Imagine a sliding scale. Truth on one end, Lie on another. Neutral at 50% on the line.
Truth - Information = Lie
If Truth is Gods Word, the only way to Truly gain a comfy state, is to pursue Truth. Lack of pursuit slides you back towards the Lie side.
