Coy and they feel any of those interactions could have been sexually inappropriate or was an attempt to “groom” a minor for possible future sexual interaction to contact the FBI at 1-877-FBI-OHIO.

Biden Signs Executive Order To Make Half Of All Cars Sold Electric By 2030

President Biden Outlines Target of 50% Electric Vehicle Sales Share in 2030 / PRESS RELEASE, White House

President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal invest in the infrastructure, manufacturing, and incentives that we need to grow good-paying, union jobs at home, lead on electric vehicles around the world, and save American consumers money. Today, the President will announce a set of new actions aimed at advancing these goals and increasing the impact of his proposed Build Back Better investments – positioning America to drive the electric vehicle future forward, outcompete China, and tackle the climate crisis.

Specifically, the President will sign an Executive Order that sets an ambitious new target to make half of all new vehicles sold in 2030 zero-emissions vehicles, including battery electric, plug-in hybrid electric, or fuel cell electric vehicles. The Executive Order also kicks off development of long-term fuel efficiency and emissions standards to save consumers money, cut pollution, boost public health, advance environmental justice, and tackle the climate crisis.

In addition, and consistent with the President’s Day One Executive Order, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) will announce how they are addressing the previous administration’s harmful rollbacks of near-term fuel efficiency and emissions standards. Through these coordinated notices of proposed rulemaking, the two agencies are advancing smart fuel efficiency and emissions standards that would deliver around $140 billion in net benefits over the life of the program, save about 200 billion gallons of gasoline, and reduce around two billion metric tons of carbon pollution. For the average consumer, this means net benefits of up to $900 over the life of the vehicle in fuel savings.

These new actions – paired with the investments in the President’s Build Back Better Agenda – will strengthen American leadership in clean cars and trucks by accelerating innovation and manufacturing in the auto sector, bolstering the auto sector domestic supply chain, and growing auto jobs with good pay and benefits. That is why today, American automakers Ford, GM, and Stellantis and the United Auto Workers (UAW), will stand with President Biden at the White House with aligned ambition: supporting the President’s Build Back Better Agenda and the automakers’ need to invest in and grow good-paying union jobs in the United States.

UN Special Rapporteur on Torture: “Authorities Are Viewing Their Own People as an Enemy”

UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Nils Melzer responded to police brutality dished out to anti-lockdown protesters in Germany last weekend by warning, “Authorities are increasingly viewing their own people as an enemy.”

As we highlighted earlier in the week, Melzer, a professor of international law, made a request for eyewitnesses after footage emerged of numerous examples of people being manhandled and beaten by police in Berlin merely for expressing their right to assemble.

One clip showed a female anti-lockdown protester in Berlin being grabbed by the throat and brutally thrown to the ground by riot police, while another showed a young boy being struck in the face as he tried to come to the aid of his mother.

The response to Melzer’s request was overwhelming, with over a hundred reports of violence flooding in, leaving him with the task of “calling for clarification as well as punishment and reparation for rule violations,” reports Berliner Zeitung.

The professor says there is clearly enough evidence “for an official intervention on my part with the federal government.”

However, it was Melzer’s comments on the wider perspective of the crackdown that stirred the most interest.

After seeing similar scenes during anti-lockdown protests in European cities across the continent, as well as “police operations in demonstrations worldwide,” Melzer came to a sobering conclusion.

“Something fundamental is going wrong. In all regions of the world, the authorities are apparently increasingly viewing their own people as an enemy,” he stated.

How a network of UK intel-linked operatives helped sell every alleged Syrian chemical weapons attack

While Western media covers up their credibility issues, these pseudo-experts and spooks have helped drive the dirty war on Syria.

A tight-knit cast of characters has sought to destabilize the Syrian government by convincing Syrians, Western citizens, foreign states, and international bodies that the CIA-backed Free Syrian Army is a legitimate, “moderate” alternative, while flooding news across the globe with opposition propaganda.

Its key actors have also played a central part in high-profile chemical weapon deceptions, participating in the attacks’ staging, generating media coverage, orchestrating official investigations and even legal actions, all with the clear goal of cultivating Western support for regime change.

