Iceland Experiences Major COVID Spike Despite Having Highly Vaccinated Population

The country is experiencing its worst outbreak since March with the bulk of the cases among vaccinated individuals.

Iceland is currently experiencing a massive spike in COVID cases despite having one of the world’s most vaccinated populations. The country with a total population of just over 350,000 has recorded at least 100 new cases for five straight days, beginning on August 3. The current spike in cases has been ongoing since mid-July . Since then, the country has been registering anywhere from 50-150 cases daily.

Before the current outbreak, Iceland was recording a very low amount of cases. Prior to the current spike from mid-July onwards, the island nation was posting new cases in the single digits. Now they are dealing with their worst outbreak since late March, according to covid.is data.

Among Iceland’s current COVID surge, there is a high number of fully vaccinated individuals testing positive for the virus. On August 5, 77 of Iceland’s 106 new COVID cases were recorded in fully vaccinated individuals. 33 of the day’s cases were recorded among unvaccinated individuals while two others had received one dose of a two-dose vaccine. On August 4, the country reported 151 new cases. Of those 151 cases, fully vaccinated individuals accounted for 94 of them while 55 had not been vaccinated. Another two had again received just one dose. This trend of more positive cases among vaccinated versus unvaccinated Icelanders holds all the way to the start of the current surge.

UPDATE: Calls Grow for Democrat Arizona State Senator to Step Down after Sexual Assault Charges with TWO Children

Democrat State Senator Tony Navarrete is facing seven felony counts involving sexual misconduct with two young boys and 49 years behind bars at the minimum.

35-year-old Tony Navarette, a “rising star” in the Arizona Democrat party, was arrested Thursday evening and charged with a felony described as “knowingly engaging in intercourse or oral sex with a minor.”

All of his Democratic colleagues have been sure to distance themselves and call for his resignation after the latest fiasco with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

One of the boys is now 16, but the sexual abuse allegedly began in 2019.

AZ Central reports on the phone call where Navarrete admits his guilt and apologizes to the boy.

In the recorded call, monitored by police, Navarrete, 35, acknowledged touching the victim’s penis and performing oral sex on the youth multiple times over several years, according to documents released by Maricopa County Superior Court.

Navarette told the youth he regretted his actions, knew they were wrong and repeatedly told the youth that the young man was not at fault for any of the interactions.

“Of course, I regret any bad actions that I did, absolutely wishing everything could be different. I’m sorry, mijo,” Navarrete was quoted as saying in the phone call. It appears he was not aware that police were listening in.

In the phone call, the victim, now age 16, confronted Navarrete, asking why he touched his penis. Navarrete told him he wasn’t well, records show. He repeatedly expressed regret for his actions, which reportedly occurred at Navarrete’s home and have caused anger and anxiety issues for the youth.

“Otoniel told him he is sorry he has to go through all this pain, not deserving it,” according to the narrative of the phone call.

The documents note another alleged incident where Navarette reached under the shorts and touched the upper thigh of another teenager, who swatted his hand away.

Police are recommending seven felony charges against Navarette involving four offenses:

Three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of molestation of a child, punishable as Class 2 felonies because the alleged victim was under age 15.

Two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, punishable as Class 6 felonies because the alleged victim was age 15 or older.

One count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor, punishable as a Class 3 felony.

The article fails to mention many details about the Senator which are important for voters to know

Previously, Navarette sponsored a bill that would require all schools in Arizona to teach sexual education instruction starting in Kindergarten. This bill would begin sexual education instruction with students as young as four years old.

Enemies of the People: Mitch McConnell and 17 RINO Senators Join Democrats in Passing Infrastructure Bill in Victory for Joe Biden

18 RINO Senators voted on Saturday in favor of the Democrat Party’s infrastructure bill, something Democrats never allowed to reach President Trump’s desk.

The RINOs gave Joe Biden a rare win at a time when the illegitimate president is sinking in the polls and continues to struggle with his diminishing faculties.

Mitch McConnell led the charge of the RINOs.

The Uniparty strikes again.

FOX Business reported:

The Senate on Saturday convincingly advanced the bipartisan $1 trillion infrastructure bill in a key test vote to break the filibuster, putting the upper chamber one step closer to passing one of President Biden’s marquee spending priorities.

The vote was 67-27 during a rare weekend session when the House had already recessed until September for summer break. The legislation needed 60 votes to move forward and 18 Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., joined with Democrats to clear the bill past one more procedural hurdle.

It was not immediately clear when the Senate would take a vote on final passage since there’s disagreement among Republicans and Democrats on how long the amendment process should last. But Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y, said the Senate will remain in session as long as it takes to pass the bill.

“We can get this done the easy way or the hard way,” Schumer said Saturday. “In either case, the Senate will stay in session until we finish our work.”

President Biden and the authors of the legislation say the bill is long overdue to repair the nation’s crumbling infrastructure and prove that Congress can still work together in a bipartisan way for the good of the country.

