If you don't vote him out, then he will have won in fact. If they don't have to cheat, then it is valid.

 

However, if they have to cheat, facts will eventually bear that out. The trail of cheating can be uncovered.

If you are registered to vote and you don't vote, then your "vote" can be used by someone else. That's why there is a pause in counting the votes. They have to determine who didn't vote so they can use that person's registration to "vote" for the (usually) dem candidate.

 

This is why the Board of Elections don't want people canvassing voters after elections to see if those people actually did vote - because it will prove fraud if the voter claimed he didn't vote but the records show that a vote was recorded for him.
