House Democratic Agenda Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and other House Democrats talked to reporters about their efforts to persuade Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) to forgo the rest of the 2016 congressional summer recess so legislators can complete work on emergency funding to combat the Zika virus. Democrats also repeated earlier calls for Speaker Ryan to allow a vote on gun control legislation.
