Iran suffering from runaway energy consumption

Iran says the value of energy consumed nationally stands at as high as $136 billion per year, adding that this is four times higher than the average global standards.

.

Figures previously released by media showed that around 20 percent of electricity produced at power plants is wasted before reaching consumers. This is more than two times the electricity waste rate in Europe.

Also, the annual consumption level in the urban sector in Iran is around 500 kilowatt per hour for each square meter. This is this is more than three times the level consumed in urban sector in Europe.

Why Russia might have turned its back on Iran in Syria

Russia on May 11, 2018, reportedly declined to export its advanced S-300 missile defense system to Syria despite a high tempo of international and Israeli airstrikes peppering the country over the last few months, in the latest sign that Moscow has turned its back on Iran in the country.

..

Despite the near constant stream of powerful countries bombing targets in Syria, and Syria's weak attempts to defend against the attacks, Russian President Vladimir Putin's aide in charge of foreign military assistance said Syria had "everything it needs."