The 18 GOP members who voted for this monstrosity Saturday:

** Mitch McConnell

** Roy Blunt of Missouri,

**Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia,

**Bill Cassidy of Louisiana,

**Susan Collins of Maine,

**John Cornyn of Texas,

**Kevin Cramer of North Dakota,

**Mike Crapo of Idaho,

**Chuck Grassley of Iowa,

**John Hoeven of North Dakota,

**Deb Fischer of Nebraska,

**Lisa Murkowski of Alaska,

**Rob Portman of Ohio,

**Jim Risch of Idaho,

**Mitt Romney of Utah,

**Thom Tillis of North Carolina,

**Todd Young of Indiana

**Mike Rounds of South Dakota.

‘Like doping or bribery’: Judges must’ve picked Israeli gymnast as winner BEFORE final, legendary Russian coach tells RT

Israel's gymnast taking gold at the Tokyo Olympics despite dropping her ribbon during her routine was a "blatant mistake" of the judges, who may have schemed "to replace Russian athletes on the top," Irina Viner-Usmanova told RT.

The strong accusations from the legendary Russian rhythmic gymnastics coach, whose star pupils have claimed a long list of Olympic titles over the years, come in the wake of Saturday's scandal at the Tokyo Olympics. Israeli gymnast Linoy Ashram took gold, despite having dropped the ribbon during her routine – an obvious mistake that still saw Russia's Dina Averina placed overall second, regardless of her seemingly perfect performance.

"It's a blatant [judging] mistake and a flagrant injustice… which had been planned in advance. A mistake that has nothing to do with clean sport. It's the same thing as doping or bribing the judges," Viner-Usmanova, the head coach of the Russian national team, told RT on Saturday.

US B-52 Bombers Strike Taliban Targets in Northern Afghanistan

US B-52 Stratofortress bombers launched airstrikes on the Taliban* forces (terrorist organization, banned in Russia) in the capital of the Jawzjan province, Sheberghan, in northern Afghanistan, inflicting significant damage to the militants, Afghan defense ministry spokesman Fawad Aman said on Saturday.

"Taliban’s gathering was targeted by B-52 in #Shebergan city, Jawzjan province today evening at 6:30pm [14:00 GMT]. The #terrorists have suffered heavy casualties as a result of US Air Forces #airstrike," Aman tweeted.

Earlier in the day, The Times reported that the US had dispatched B-52 bombers and Spectre gunships to Afghanistan to suppress the territorial advances of the Taliban in the provinces of Kandahar, Herat, Lashkargah, and Helmand.

On Saturday, the Taliban announced that they seized the southwestern province of Nimruz and the northern province of Jawzjan. The capital of Nimruz, Zaranj, became the first provincial center the terrorist movement captured since 2016.

Afghanistan is seeing a spike in violence now as the Taliban have stepped up their offensive after international troops started a gradual withdrawal from the country, scheduled to be completed by September 11. The pullout was stipulated in the agreement the Taliban and the United States signed in Doha in February 2020.

yet the Taliban keep gaining ground - I suspect like in Syria they are actually aiding the enemy by acting as their airforce while claiming the opposite

White House Refuses to Endorse Vaccine Mandate for Migrants Released into U.S.

President Joe Biden continues promoting coronavirus vaccine mandates for American citizens, but the White House still struggles to explain why that standard is not applied to migrants crossing the Southern border.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki ignored a question Thursday asking if the administration wants to apply the same vaccine standards proposed for foreign visitors to migrants released into the United States.

Psaki said that “interagency working groups” are developing a plan for international travel but did not address migrants coming across the Southern border.

“Given where we are today with the Delta variant, we will plan to maintain existing travel restrictions at this point,” she said.

Since Breitbart News first brought up the issue of coronavirus-infected individuals crossing the border, the Biden White House has struggled to address the topic of coronavirus-infected migrants spreading the virus in the United States.

In McAllen, Texas, 7,000 migrants who were positive for the virus have been released into the city since February, including 1,500 people in the last seven days. McAllen declared a state of disaster in response to the crisis, opening up funding allowing them to tackle the crisis.

“Lately we’ve been getting about 1,800 immigrants a day,” McAllen’s Republican Mayor Javier Villalobos said in a Facebook video. “Then, coupled with the fact that 15 percent of the immigrants have COVID, have caused substantial problems to our great city of McAllen.”

The city has set up emergency temporary shelters for migrants who have tested positive, but there is still no vaccine mandate from the administration.

Psaki defended the Biden administration’s handling of the situation, insisting that migrants are required to wear masks when in custody. She also said migrants showing signs of the coronavirus are referred to local healthcare facilities for testing, isolation, and treatment.

On Friday, the press secretary said the Department of Homeland Security is “taking steps” to help stop the spread of the coronavirus — but again only spoke about the mask requirement for migrants picked up by border patrol and government officials referring migrants with the virus to local health care.

“That is part of what as a government, steps we are certainly taking,” she said.

The White House did not respond to a follow-up question from Breitbart News about a possible vaccine mandate for migrants.

The Department of Homeland Security appears tacitly interested in addressing the crisis, as the Washington Post reported Department plans to offer vaccines to migrants in custody and even migrants facing deportation.

But there was no mention in the report of a vaccine requirement similar to the mandate for international travelers to the United States.

At a press conference this week, Biden signaled his willingness to allow border officials to send some border-crossers back to Mexico using Title 42 authorities. But he repeated that unaccompanied minors will continue being permitted into the country.

“[U]naccompanied children is a different story, because that’s the most humane thing to do is to test them and to treat them and not send them back alone,” he said.
