Woman arrested, faces OVI charges after crashing through Cleveland Hopkins International Airport fence

 

A woman was arrested Saturday evening after she crashed her vehicle through a fence and onto the airfield at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, authorities said.

 

he crash happened about 7 p.m., according to a statement posted on the City of Cleveland’s official Twitter account. The Cleveland police unit assigned to the airport responded to the crash scene and took the driver into custody.

 

The woman – whose name has not been released – faces OVI charges, the city said. The fencing at the airport was repaired shortly after the crash.

 

Investigation into the crash, including a possible probe by the federal government, is ongoing, the city wrote on Twitter. Cleveland police did not provide any additional details about the crash Sunday.

Kentucky resident charged for filing fake loan application for $94k in coronavirus relief

 

A Kentucky resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury after filing a false loan application to receive coronavirus relief money.

 

Khaldon Esawai, of Boone County, was indicted Thursday on a charge of wire fraud, which is punishable up to 20 years in prison.

 

The indictment said that Esawai applied for $94,900 in coronavirus relief through a federal program that was meant to support small businesses who were negatively impacted by COVID-19.
