Which means, fortunately, we'll have knowledge to trade for theirs.

They have set themselves up as masters of the aftermath, and anyone who helps them make it to that point, will be glad they did.

It's not just "priceless knowledge"… there are a bunch of factors involved in my opinion (and, that's all it is). Work ethic, the ability to work smoothly as a team, the lack of need for "entertainment"… my list goes on.

Find me a large group anywhere, outside of their confines, that can claim even 2 of the above traits.

A very long time ago, as a child, I lived down the road from a farm that, although wasn't Amish, was as close as you can get… right down to using only animals as power to farm. No matter how viciously the "economy" was manipulated, their lives (hardworking but comfy) changed little, if at all.

Agreed, on many points. I'm not saying they would be the best "leaders", just damn good examples… and, I can only be led by example.

I don't think they would argue with the above… I'm just saying that, of all the "fringe" groups out there, they have the most to offer outsiders… and, the least need for them. I find that admirable… even more so, as I age.
