The United States military, under the direction of Biden regime Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, is moving to require all service members to be injected with the COVID vaccine by September 15, according to a report from the Associated Press. Refusal to be injected could be treated as failure to obey an order, and unvaccinated soldiers may be subject to punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

“I will seek the president’s approval to make the vaccines mandatory no later than mid-September, or immediately upon” approval by the Food and Drug Administration, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin declares in a memo to troops obtained by the Associated Press. “I will not hesitate to act sooner or recommend a different course to the President if l feel the need to do so.”

The requirement could be moved up to an even earlier date if ‘infections continue to rise,” and restrictions such as “wearing masks, social distancing and travel limits” will apply to unvaccinated service members in the interim. The Associated Press reports that “Military officials have said that once the vaccine is mandated, a refusal could constitute failure to obey an order, and may be punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”

Service members who have not yet taken the vaccine have been subjected to forced testing and quarantine, as well as compulsory mask wearing.

Jeffrey Epstein compensation fund pays out nearly $125M to victims

The compensation fund set up for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims paid out nearly $125 million before it was closed down Monday — the eve of the two-year anniversary of the pedophile’s death.

The case’s Victims’ Compensation Program began distributing money a little more than a year ago and paid about 150 women, according to fund administrator Jordana Feldman.

Epstein was awaiting trial on sex-trafficking and other charges when authorities say the sick multimillionaire financier hanged himself in a Lower Manhattan jail cell Aug. 10, 2019.

The compensation program for Epstein’s sex-abuse victims received around 225 claims, 92 percent of which it determined to be credible, administrators said. Those eligible to receive funds were then offered various compensation amounts.

Epstein’s estate — which at its peak was valued around $634 million — funded the program but had no say in determining which cases were credible and the amount of the offers.

Feldman emphasized it was a confidential and impartial process that allowed the women to resolve their claims outside of the public scrutiny of a court case and which also saved them the cost of litigation.

“Every claimant had an opportunity to be heard in a safe space, to share the intimate, personal, often harrowing accounts of what they endured and how it has affected them,” Feldman said in a statement.

“I am proud of what we were able to accomplish with this Program, but also recognize that no amount of money will erase the years of pain these victims have endured because of Jeffrey Epstein,” Feldman said. “My hope is that the Program provided his victims a meaningful measure of justice and a step on the path toward healing.”

Some of Epstein’s victims are still choosing to fight their cases in court.

If the victims opted into the fund, they had to sign a release not to bring more legal action against the estate.

New Ashli Babbitt Docs Show Fingerprints Sent to D.C. Govt Official, Email Returned with Chinese Characters.

Documentation just obtained by Judicial Watch confirm that a request to cremate Ashli Babbitt’s body was submitted by the Chief Medical Examiner only two days after having obtained custody of the body, and further reveal that Babbitt’s fingerprints, emailed to an alleged government worker on January 6, caused the return of Microsoft “undeliverable” messages in Chinese characters.

The 1160 pages of documentation contain numerous revelations about the actions of government officials following the homicide shooting of unarmed Air Force veteran Babbitt by an unidentified law enforcement officer at the Capitol on January 6. The documents come from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Washington, D.C., and prove that OCME submitted a request to obtain permission to cremate Ashli Babbitt just two days after having custody of the body, an application labeled “completed successfully” on January 8. Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Francisco Diaz, based on the “high profile nature” of Babbitt’s case, further requested the creation of a limited access, secure electronic file for the records concerning Babbitt.

As early as January 6 itself, an OCME official was emailing Babbitt’s fingerprints, which were forwarded to someone with the result that “undeliverable” messages apparently in Chinese characters were returned.

The unarmed Babbitt had been attempting to climb into the Capitol through a “broken interior window. . .outside the Speaker’s Lobby off the House Floor” at the time of the shooting. According to videos from the same time, several law enforcement officers are reportedly able to be seen standing amidst the same crowd of protestors in which Babbitt was.

Judicial Watch obtained the documentation through its lawsuit concerning two April 8, 2021 FOIA requests submitted to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Metropolitan Police Department “for records related to Babbitt’s death.” Among the revelations of the documents are:

“On January 8, 2021, at 7:13 p.m., an application to cremate the body of Babbitt is labeled ‘completed successfully.’ Copies of the permit are sent to OCME officials. . .On January 13, 2021, Dr. Francisco Diaz emailed Chief Medical Examiner/Deputy Mayor Roger Mitchell with the note, ’21-00106 [Babbitt’s case number]: COD-Gunshot wound to left anterior shoulder. MOD-Homicide.’ Note: COD is ‘Cause of Death’ and MOD means ‘Manner of Death.'”

Therefore, Babbitt’s death was determined to be a homicide as early as January 13, but the OCME did not actually release the cause of death or manner of death for Babbitt until April 7, 2021.

Indonesia’s Most Volatile Volcano Erupts in Java, Blanketing Towns in Ash

Indonesia’s Mount Merapi erupted on Monday, pouring ash and lava into the sky on Java, a densely populated island that is home to more than a dozen active volcanoes.

