Arizona state Sen. Tony Navarrete accused of sexual conduct with a minor

A state senator is in serious trouble with the law. Phoenix Police officials confirm to Arizona's Family Sen. Tony Navarrete, a Democrat from Phoenix, was arrested on Thursday, on allegations of having sexual conduct with a child. Investigators said the crimes happened in 2019 but wouldn't release any other details. Navarrete faces multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor, among other charges, police said.

Democrats confirmed one of their senators was taken into custody. "We are aware one of our members has been arrested and are awaiting further details and for law enforcement to do its job. We will not have further comment at this time," Senate Democrats said in a statement.

The arrest of Navarrete comes just days after the vaccinated senator confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19 in a break through case. The results came from a rapid test on July 27 and a PCR COVID-19 test on July 29. He said in a Facebook post his symptoms are mild and urged everyone to get the COVID-19 vaccine. "I know that people are tired and frustrated, but it's time to mask up again," he added.

In 2016, Navarrete was first elected to the state House of Representatives and represented District 30. Two years later, voters elected him to the state Senate for District 30. He was re-elected in 2020. When he's not at the state Capitol, he's the deputy director of Promise Arizona, a community based nonprofit.

>New Executive Office Building

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Executive_Office_Building

The New Executive Office Building (NEOB) is a U.S. federal government office building in Washington, D.C., for the executive branch.

The building is located at 725 17th Street NW, on the north side of Pennsylvania Avenue. To the south is the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB), which is next to the White Houseโ€•the EEOB before 1999 was known as the Old Executive Office Building. The other sides are bounded by 17th Street NW (west), H Street NW (north), and Jackson Place and Lafayette Park (east). Within the same block are several buildings: Blair House, Trowbridge House, and Renwick Gallery in the south and the Decatur House to the north.

Known as Federal Office Building #7, it was built from 1965 to 1969 and is ten stories tall, double the height of the EEOB. According to Michael J. Bednar of the University of Virginia School of Architecture, "Four taller office buildings dating to earlier in the 20th century were demolished and replaced with next rowhouse office builds. One has an open base to serve as an entry to the New Executive Office Building via courtyard. The historic structures were preserved and rehabilitated for smaller federal agencies. The New Executive Office Building has an offset H-shaped plan with a long brick facade along 17th Street."

The building was designed by architect John Carl Warnecke, who also designed 722 Jackson Place and the National Courts Building (717 Madison Place) on the opposite side of Lafayette Park during the same period. Warnecke sought to "harmonize [the structures] with Lafayette Square's historic character and retained the domestic facades but joined the separate interiors."

According to Shelley Lynne Tomkin in Inside OMB, most Office of Management and Budget civil service employees work in the NEOB, while most OMB political appointees work across the street in the EEOB.
