Eight arrested following protests, vandalism at Parliament House and The Lodge
Meanwhile, three protesters targeted Prime Minister Scott Morrison's official Canberra residence, spraying "duty of care" in red paint out the front.
Mr Morrison described the climate protesters as "unAustralian".
"The Australian way is not what we have seen with the vandalism in our capital today," he said.
He described protesters' actions as "foolishness" that did not align with "the good-hearted nature of Australians who care deeply about this issue".
Mr Morrison likened their actions to "other selfish protests" around this country.
The United Nations called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report a "code red for humanity" when it was released on yesterday.
The landmark study, led by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel, found at current emission rates, the global temperature is expected to increase by 1.5C over the next two decades.

Massachusetts Coronavirus Data Shows Average Age of Breakthrough Case Deaths Is 82.5 Years Old
Data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) released on Monday shows the average age of vaccinated individuals who have died from coronavirus is 82.5 years old and that 73 percent of those who died had underlying conditions.
The new data revealed 395 hospitalizations and 100 deaths have occurred from breakthrough coronavirus cases, according to a Boston Herald report. Breakthrough cases refer to individuals who have been infected with the virus after being fully vaccinated.
As of last week, DPH data showed the Bay State had seen a total of 7,737 breakthrough cases.
The Herald observed a recent uptick in both breakthrough cases and overall infections. The outlet noted breakthrough cases were accounting for about one-third of the state’s overall cases, as the seven-day average of new breakthrough cases as of last week was 195 compared with 598 new overall cases.
Massachusetts’ pandemic low occurred in June 2021 when the seven-day average of new overall cases was down to 64.
The department said in a statement that the latest breakthrough case numbers were “incredibly low” and “even lower” for those who were hospitalized or died.
“All available data continue to support that all 3 vaccines used in the US are highly protective against severe disease and death from all known variants of COVID-19,” DPH stated. “The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is to get vaccinated.”
More than 4.3 million Massachusetts residents out of the state’s population of about 6.9 million have been vaccinated. One hundred breakthrough deaths, therefore, represent 0.002 percent of all fully vaccinated individuals.
The 82.5-year-old median age of the deaths is about five years older than the U.S. average life expectancy, which is 77.3 years old as of last year.
The updated details about the breakthrough deaths come after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidance at the end of July “due to several concerning developments and newly emerging data signals.” The agency specifically cited the emergence of the Delta variant, saying it was more infectious and more easily transmittable than previous variants.
The CDC’s most recent guidance calls for fully vaccinated individuals to wear a mask in public indoor spaces in regions of “substantial or high transmission.” Though most counties in Massachusetts are designated as areas with “substantial” or “high” transmission levels, Gov. Charlie Baker (R) has so far resisted calls from leftists — such as gubernatorial challenger Ben Downing (D), the state’s largest teachers’ union, and establishment media — to institute statewide mask mandates and universal masking of children in schools.
“Remember, the federal government makes decisions and issues guidance for the country, right? Massachusetts is a very different place than the rest of the country. … We’re certainly number one in terms of both our hospitalization rate and our vaccination rate among the big states,” Baker said of his decision, per WBUR, adding that “those things factor into how we make these decisions and they should because the vaccines work.”
A Mayo Clinic vaccine tracker shows Massachusetts is the second-most vaccinated state in the country, behind only Vermont and just barely ahead of Maine.

House Republicans Threaten Action if DHS Hides Data on COVID-Positive Illegal Aliens Freed into U.S.
A group of House Republicans, led by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), say they are ready to take legislative action against President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) if the agency hides data on the number of coronavirus-positive illegal aliens released into the United States.
In a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the House Republicans call his leadership a “lackluster performance” and credit Biden’s “weak border policies” for “appalling” illegal immigration totals – nearly 200,000 border crossers were encountered by federal immigration officials in June.
“The June numbers put the United States at over 1 million encounters in just the first 7 months of this fiscal year,” they write:
With continued complicity from the Biden Administration, the United States is once again slated to see another massive increase in southern border encounters. For the month of July – reporting indicates another approximate 210,000 illegal migrant encounters – this will be the highest monthly total in the history of DHS.
The House Republicans then blast Mayorkas for what they say has been a “dangerously irresponsible” lack of transparency from DHS about the number of border crossers and illegal aliens testing positive for coronavirus being released into the U.S. interior.
By September 6, the House Republicans are requesting a slew of information on illegal immigration totals. Otherwise, they say they will take legislative action by introducing a resolution of inquiry that will require DHS to respond to their questions.
“The American people and migrants seeking to come here deserve better than the chaos of a wide-open border,” they write. “Without such a foundational mechanism as enforcement of the rule of law, you cannot begin to uphold the words of DHS’s mission.”
Specifically, the House Republicans want a breakdown on the number of border crossers who have illegally entered the U.S. since January 20 who subsequently tested positive for coronavirus and were released from DHS custody into the U.S. interior while still coronavirus-positive, and a total of how many have recieved a coronavirus vaccine after crossing the border.
The House Republicans also want to know the final destinations where border crossers ended up after their release from DHS custody, broken down by state and county, as well as the number of border crossers apprehended since January 20 who are connected to international gangs, terrorist groups, or drug cartels.
In detail, the House Republicans additionally want the cost of housing, utilities, food, education, healthcare, coronavirus testing, coronavirus vaccines, and transportation provided to border crossers at the expense of American taxpayers.