There was no immediate report of evacuations and nobody was killed, though hot ash from the eruption covered several villages and nearby towns.

Mount Merapi, the most volatile of more than 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia, has seen an increase in activity in recent weeks.

Sunday morning, the lava dome partially collapsed when a series of eruptions began, with the initial blast sending hot ash 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) into the atmosphere, said Hanik Humaida, the head of Yogyakarta’s Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Center.

The mountain spewed at least three new pyroclastic flows—avalanches of rock, ash, and volcanic gas—on Monday, she added, adding that it’s common for eruptions to last several days.

Indonesia has more active volcanoes than any country and straddles the so-called “Ring of Fire,” a highly seismically active zone, where different plates on the earth’s crust meet and create a large number of earthquakes and volcanoes.

Democrat Budget Includes $107 Billion Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

The framework for a $3.5 trillion Democrat budget resolution includes plans to provide amnesty to millions of illegal aliens living in the United States via the filibuster-proof reconciliation process.

On Monday, Senate Democrats unveiled the budget framework, which includes a series of instructions for various Senate committees to craft specific plans. As such, the framework instructs the Senate Judiciary Committee to spend $107 billion in American taxpayer money on amnesty for illegal aliens.

The language of the framework is vague, asking the Judiciary Committee members to give “lawful permanent status for qualified immigrants.” Those who would qualify for such an amnesty remain unclear.

The cost of the amnesty to taxpayers is just slightly lower than Senate Budget Committee chairman Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) amnesty plan, which was projected to cost $150 billion.

Any amnesty plan crafted by Democrats is expected to give green cards, which lead to naturalized American citizenship, millions of illegal aliens eligible for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), those with Temporary Protected Status (TPS), those working on U.S. farms, and those considered “essential” workers.

Democrats’ amnesty via the reconciliation plan hit a serious roadblock last month when Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) announced she will oppose their $3.5 trillion budget. With Sinema’s opposition, Senate Democrats do not have the 50 votes necessary to pass the budget via reconciliation with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking a tie with Republican opposition.

Most recently, Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) told donors amnesty would only be possible if Senate Democrats shove it through the reconciliation process.

“If we don’t have reconciliation, I’m not sure that there’s a pathway forward,” Menendez said.

In July, a group of House Republicans urged President Biden to oppose any such amnesty proposal Senate Democrats set forth. Biden previously endorsed plans to give amnesty to illegal aliens.

The amnesty plan, the House Republicans wrote, is “a partisan power grab” designed “to expand [Democrats’] ranks of voters by millions.”

“Rejecting calls to inject amnesty into reconciliation would be a meaningful sign that you are finally willing to find common ground with your political opponents,” they wrote. “We implore you to put substance behind your calls for unity and to start by rejecting calls to inject amnesty into reconciliation.”

A handful of House Democrats, though, have said they will not support a budget without the inclusion of amnesty for illegal aliens.

The amnesty has major backing from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us, former President George W. Bush, and the Koch brothers.

Likewise, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce had most recently held a conference dedicated to promoting the amnesty plan, claiming that legalizing millions of foreign competitors against American workers is “vital” to the U.S. economic recovery following the Chinese coronavirus crisis.

Nationally, nearly 16 million Americans remain jobless, but all want full-time employment. Another 4.6 million Americans are underemployed but want a full-time job.

Already, current immigration levels put downward pressure on U.S. wages while redistributing about $500 billion in wealth away from America’s working and middle class, toward employers and new arrivals, research by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine has found.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has repeatedly found that amnesty for illegal aliens would be a net fiscal drain for American taxpayers while driving down U.S. wages.

Every year, 1.2 million legal immigrants receive green cards to permanently resettle in the U.S. In addition, 1.4 million foreign nationals are given visas to take American jobs while hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens enter the U.S. annually.

Beijing Conducting Probe Into Blackstone’s $3 Billion Bid on Chinese Real Estate Developer

American investment management company Blackstone is under antitrust investigation over its deal with SOHO China, one of China’s largest real estate developers. The investigation may take six months to be carried out.

If the deal is approved, Blackstone will pay over $3 billion to its Chinese partner, making it the New York-headquartered company’s biggest bet on China’s commercial real estate market.

The deal was first announced in June, which helped boost SOHO China’s stock price dramatically from 2.45 Hong Kong Dollars ($0.31) on June 3 to 4.6 HK Dollars ($0.59) on June 17, an increase of nearly 88 percent.

But since July 22, amid rumors that the Beijing authorities might investigate the deal, SOHO China’s stock price dropped from 4.12 HK Dollars ($0.53) to 3.22 HK Dollars ($0.41) on Friday, the last trading day, meaning around 22 percent of its market capitalization evaporated.

“In the current situation in which the deal has high uncertainty, any news can easily lead to panic in the market,” Dennis Huang Lichong, CEO of Wilson Capital International, told state-run 21st Century Business Herald on Saturday.

