Imagine you started with utopia, and along came human nature.
Along the bell curve of personality traits there are always going to be a few who are charismatic psychotics. A few who rise to positions of power and control, because they are naturally better at it. In a single village situation, this population would be doomed to suffer an endless cycle of characters like this.
And that is why the laws of expansion must apply. The megalomaniacs would have us perceive the world as a pie, in which we are all fighting for a bigger slice. But in reality there is endless pie, if we just expand our horizons.
So will he answer for his REAL crimes? Sexual misconduct feels a little like getting Al Capone on tax evasion.
