Infrastructure Bill Comes to Grinding Halt After Amendment Fight

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) effort to have the Senate vote on the $1.2 trillion infrastructure fell apart Thursday night after many lawmakers objected.

Schumer wanted to expedite the Senate floor proceedings that could have led to a quick passage of the bill on Saturday; however, Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) said that he could not consent to the bill’s advancement because of the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) dismal score of the mammoth, 2,702-page legislation.

“We very much want to finish this important bill, so we will reconvene Saturday at noon to vote [to overcome a filibuster], and then we will follow regular order to finish the bill,” Schumer said Thursday.

A spokesman for Hagerty said the senator “cannot in good conscience agree to expedite a process immediately after the CBO confirmed that the bill would add over a quarter of a trillion dollars to the deficit.”

The CBO found that the infrastructure bill would add $256 billion to the deficit, the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn-Wharton Budget Model found that the bill would have no “significant” impact on economic growth.

A Panicked Gavin Newsom Attacks Larry Elder, Leading Contender in California Recall

Califorina Gov. Gavin Newsom attacked conservative radio talk show host Larry Elder on Thursday during a Zoom call with campaign volunteers, targeting the candidate who is the leading contender to replace Newsom in many polls.

Newsom’s attack acknowledges Elder, a popular figure who has never run for public office before, as the leading threat to his tenure. Several recent polls show voters increasingly prepared to recall Newsom; the most recent showed a majority of likely California voters were prepared to remove Newsom from office — a reversal from earlier this year.

The Los Angeles Times reported:

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday attacked the Republican topping the field of candidates trying to replace him in the September recall election, calling conservative talk show host Larry Elder a climate change denier who would restrict abortion rights and end the minimum wage if elected.

For months Newsom has criticized the recall effort as the handiwork of far-right supporters of former President Trump and a Republican Party intent on undermining his election in 2018, shying away from personal attacks on the candidates hoping to take his place in Sacramento.

But in a Zoom call with volunteers working on his anti-recall campaign, Newsom hit out at Elder, calling him a major Trump supporter — a rallying cry in a state won overwhelmingly by President Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Newsom also accused Elder of being a threat to abortion rights established under the landmark Roe vs. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision in 1973.

'It's going to be a hot couple of weeks in Albany!' Trump tears into beleaguered NY Gov. Cuomo for his damning sex-pest probe and slams him for 'destroying NYC'

Donald Trump on Thursday night attacked the embattled governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo - saying he has 'got real problems' and faces an uncertain future.

The former president was speaking at a Republican fundraiser for the state party, held at his Briarcliff golf course in New York. The speech was attended by Trump's former lawyer Rudy Giuliani, accompanied by his son Andrew Giuliani - who is hoping to challenge Cuomo in November 2022.

'Cuomo's got real problems,' Trump said, mentioning Senate Republican Minority Leader Robert Ortt, who would participate in a Senate trial to remove Cuomo if the Assembly impeaches him.

'It's going to be a hot couple of weeks in Albany.

'Senator Ortt is going to have a great time.

'Cuomo has found himself in an interesting situation.'

Exclusive: California Democrats’ Audit-Proof Voter Fraud Mechanism Rolls Out Ahead of Newsom Recall Vote

It's hard enough for election fraud auditors to trace back what happened with the 2020 election. For California's gubernatorial recall election, it may be impossible to prove if the election is stolen.

While many states continue to battle over ballot audits from the 2020 presidential election, California will not have to worry about such things thanks in large part to a little-known loophole recently added to the books. Remote Accessible Vote By Mail (RAVBM) allows the state and any cheaters within the Secretary of State’s office to add however many ballots to the total that they need in order to keep Newsom in power. But unlike other states, California’s system makes it virtually untraceable.

As FFN co-founder Jeff Dornik noted on Twitter, they just made the change to the Orange County voting page.

Just last week, the page read, “The Remote Accessible Vote-By-Mail ballot provides voters with disabilities and overseas voters the option to request a Vote-By-Mail ballot to be delivered electronically. This is also available to voters affected by COVID-19. The electronic ballot can be downloaded to the voter’s computer, marked using the voter’s own assistive technology and then printed.”

