2/ And he is not going to propose more lockdowns or widespread boosters. They do want to vaccinate teens but they are getting pushback. From an Icelandic reader (as you can see, the articles back him).

What is so stunning about this is that a couple of weeks ago, as cases began to rise, Iceland looked to be going the opposite way and imposing a new wave of restrictions in the hope of bolstering vaccine effectiveness. Clearly they've recognized that strategy is impossible.

'There IS a problem with children and COVID': Fauci says

'considerable number' of infected young people are seriously ill - and

school kids SHOULD wear masks

 

* Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday that the only way to protect children from coronavirus when returning to school is to make sure they're wearing masks

* 'We've got to protect the children,' he said of all school staff masking up

* The nation's top immunologist also said he 'hopes' the COVID-19 vaccines will get full Food and Drug Administration approval by the end of August

* 'If that's the case, you're going to see the empowerment of local enterprises giving mandates,' he told NBC's Chuck Todd

* The comments come after Friday figures show 50% of the U.S. population, including children, have been inoculated against COVID-19

* All three COVID-19 vaccines administered in the U.S. are still under emergency use authorization and have not received full approval from the FDA

* Children under 12 are not cleared to get the vaccine under the authorization

 

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday 'there's no doubt in my mind' that children should be required to wear masks when returning to school in the fall.