NY Assembly had ‘detailed discussions’ about Cuomo book deal
The New York state Assembly’s Judiciary Committee on Monday had “detailed discussions” with its outside lawyers about Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s $5.1 million book deal — and it could spell trouble for former top aide Melissa DeRosa, sources told The Post.
The committee has been probing whether Cuomo improperly used state resources to write his memoir, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic,” as part of its impeachment inquiry into the three-term Democrat.
“There’s no question that the lawyers have evidence about using taxpayer resources to prepare the manuscript,” a source close to the assembly probe said.
The evidence in question, according to the source, includes emails from DeRosa about “instructions she gave to the staff in the governor’s office to help with the manuscript for Cuomo’s book being pitched to publishers.”
“They clearly have evidence and interviews with staff about Melissa DeRosa instructing them to help with the manuscript,” the source said.
DeRosa, 38, resigned Sunday night amid criticism over her attempts to discredit the governor’s accusers, detailed in state Attorney General Letitia James’ scathing report on Cuomo’s alleged sexual harassment of several women.
Reports in March said that DeRosa and fellow top aide Stephanie Benton, as well as junior staffers, assisted the governor with his memoir, which was published in mid-October.

US Woman Who Killed Harry Dunn in Car Crash Was Possibly 'Distracted by Phone', Report Says
UK teenager Harry Dunn was killed in a car accident that involved a US national, Anne Sacoolas, who is the wife of a CIA agent. Sacoolas admitted that she had been driving the wrong side of the road at the time of the car crash.
The family of Harry Dunn have suggested that US citizen Anne Sacoolas might have been distracted by her phone before she hit Dunn who was killed in the crash in August 2019, Fox News reported Monday.
Family lawyers have filed several complaints with the Eastern District Court of Virginia, alleging that Sacoolas avoided police questioning about her SIM card and phone data, suggesting that she might have done so to conceal that she was using it in time of the accident.
"The data on that phone likely would reveal whether she was using the phone just before or at the time of the collision, for example, speaking to someone on a call, reading a text, checking the weather, or otherwise engaged with her phone so as to be distracted from realising that she was driving on the wrong side of the road," Fox News quoted the court document as saying.
Sacoolas' lawyer, John McGavin, claimed that his client did not take any steps to remove data from her phone.
"When she returned to the United States she changed the SIM card because the SIM card in use on August 27, 2019, was for use in the United Kingdom," court documents read, according to Fox. "The defense claims that actions taken to transfer her number to a new phone "were not intended to remove any data from the phone that she was using on August 27, 2019."
An adviser for the family, Radd Seiger, asserted that the US government "will continue to do everything within their power" to "stop" the Dunns from seeking the truth about their son's death.
"The US government’s decision-making process has been impossible to understand from the moment they learned of Harry’s death," he said, cited by Fox News. "Instead of seeking to do the right thing for the family then, they foolishly decided to put their own interests first despite warnings from all of us that it would backfire in their faces."
Death of Harry Dunn
The 19-year-old UK man, Harry Dunn, was riding his motorbike when he was killed by a car driving on the wrong side of the road, in August 2019.
The incident took place in the United Kingdom near the village of Croughton in central England. Behind the wheel was Sacoolas, an alleged spy herself, and wife of CIA agent Jonathan Sacoolas, who at the time worked at RAF Croughton, a military base operated by the US Air Force.
After the fatal incident, Anne Sacoolas swiftly fled the UK without informing the country's police and later sought diplomatic immunity, which was thrown into question due to McGavin's statements that the couple left Britain due to "security issues". At the time, he also said that Sacoolas' job was “a significant factor” in her fleeing the country.
According to a 1995 agreement between the US and the UK, US intelligence officers at RAF Croughton are ineligible to claim diplomatic immunity, but the deal does not cover spouses and children.
The United States has refused to extradite Sacoolas, citing diplomatic immunity, with the Biden administration not reversing a decision made by the Cabinet of the former president, Donald Trump. Washington has also perpetuated a "protective order" seeking to conceal the details of the employment of Sacoolas and her husband.