Wei Shilin, deputy director of the Professional Committee of Competition Law at Beijing Intellectual Property Law Association, told Chinese media The Economic Observer on Saturday that he believed that the deal can pass the antitrust investigation, but might need another investigation focussing on national security concerns.

“Some of SOHO China’s properties are located at sensitive places,” Wei said. “The national security department may review the deal [for potential risks].”

SOHO China owns and operates 20 real estate projects in China. All are located in busy neighborhoods in Beijing and Shanghai.

“God has raised up a prophet in Greta Thunberg in a way that no one could predict,” former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams has claimed. “She has said things no one else could have said. Thank God for her!”

Rowan Williams (the Welsh Wizard, as the bearded cleric is nicknamed, because of his resemblance to a druid) had a reputation during his lacklustre incarnation as Britain’s most senior cleric as an intellectual and a theologian. But what he says here is both incredibly stupid and theologically illiterate. There is nothing brave or special, let alone prophet-like about the Doom Goblin Thunberg. And if she is anyone’s servant on earth, it is far more plausible that she is Lucifer’s than God’s.

Williams made his fatuous remarks at the ecumenical Korsvei festival in Sljord, Norway. Perhaps he assumed that everyone in Scandinavia sees Thunberg as a local saint and was merely trying to ingratiate himself with his audience. Or perhaps, like pretty much every other senior cleric in the Church of England hierarchy, he is less interested in God than in Gaia-worship.

Whatever his motivation, his argument was quite breathtakingly ignorant.

According to a report in the Norwegian newspaper Vårt Land, picked up by Remix News, Williams thought it apt to liken the Doom Goblin to the prophet Jeremiah.

Williams, after expressing his deep admiration for Thunberg, went on to describe the 18-year-old climate activist as “a very good example of a prophetic voice”, asserting that – like the prophet Jeremiah – she had arrived as a force to speak to the nations.

Another speaker at the conference, Simon Korsmoe, claimed that the former archbishop’s comparison was accurate because:

Jeremiah was not accepted because he spoke clearly from the Lord against the powers that be. Earthly power and spiritual purity are often in conflict.

If this is the case then Greta Thunberg is about as unlike the prophet Jeremiah as it is possible to be. Never once in her semi-educated life of celebrity and school truancy has the Doom Goblin ever set herself against the “powers that be”. On the contrary, Thunberg is a creature of the Establishment, feted everywhere from the Vatican to 10 Downing Street, the United Nations to Davos, by the globalist elite.

Texas State Troopers Ramp Up Arrests of Illegal Alien Trespassers

BRACKETTVILLE, Texas—Texas State Troopers have started delivering van-loads of illegal aliens to the Kinney County Sheriff’s Office to be charged with criminal trespass.

The parking lot, and an old steel picnic table under a tree outside the sheriff’s office, have become a proxy booking center as the building is more suited for the crimes of a quiet, rural county of 3,600 residents.

But last week the area was bustling as troopers brought in and processed 17 illegal aliens on Aug. 3, another 17 on Aug. 6, and 13 more overnight on Aug. 8. All were males and all were magistrated by the Kinney County justice of the peace for criminal trespass after being arrested on local ranches.

On June 1, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration and on June 10 he directed state troopers to start arresting illegal aliens on charges including trespass, criminal mischief and evading on foot. But the jails were full and it took almost two months to make space and for the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to work out the process.

It’s somewhat complicated for Kinney County as it only has 14 jail spaces that are perpetually full. So the aliens get booked and appear before a judge in Kinney County, then taken to a tent facility in neighboring Val Verde County. From Val Verde, troopers transport them 100 miles away to the Briscoe Unit in Dilley, Texas, which has been repurposed to detain almost 1,000 illegal aliens who are waiting for their court cases and serving out their sentences.

Cathedral Burning, Priest Killing Migrant Met with Pope Francis in 2016: Report

Emmanuel Abayisenga, the Rwandan migrant who confessed to setting fire to the Nantes Cathedral and to the murder of a 60-year-old priest, has been revealed to have met with Pope Francis in 2016.

An investigation from the French Catholic newspaper La Croix identified the Nantes Cathedral arsonist as having met with the pope during a trip to the Vatican in 2016.

A photo of the meeting between Abayisenga and the pontiff was shared on social media by French reporter Arnaud Bédat on Monday, following the reported murder confession.

Pope Francis has taken a pro-migration position during his tenure as the Bishop of Rome, launching a two-year campaign to lecture people on the hardships faced by migrants in order to advance a “shift in thinking” on the issue worldwide.

Last week the pope said in an address in Saint Peter’s Square: “Let us open our heart to refugees; let us make their sorrows and their joys our own; let us learn courageous resilience from them!”

Health Canada issues advisory for disposable masks with graphene

Health Canada is advising Canadians not to use disposable face masks that contain graphene.

Health Canada issued the notice on Friday and said wearers could inhale graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms.

Masks containing the toxic particles may have been distributed in some health-care facilities.