It was bad enough to say that it was available to voters affected by COVID-19, but to make sure there was absolutely no ambiguity ahead of early voting which starts August 16, they changed that portion to include all voters. The sentence in question now reads, “This will also be available to all voters for the September 14, 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election beginning on August 16, 2021.”

The key to many of the audits in other states has been the forensic portion analyzing the ballots themselves. Auditors have been able to identify paper and ink on ballots that demonstrated they were not officially distributed by the Secretaries of State. In California, this type of audit will not be effective because those who engage in voter fraud can print out ballots using whatever paper or ink they choose.

It’s a nearly limitless avenue through which ballot-stuffing can take place and there’s no way to trace it back or disqualify the ballots. They literally just need to pre-print however many they think they’ll need and add them in on or after election night. Their Newsom problem will be solved with no recourse and nothing to investigate.

The program was rolled out as Remote Accessible Ballots for Eligible Voters (RABEV) to allow people out of state and those with disabilities to print out their own ballots marked electronically. They can then send them in with whatever envelopes they had available as long as they sign the outside. It was billed as an accessibility move, alleviating the need for disabled voters to seek assistance in order to vote. But Covid-19 has been used as the predicate to expand this easily manipulatable program to include all California voters.

California corruption is becoming more and more difficult to catch thanks to permanent Democratic rule in the state. They have the means to keep power no matter how badly they destroy the 5th biggest economy in the world.

Ashli Babbitt's family say they will sue Capitol police for $10million claiming the cop who shot her 'ambushed' her and gave no verbal command before pulling the trigger

The family of Ashli Babbitt, the Capitol rioter shot dead in the Rotunda, says they plan to sue the Capitol police for wrongful death and that the officer who killed her gave no verbal command before pulling the trigger.

Babbitt was the only person to be killed on January 6 when thousands of Trump supporters stormed Congress.

Her family say that video of her being shot proves that the plain clothed officer who did it did not issue a verbal command, and that the US Capitol Police is liable for her death.

They told The Washington Examiner they will sue for wrongful death and are seeking $10million in damages.

'It’s not debatable. There was no warning. I would call what he did an ambush. I don’t think he’s a good officer. I think he’s reckless,' her family's attorney Terry Roberts said.

Poll Shows Democrat Governor Newsom Losing Recall Election by Double Digits

Remember when Newsom blamed Q Anon conspiracies, Proud Boys and white supremacists for the origin of the recall effort?

It turns out Democrats, Independents and Republicans want him yanked from office.

A new left-leaning poll shows California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) losing the recall election by double digits.

51% of the people surveyed in a poll conducted from August 2 to August 4 were in favor of recalling Newsom, while only 40% wanted to keep him in the governor’s seat.Just a couple months ago, the same survey/poll found only 36% were in favor of recalling Newsom while 47% wanted him to stay in power.

The poll came from Survey USA and the San Diego Union Tribune, and was conducted among 1,100 Californians from Aug. 2 to Aug. 4. It found that 51% of respondents were in favor of recalling Newsom, while only 40% wanted to keep him in power. The previous Survey USA/San Diego Union Tribune poll from May found 36% in favor of the recall with 47% opposed.

Unlike a recent UC Berkeley/Los Angeles Time poll that was weighted by whether the respondent was likely to vote in the Sept. 14 recall election, the Survey USA carried no such weight, which is even more alarming for the governor. The Berkeley/Los Angeles Time poll found double-digit opposition to the recall, but a dead heat when weighted by likelihood to vote. Polls have consistently shown a large enthusiasm gap, strongly suggesting Republicans are more likely to turn out.

Two polls from Emerson College/Nexstar Media — one released in July, the other in August — showed clear movement away from Newsom over the past two weeks. The August Emerson/Nexstar poll, like the Berkeley/Los Angeles Times poll, showed a dead heat.

Earlier this week Newsom said the recall effort against him was “unfair.”