Despite facing official investigation into corrupt practices and being exposed for serious credibility issues, these figures have been treated with adulation by a Western mainstream media that appears just as committed to destabilizing Syria as they have been.

One of the most prominent among this group of self-proclaimed experts is supposed chemical weapons specialist Hamish de Bretton-Gordon. Previously Commanding Officer of the UK CBRN Regiment and NATO’s Rapid Reaction CBRN Battalion, his past deployments have included spells in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Cyprus, Kosovo, and Iraq.

Once upon a time, de Bretton Gordon’s Twitter profile identified him as a member of 77th Brigade, the British Army’s shadowy psychological warfare division, which maintains a vast militia of real, fake and automated social media accounts that it deploys to disseminate propaganda in support of UK Foreign Office objectives, and discredit government critics.

Chillingly, official Army doctrine states the Brigade is “notably” key to the purported “grey zone between peace and war” that informs UK military thinking in the 21st century. The designation was removed from de Bretton-Gordon’s Twitter account after this journalist drew attention to it.

In British media, de Bretton-Gordon is portrayed as a gallant human rights hero who is responsible for “training local doctors how to treat gas attacks and risking his life on battlefields, to convincing world leaders to take threats seriously.”

A glowing Times of London profile features a photo of de Bretton- Gordon posing beside a hunting trophy and a well-stocked bar in his elegant country home, clad in a desert camo-colored smoking jacket. The article opens with the following passage: “Beneath the smoke-hazed starlight of the desert night, a young tank captain waited for his moment of war. He was a romantic man and it was his first conflict.”

Another clip of the same crater, said to have been broadcast by “local” media, portrayed the damaged outer jacket of a barrel bomb lying next to the aforementioned crater, animal carcasses strewn nearby. Expert scrutiny of the clip reinforced the JIM’s ruling that no barrel bomb attack had occurred. Indeed, the bodies of the animals were said to be “clean and intact,” making it “highly unlikely” they were in close vicinity to whatever actually caused the crater when it exploded. Moreover, analysis of the video’s metadata found it was created one day before the alleged incident – and yet another clip depicting the same courtyard was disregarded due to “signs of heavy editing.”

As a result of these “inconsistencies”, location #1 was excluded entirely from the JIM’s investigation. Why all other CBRN Taskforce submissions were not automatically discounted remains unclear.

Further, how an individual or organization that supplied provably fraudulent material has been permitted to play any role whatsoever in multiple inquiries into alleged chemical weapon attacks in Syria by international bodies ever since remains a highly disquieting riddle.

Citizen journalism and civil rescuers, made by the UK Foreign Office

The report’s reference to “local” – or opposition – media having broadcast one of the bogus videos supplied by de Bretton Gordon’s Taskforce is also conspicuous when considering that British intelligence may well have created the outlet, in addition to helping mock up the clips.

Internal UK Foreign Office files released by a self-proclaimed hacktivist collective Anonymous in September 2020 reveal that ARK, a shadowy “conflict transformation and stabilization consultancy” headed by probable MI6 operative Alistair Harris, trained and equipped hundreds of citizen journalists in Syria over many years.

“Activists” were tutored in “camera handling, lighting, sound, interviewing, filming a story,” post-production techniques including “video and sound editing and software, voice-over, scriptwriting,” and “graphics and 2D and 3D animation design and software.”

ARK’s students were even instructed in practical propaganda theory – namely “target audience identification, qualitative and quantitative techniques, media and media narrative analysis and monitoring,” “behavioral identification/understanding,” “campaign planning,” “behavior, behavioral change, and how communications can influence it [emphasis added],” and more.

Content these “stringers” created was disseminated via “TV, FM radio, social media [platforms] and print material [including] posters, magazines and comics” established by ARK, in order to “promote the moderate opposition” within and without the country.

The company stated that it “frequently directs and connects international journalists” – working for the BBC, CNN, Guardian, New York Times and Reuters, among others – “to appropriate opposition figures.” In turn, ARK was “regularly approached” by the opposition Syrian National Council for “media handling advice,” including in the wake of the highly suspicious August 2013 chemical strike in Ghouta.