The recall comes after the Quebec government warned against wearing those masks last week. They had previously been distributed in schools and daycares in that province.

CBC News has asked the New Brunswick government if the masks have been used in schools and is waiting to hear back.

Preliminary research with animals shows graphene has potential to cause lung toxicity, according to Health Canada. The potential risk with masks is unknown. The department has requested data from mask manufacturers and is investigating.

Manufacturers, distributors and sellers have been directed to stop selling the recalled masks.

People who have masks containing graphene should not wear them. Those who have used one should consult with a health care professional if issues develop, such as shortness of breath.

Previous reports suggested that the Microsoft founder had flown on Epstein's plane at least once, and visited his infamous mansion several times. Gates slammed the disgraced billionaire, stressing "it was a mistake to spend time with him". But it appears there are less obvious links between them.

Jeffrey Epstein helped a young neuroscientist, who later became a top adviser to Bill Gates, Rolling Stone has reported. According to the magazine, neurosurgeon Melanie S. Walker, who became a rising star in the Gates foundation and later a senior adviser at the World Bank, was actually Epstein's protégé.

The young woman from a working-class Texas family, with no connections in the establishment, met Epstein in New York in 1992, when he reportedly approached her in the main dining room of the Plaza Hotel.

While Walker herself told The Times that Epstein offered her a modelling opportunity, Rolling Stone suggested, citing a source, that the late financier actually talked her out of pursuing a modelling career and urged her to finish her education instead. From 1992 to 2000, when the woman was studying in medical school in Texas, records show that she listed an address in a New York apartment building owned by Epstein as her residence.

According to the report, she was using the building for occasional meetings but didn't actually live there.

Another source, friendly with the disgraced billionaire, told the outlet that Walker felt a "deep gratitude" toward Epstein, who reportedly hired her as his "Science Adviser" in 1998. At the same time, she allegedly provided him with an opportunity to meet interesting faculty members at Cal Tech and elsewhere, as he was searching for projects to fund.

Walker later began dating and eventually married Steven Sinofsky, an executive at Microsoft, which allowed her to meet Gates and join his philanthropic foundation.

The magazine additionally suggested that other people close to the Microsoft founder - physician Boris Nikolic and scientist Nathan Myhrvold - had also met Epstein and backed the link between the two billionaires. In fact, Epstein even appointed Nikolic as a substitute executor of his will, just two days before his death, which was a surprise for him.

Nikolic said he had had no meaningful contact with Epstein for years, alleging that the move was a bid to damage Gates' reputation.

Epstein, who had been previously convicted of sex abuse, faced a new round of accusations in 2019. He was charged with setting up a criminal network for the sexual exploitation of girls, including minors. A month later, the paedophile financier was found dead at a federal Manhattan prison under suspicious circumstances, as he was awaiting a sex trafficking trial.

CDC Director Admits Claim That Over 99% of In-Hospital Covid Deaths Were Among Unvaccinated People Was Junk

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky admitted during a press briefing last week that her claim that over 99% of covid patients dying in hospitals were unvaccinated was a load of crap.

The claim, which was also echoed by Anthony Fauci, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and other top officials, was shown to be a lie by the CDC's own data released by the Washington Post on July 29. The CDC's data showed the number of covid patient in-hospital deaths in May were 15% among the vaccinated, not 0.5% as they all claimed – which is 30x higher than they stated.

The CDC and White House officials didn't tell the public that because they were in overdrive trying to scare everyone into taking Big Pharma's experimental mRNA "vaccines" despite their rapidly waning protection.

After being questioned Thursday on the 99% number by a CNN reporter, Walensky said that "those data were data that were from analyses in several states from January through June and didn't reflect the data that we have now from the Delta variant."

In other words, to get the 99% number they not only cherry-picked data from what ever states they wanted but they included data from January when covid deaths were at their peak and less than 10 percent of Americans had even taken the vaccine. Additionally, they excluded the most recent data showing the vaccines' protection was waning!

Senate Confirms Del Toro as Secretary of the Navy

The U.S. Senate on Saturday confirmed Carlos Del Toro as the next secretary of the Navy, ending months without a confirmed nominee in the service's top leadership post.

Del Toro, who will replace Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Harker, was confirmed by voice vote. Harker has been leading the Navy for just over 200 days since Jan. 20, the first day of the Biden administration.

The Trump administration had an acting secretary for 195 days after its 2017 inauguration. President Barack Obama waited 67 days; President George W. Bush, 124 days.

Del Toro is a former Navy officer and ship commander who was a CEO of an engineering and consulting firm until his confirmation.

During his confirmation hearing, Del Toro emphasized the significance China will play in future Navy strategy, as well as budgetary and shipbuilding challenges.

"If confirmed, I'm going to be exclusively focused on the China threat and exclusively focused on moving our maritime strategy forward in order to protect Taiwan and all of our national security interests in the Indo-Pacific theater," Del Toro told Congress on July 13.

"We can no longer take U.S. naval superiority for granted," he warned in his opening remarks.

