ARS 41-1154 is the crux statute in Borrelli’s filing. As we reported yesterday https://t.me/LibertyOverwatchChannel/5170, it classifies disobedience of a legislative subpoena as a class 2 misdemeanor. According to SB 1487 https://t.me/LibertyOverwatchChannel/5159, General Brnovich is obligated to investigate any alleged violations of the law by a county if a member of the state legislature makes a formal request.
Although Senator Townsend voiced skepticism (https://t.me/LibertyOverwatchChannel/5170) about the AG’s enforcement authority with respect to legislative subpoenas, Borrelli remains optimistic: “this was pretty much handed to him on a silver platter… the statute is pretty clear - disobedience of a [legislative] subpoena is a class 2 misdemeanor.” Borrelli added, “I’m hoping we’ll see something [from the AG’s office] within the next 7 days.”