ARK’s most well-known creation was the supposed rescue group known as the White Helmets. The contractor spearheaded an “internationally-focused communications campaign designed to raise global awareness” of the supposed first responders and “keep Syria in the news” for several years.

“The big question is whether it was chlorine or sarin. I am favoring a mix of the two,” he hypothesized. De Bretton-Gordon then argued that if Washington subsequently launched airstrikes on Damascus – which happened three days later – it would be “an indication of irrefutable evidence” of Syrian government culpability for the attack.

On April 16th, he reiterated this view to the Daily Mail. The same article also quoted a White Helmet operative’s firm dismissal of chlorine as the agent responsible.

“Sarin you breathe and it kills you. There were many who died on the stairs. If it was chlorine, they could’ve escaped. But they died after just taking a few steps,” they said.

Chemically, a combination of chlorine and sarin makes no sense as a weapon, as chlorine compounds would simply decompose the nerve agent outright in the event they were successfully stored in the same container.

Of course, de Bretton-Gordon may have spoken out of pure ignorance. He has an extensive history of issuing headline-grabbing, unscientific claims, including warning of the potential threat of jihadists returning to the UK from Syria using components from household fridges to construct IEDs. There was also the time he claimed the Russian military could employ novichok hand grenades on battlefields.

Another interpretation may be that de Bretton-Gordon was attempting to explain away the looming, irresolvable disconnect between symptoms exhibited by victims of the alleged strike and the FFM’s actual chemical findings. Given the inevitable paradox created by that massive discrepancy, resolving this quandary was surely of supreme concern to all invested in the event’s staging.

Alternatively, there’s the question of whether de Bretton-Gordon himself had been concocting samples containing chlorine and sarin. The findings of an OPCW Investigation and Identification Team (IIT) probe into an alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city of Saraqib in February 2018 made clear someone was cooking up evidence in this manner.

The inquiry, which ruled the Syrian government had dropped “at least” one cylinder containing chlorine on the city, depended entirely on a May 2018 OPCW FFM investigation of the incident, which arrived at the same conclusion.

FFM staffers didn’t actually visit the site of the purported strike, and all samples reviewed were provided by the White Helmets. The IIT report claims that they contained both chlorine- and sarin-related chemicals.

Strikingly, the IIT recorded that it would be “difficult” to fill a cylinder with both chemicals, so it explored the question of whether “cross-contamination” may have occurred during the sampling process, “or at a later stage in the handling of the samples themselves.”

Completely Despicable: Pravda NY Times Calls Notorious TERRORIST and 9/11 Mastermind Osama Bin Laden a “Devoted Family Man”

Remember when the Washington Post glorified an evil terrorist as an “austeer religious scholar?”

Well the New York Times just told them: ” Hold my beer”

In an unexplainable and abhorrent headline, the NY Times actually referred to Osama Bin Laden, one of the most notorious terrorists and the man responsible for 2,977 Americans dying on 9/11, as a “devoted family man.”

Yes, in case you were wondering, their slogan still reads “All the news that’s fit to print.”

The article, written by Louise Richardson, was a review of Peter Bergen’s book “The Rise and Fall of Usama bin Laden.” Richardson seems to admire the “man” behind countless terror attacks, and calls the book a “page-turner that weaves back and forth between the man and the terrorist.”

She writes: “Two of bin Laden’s attributes that shine through in Bergen’s account are his extraordinary self-belief and the ways in which he modeled his life on that of the Prophet Muhammad. Rather than try to explain where bin Laden’s self-confidence came from, Bergen simply describes it. It is all the more fascinating as a result”

She compares bin Laden to other “revolutionaries” and cites his inability to “articulate a positive vision” as to why the rest of the world could not get on board with the dictatorship that he was using terrorism to create.

Her disdain for America is also apparent, but hey she wouldn’t be a writer for the New York Times if it wasn’t.

“In all of his speeches and papers, bin Laden, like most revolutionaries, never articulated a positive vision of the new world he wished to create. The American counterrevolutionaries, for their part, invariably stretched the emergency powers they were accorded”

Robert J O’Neill, the former Navy Seal who killed bin Laden, ridiculed the outlet in over their coverage of the former AL Queda leader.