He added that the "Navy/Marine Corps team will need additional resources to be able to fully meet the combat effectiveness we will need."

The remarks came amid some congressional criticism that the proposed Navy's 2022 budget proposal funds research and development of projects such as a hypersonic missile over shipbuilding efforts.

Del Toro's confirmation also comes at a tumultuous time for the Navy's leadership. Former President Donald Trump's first secretary of the Navy, Richard V. Spencer, was fired in November 2019 over his handling of the case of former Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher.

Gallagher was accused by service members of war crimes during a tumultuous deployment to Iraq in 2017. He ultimately was acquitted at court-martial on most charges but found guilty of posing for a photo with a prisoner's corpse. Gallagher was demoted, but Trump restored his rank and he was allowed to retire honorably.

Spencer described Trump's involvement in the case as "a shocking and unprecedented intervention" in a Washington Post editorial he wrote after his ouster.

UN issues dire warning on climate change in new report

The newest climate report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says that climate change is "unequivocally" caused by humans and warns that global temperatures are expected to reach a significant warming milestone in the next 20 years.

The planet is expected to reach average temperatures that are 1.5 degrees warmer than a pre-industrial baseline by 2040, according to the report, which was released on Monday.

A prior special report from the IPCC found that keeping warming below this level would prevent climate-related impacts on extreme weather, biodiversity and food security.

“A 1.5 degree Celsius world is a fundamentally different world with larger extremes and larger climate damages than a 1 degree C world that we’re more or less in right now, which is fundamentally different than the world before this all started,” said Kim Cobb, the lead author of the report's first chapter, in an interview with The Hill.

“We’re already reeling, clearly, from so many of these impacts that the report highlights, especially in the category of extremes that are gripping these headlines and causing so much damage, but of course the 1.5 degree C world is notably and discernibly worse,” Cobb said.

The report also warns that climate change will increasingly be seen in heat waves, more frequent and intense precipitation and droughts.

The report from the IPCC, which was created by the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations, stated that increases in greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere since about 1750 were “unequivocally caused by human activities.”

"The fact that the IPCC has agreed — with the agreement of all member countries, 195 member countries — that it is unequivocal that human activity is causing climate change, is the strongest statement the IPCC has ever made," Ko Barrett, IPCC vice chair, told reporters on Sunday.

It said that it’s likely that humans had already caused about 1.07 degrees Celsius of extra warming compared to pre-industrial temperatures between 1850 and 1900.

In addition to the 1.5 degrees of warming, the new report also found that without serious greenhouse gas emissions reductions, global temperatures will rise by a full 2 degrees Celsius compared to preindustrial levels.

Founder of Time's Up legal foundation resigns following alleged effort to discredit Cuomo victim

Roberta Kaplan's ties to Cuomo administration efforts to silence and retaliate against accusers came to light in the N.Y. AG report.

Roberta Kaplan, the chairwoman of the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund, has resigned from the organization she helped found amid disclosure of her ties to efforts to squelch accusations of sexual misconduct against embattled New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Kaplan resigned from her post at the organization Monday, writing that her work as an attorney conflicts with her responsibilities as chairwoman of the group that was founded in the wake of the emergence of the #MeToo movement.

Kaplan is currently being accused of working to discredit the efforts of at least one of Cuomo's accusers — her name makes an appearance in Attorney General Letitia James' 168-page report, released last week.

"As a result, I cannot offer the degree of transparency about my firm's matters now being demanded, since that would be contrary to my responsibilities as a lawyer," wrote Kaplan. "I therefore have reluctantly come to the conclusion that an active law practice is no longer compatible with serving on the Board at Time's Up at this time and I hereby resign."

Investigators found that Kaplan reviewed a draft of an opinion letter that attacked Lindsey Boylan, the first woman to publicly accuse Cuomo of sexual harassment. "The draft letter or op-ed attacking Ms. Boylan — particularly when combined with the release of the confidential internal records to the press — constitutes retaliation," reads the report.

Kaplan appeared to pivot her position on Governor Cuomo in her resignation letter, writing, "Unfortunately, recent events have made it clear that even our apparent allies in the fight to advance women can turn out to be abusers."

Prior to her resignation, a group of sexual harassment survivors wrote an open letter arguing that the Time's Up board failed "the survivor community."

"Time's Up has abandoned the very people it was supposed to champion," reads the open letter. "The board continues to fail to heed the outcry from survivors. Time's Up is failing all survivors."

Kansas City Hospital Counters Media's False Narrative That They're Overwhelmed With Child Covid Cases

Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City pushed back against the media's hysterical narrative that their hospital had "hit capacity" due to child covid cases by pointing out that most of their child patients have respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), not covid, and they have "plenty of capacity" to see kids in outpatient settings.

"Children's Mercy hits capacity as COVID cases continue rising in KC Metro," blared a headline from the Kansas City Star on July 27.

"As you may have heard, we are currently experiencing high patient volumes in the hospital, but we continue to be able to meet the needs of our patients requiring hospitalization," Children's Mercy responded in a statement posted to Facebook on July 28. "We also want to emphasize we have plenty of capacity to see your child in all of our outpatient settings."

