Public Interest Declassification Board recommends public release of key 9/11 records

Ezra A. Cohen @EzraACohen·Aug 6

Last week the bipartisan Public Interest Declassification Board, following a multi-month review, recommended to President Biden that the administration prioritize the declassification and public release of a number of key historical records related to the 9/11 attacks.

“Without your leadership in prioritizing these important documents for review and release, the public record of the 9/11 attacks will remain incomplete, just as the public discussion turns to remember and assess the consequences of those events.”

Thank you to @USNatArchives, Commissioner Jamie Gorelick, Philip Zelikow, and many others who assisted the PIDB with this review.

>Public Interest Declassification Board recommends public release of key 9/11 records

Senator Bob Menendez @SenatorMenendez·Aug 5

The families of 9/11 victims want answers on whether the U.S. government possesses any documents that may implicate Saudi Arabia or anyone else in the events of Sept. 11. They want justice. They want accountability. But without transparency, they will be denied all three.

Honored to stand with them today, along with @SenSchumer and @SenBlumenthal to introduce our September 11th Transparency Act to help them get the justice they deserve. Twenty years is far too long.

Democratic senators and families of victims of the 9/11 attacks called on Thursday for the Biden administration to declassify and make available key documents related to Saudi Arabia’s role