"While we continue to see COVID-19 cases increase in our community and in our hospital, the increase in children we are treating as in-patients is mainly due to respiratory illnesses, like RSV," Children's Mercy continued. "We encourage all families to keep their scheduled clinic appointments."

Children's Mercy, which has 367-beds, said Thursday that they had 19 hospitalized child covid patients in total.

There has been a significant surge of RSV cases among children throughout our country since July.

"So we're all clear: when you read those worrying stories about a respiratory virus filling children's hospitals, you are reading about RSV," Alex Berenson said Saturday on Twitter. "And the likely reason this is happening now is because lockdowns prevented normal exposure, so 18 months of cases are happening at once."

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital said they have treated more cases of Respiratory Syncytial Disease, or RSV, in July than the first six months of 2021 combined.

There have been a total of 303 RSV cases at the Knoxville hospital in the month of July, two more cases than reported in the first six months of 2021 combined.

RSV is a contagious virus in children and can cause respiratory infections that can lead to more serious illnesses such as pneumonia. In June, the Centers for Disease Control issued a health advisory after seeing an increase in RSV cases across the southern United States.

"Due to reduced circulation of RSV during the winter months of 2020–2021, older infants and toddlers might now be at increased risk of severe RSV-associated illness since they have likely not had typical levels of exposure to RSV during the past 15 months," a release from the CDC said.

Covid vaccines have brought billions of dollars to the coffers of pharmaceutical companies.

Germany's BioNTech, maker with partner Pfizer of the pioneering mRNA jab, raised its vaccine revenue forecast for 2021 in its latest earnings report on Monday.

Here are the numbers for the companies that publish financial results:

US firm Pfizer and BioNTech got a headstart over rivals as they were the first in the western world to announce positive results from clinical trials of their vaccine last year.

They were also first to get authorisation from US and European Union regulators to sell their shot.

Pfizer has earned more than its competitors, raking in $10.8 billion (9.2 billion euros) in the first half of this year.

The US company has raised its outlook for 2021, expecting to make $33.5 billion in sales for the full year.

BioNTech reported on Tuesday revenues of $7.3 billion euros in the first half. Unlike its larger partner, the company's only product on sale is the coronavirus vaccine.

BioNTech expects vaccine revenues to reach 15.9 billion euros for the full year, up from a previous estimate of 9.8 billion euros.

US startup Moderna is the only other firm to have produced an authorised mRNA vaccine so far.

Messenger RNA technology works by providing human cells with the genetic instructions to make a surface protein of the coronavirus, which trains the immune system to recognise the real virus.

Almost 600 New Wildfires Registered in Greece Over Several Days, Prime Minister Announces

Almost 600 wildfires have started in Greece in a few days, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Monday, adding that the unprecedented heatwave makes it hard to put them out.

Speaking in a televised address, the prime minister described the last several days among the most difficult in decades and promised that everything is being done to overcome the crisis.

"However, we are facing a natural disaster at an unprecedented scale: in several days, 586 fires started across Greece. The fires that are very hard to extinguish due to the unprecedented heatwave and months-long drought," Mitsotakis said.

The official went on to thank foreign countries for helping Greece with personnel and equipment, as well as apologize for any inconvenience in the effort to fight the fires and promise to bring those responsible to account. Greece and other countries in the southeast Mediterranean region are experiencing the worst heatwave since 1987. Temperatures are rising to 44 degrees Celsius (111.2 degrees Fahrenheit), which, in combination with the dry climate and strong winds, have fueled intense wildfires throughout the area in recent weeks.

A Teacher Died By Suicide After Being Arrested for Soliciting a Minor. His Family Says the Cops Went Rogue.

One man’s Grindr chat with a cop who identified himself as a teen—but who his family says he thought was older—ended in disaster.

On July 31, 2019, Brian Petersen, a 39-year-old school teacher in Texas, went on the gay dating app Grindr and struck up a conversation with a man whose profile name was “Fresh Meat.”

He asked how the man’s week was going and if he was “looking for something tonight,” according to a transcript of the chat obtained by The Daily Beast. “You into younger boys,” the man replied, apparently posing the question.

When Petersen asked for the man’s age, he said “under 18.” Petersen suggested there was “wriggle room”: In Texas, the age of consent is 17.

But after repeated questioning from Petersen about his age, “Fresh Meat” said he was a 14-year-old named Jason. Petersen asked what school he went to, his sexual experience, and if he could “take it.”

The conversation soon turned toward a planned meeting the next day.

Hours before the encounter, Petersen became nervous and first asked for a voice message. After receiving it, he said the voice was “not what I was expecting.”

Later that day, driving around in circles at a parking lot where the two were supposed to meet, Petersen learned he was speaking neither to a teenager nor a potential romantic partner. Instead, it was a cop: 41-year-old Conroe Police Detective Darrick Dunn, who arrested Petersen for online solicitation of a minor.

The case quickly turned tragic. Less than 48 hours after bonding out of jail, Petersen died by suicide. But the teacher left behind his own version of events, one his family is now using to point the finger at what they describe as overzealous law enforcement.

In a note penned before his death, Petersen claimed he always knew he was talking to an adult due to a dated photograph shared by Dunn, inconsistent details about what school the boy allegedly went to and, most tellingly, he claimed, the voice memo. Although Dunn admitted to sending it, the memo was never stored as evidence—something Petersen’s family and their attorney say would have exonerated Petersen.

“It was almost adorable how funny the message was as you pretended to be a 14-year-old white boy. You were, to me, a guy my age role-playing as a younger guy,” Petersen wrote about the memo, directly addressing Dunn, who is Black.

He said he’d always supported law enforcement’s efforts to catch predators in stings—until he realized they were not always targeted operations to catch men explicitly hunting and soliciting minors. Instead, he argued, they sometimes became “dragnets” that could ensnare men with no history of such desires or crimes.

That he might ultimately beat his charge in a courtroom was “irrelevant,” the junior-high teacher wrote. “This is the type of accusation that destroys a career and a life.”

Petersen’s criticism has been taken up by his family, who recently filed a federal lawsuit against the Conroe Police Department. They told The Daily Beast they want to clear his name, and bring needed scrutiny to online-solicitation arrests they say can be rushed because of society’s unanimous disdain for sex crimes against minors.

“Brian wanted us to ensure that this didn’t happen to other people,” Douglas Petersen, Brian’s father, told The Daily Beast. “He shouldn’t have been charged with a crime, he wasn’t a criminal.”

Canada Adds Bell’s Palsy Warning to Pfizer COVID Vaccine

Health Canada, the department of the Government of Canada responsible for national health policy has added Bell’s Palsy as a warning to Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine labels.

Cases of Bell’s Palsy have been reported in a number of people in Canada and internationally.

So far in Canada, “there has been a total of 206 reports of Bell’s Palsy following a Pfizer vaccination,” the health agency told Global News in an email Friday.

Symptoms after vaccination may include temporary weakness or paralysis on one side of the face, according to an advisory issued by the department.

Other symptoms include, “uncoordinated movement of the muscles that control facial expression; loss of feeling in the face; headache; tearing from the eye; drooling; lost sense of taste on the front two-thirds of the tongue; hypersensitivity to sound in one ear; or inability to close an eye on one side of the face,” according to the advisory.

Health Canada has received 2,849 reports of serious adverse events, including heart inflammation, allergic reactions, blood clots and strokes.

The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine label already comes with information about reported cases of Bell’s Palsy, and Health Canada “is continuing to assess this issue for all authorized COVID-19 vaccines” currently in use in the country, the release clarified. “The Department will take further action if necessary.”

Health Canada advises people who feel the symptoms of Bell’s Palsy to seek medical attention.

Black’s attorney, Dayna Perry, said in regard to the new claims that "Ms. Ganieva had six years to prepare her initial complaint in this case … She now claims to recall in August supposedly crucial events and connections that somehow had slipped her mind at the time of her June filing. But just like her June complaint, Ms. Ganieva’s story today is demonstrably and transparently false and betrays her willingness to say anything and fabricate a story in the hope something will stick."

EPA Suppressed Report Linking Controversial Weedkiller Ingredient to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

US EPA Buried Internal Report Linking Glyphosate to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

A newly uncovered confidential U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) report found “suggestive evidence” linking glyphosate to Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a determination that goes against the agency’s long-held public regulatory stance that glyphosate is not a carcinogen.

Why would the agency charged with protecting public health and the environment go against its own science and allow a probable carcinogen like glyphosate to remain in use? According to Intercept journalist Sharon Lerner, agrichemical industry giants like Monsanto (acquired by Bayer AG in 2018) have successfully “hoodwinked, bullied, and persuaded” the EPA to base chemical regulations on inaccurate science that favors industry at the expense of public health.

Lerner reports that industry influence over the science that EPA relies on to set the safe exposure levels to chemicals like glyphosate is one of many tools Monsanto and other agribusinesses use to “increase and maintain the use of products even when they damage health and the environment.”

Lerner’s article includes a 2016 internal EPA report that vindicates what plaintiffs’ attorneys suing Monsanto on behalf of Roundup cancer victims have been saying for years about Monsanto’s scientific manipulation and the EPA being a captured agency.

In March of 2015 the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) published a review on glyphosate, listing it as a probable human carcinogen. The IARC report led to thousands of people throughout the U.S. filing lawsuits against Monsanto alleging exposure to Roundup caused them to develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

As part of the litigation, a number of U.S. law firms were able to obtain internal company reports, emails, text messages, and other memoranda, that include communications with or about EPA officials. The documents, now known throughout the world as the Monsanto Papers, allowed the public to see firsthand how EPA staff bragged about killing an Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) review of glyphosate; that the agency has based its regulatory decisions for Roundup almost exclusively on Monsanto’s own science; and that the agency mysteriously changed glyphosate’s cancer classification in 1991 from having “suggestive evidence” of carcinogenic potential to having “no evidence” of carcinogenic potential, a designation that persists even to this day.

Attorneys for Monsanto have argued since the start of the litigation that EPA has repeatedly approved the use of glyphosate, each time concluding that it is not likely to be carcinogenic to humans. But the internal EPA report cited in Lerner’s reporting provides stark evidence that the agency has been covering up science showing the cancer-causing potential of glyphosate.

During Monday’s broadcast of “The Hugh Hewitt Show,” National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci defended the move to require masks for children in kindergarten through third grade amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Fauci told host Hugh Hewitt that although it is a “difficult situation,” there is an uptick, as a result of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, of younger children being hospitalized with a “more severe disease.” He advised that the masking of that age group could be a “temporary thing.”

“[W]e have a disagreement that I want to air with you,” Hewitt said to Fauci. “My friend, Chuck Todd, disagrees with me, too. It’s about children K-3. And as the grandfather of three of them, and I talk to a lot of parents, they don’t believe masks are a good thing. They believe they are developmentally difficult to deal with. They can hide developmental disabilities. They impair speech and hearing, and that they’re not very effective. And boy, they feel this strongly, and it’s what the UK felt. My grandkids were in school in England last year. Why do you disagree with the UK specialists and with the Wall Street Journal this morning, article by Dr. Makary and Dr. Meissner?”

“You know, Hugh, that is a difficult situation because you really do have to balance the risk of transmission versus the real risk, and I’m not putting down what you’re saying. It’s not comfortable, obviously, for children to wear masks, particularly the younger children,” Fauci replied. “But you know, what we’re starting to see, Hugh, and I think it’s going to unfold even more as the weeks go by, that this virus not only is so extraordinarily transmissible, but we’re starting to see pediatric hospitals get more and more younger people and kids not only numerically, but what seems to be more severe disease.”

“Now we’re tracking that, the CDC is tracking that really very carefully, so it’s going to be a balance that we would feel very badly if we all of a sudden said OK, kids, don’t wear masks, then you find out retrospectively that this virus in a very, very strange and unusual way is really hitting kids really hard,” he added. “That’s the thing. Nobody feels comfortable at all about having children be put in a situation where it might ultimately, the way some people study, have some impact on them. But hopefully, this will be a temporary thing, temporary enough that it doesn’t have any lasting negative impact on them.”

‘Squad’ Member Rep. Rashida Tlaib Caught Maskless on Dance Floor at Wedding Party

Democrat lawmaker and “Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI) was caught maskless on a crowded dance floor at a wedding party Sunday where she danced and hugged guests.

Singer Bassam Saleh posted a string of videos to his Instagram stories featuring a Sunday wedding at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

The videos featured pictures and videos of Tlaib, including one on the dance floor surrounded by people, holding hands with others and dancing, and hugging another guest. She and others are not wearing masks at the wedding party, which takes place indoors.

That same night of the wedding, Tlaib railed against Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), tweeting that “people are getting sick and dying” from coronavirus in Kentucky. “He needs to put politics aside, and put people first. Start resisting the virus,” she tweeted:

Democrat Austin Judge Signs Order Blocking Arrest of AWOL Texas Democrat Lawmakers

Another day, another activist judge.

State District Judge Brad Urrutia, a Democrat, signed an order Sunday night temporarily blocking the arrest of AWOL Texas Democrat lawmakers who fled the state to block the GOP’s voting bills.

In mid-July at least 58 Democrat members of the state House of Representatives fled Texas and headed to Washington DC to block Republicans from advancing new voting laws through a special session of the legislature.

Last month Governor Abbott said that he will have the lawmakers arrested and hold them inside the state Capitol “until they get their job done.”

“If these people want to be hanging out wherever they’re hanging out on this taxpayer-paid junket, they’re going to have to be prepared to do it for well over a year. As soon as they come back in the state of Texas, they will be arrested, they will be cabined inside the Texas Capitol until they get their job done,” Abbott told local station KVUE.

The Texas House of Representatives also voted to send law enforcement to arrest the Democrat lawmakers for fleeing the state and blocking the GOP from passing voting laws.

22 of the AWOL Texas Dems filed a lawsuit over the weekend against Texas Republicans claiming they are a “protected class” and suffering from “much anxiety and stress.”

The Texas Tribune reported:

A state district judge in Travis County issued an order blocking the arrest of House Democrats who have broken quorum by leaving the state, paving the way for those who remain outside of Texas to return home without threat of apprehension.

State District Judge Brad Urrutia, a Democrat, granted the temporary restraining order late Sunday night restricting Gov. Greg Abbott and House Speaker Dade Phelan from “detaining, confining or otherwise restricting” the free movement of House Democrats within the state or issuing any warrants ordering their confinement.

The order expires in 14 days unless extended by Urrutia. The court will hear arguments on a temporary injunction on Aug. 20 where Abbott and Phelan must show why a temporary injunction should not be filed against them.
