MSNBC’s Melber: ‘Stupid’ DeSantis Needs to ‘Grow Up’ — Little Children Are Fighting to Breathe in Florida

MSNBC host Ari Melber said Wednesday on his show “The Beat” that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was being “stupid” in his dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Melber said, “This current COVID resurgence is hitting one state hard, Florida. That’s where the governor is finding his long attack for safety measures is blowing up in his face. But more importantly, in the face of his constituents, cases and hospitalizations breaking all-time records. experts say the state’s ICUs look like a quote, ‘war zone.’ This is a time when states need objective, sober leadership, but DeSantis is doubling down on his partisan approach blaming everything from the media to immigration policy for what is happening in his state instead of addressing what he and the state government can do now to curb the spread.”

In a video, DeSantis said, “Let me tell you this, if you’re coming after the rights of parents in Florida, I’m standing in your way.”

Melber said, “Stupid, and the politics don’t stop. The facts show DeSantis is literally exploiting this ongoing, deadly epidemic in his state to politic and to fundraise. His political operation combining attacks on Dr. Fauci with its political fundraising operation. They’re hocking t-shirts as well as beer koozies that proclaim, ‘Don’t Fauci My Florida.’ For a governor in the middle of a deadly virus, the first point here would be, grow up.”

He continued, “The second would be, if you take DeSantis’ shirt and beer koozies at their word, well let’s think about it. The grim fact is many people in Florida wish these policies were Faucied. Sorry to discuss this at such a stupid level, but the governor made the shirt. A lot of people are saying —if you want to keep it at this second-grade reading level — please, Fauci my Florida. Because the facts show, there would be fewer people fighting to breathe in hospitals in Florida and fewer people dead in Florida if the mainstream proven policies including a more robust vaccination program there was working and being applied.”

Melber added, “While I’m willing to speak at a stupid and second-grade level if that’s the chosen way to talk, I want to be very clear about how serious this is. I mentioned people fighting to breathe. In Florida, the people fighting to breathe include a lot of small, little children because Florida now leads the country in these pediatric hospitalizations of children.”

Dan Crenshaw Tells Republicans ‘Don’t Kid Yourself’ Into Believing Trump Won, ‘Absolutely Not’ A Stolen Election

"Five different states? Hundreds of thousands of votes? You're kidding yourself."

Establishment Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) said tonight at a GOP fundraiser in Illinois that Republicans shouldn’t “kid” themselves into believing that President Trump won the 2020 election, and there was “absolutely not” enough voter fraud for Biden to have won illegitimately.

At the fundraiser in Cook County, described as the “home of election fraud,” Crenshaw took a Q&A question from Col. Larry Kaifesh, who asked him if he believed in election integrity efforts, and whether he believed that the November election was “rigged.” Unsurprisingly, Crenshaw, who was blasted as a coward by primary opponent Mike Billand for refusing to contest the election, denied that there was enough voter fraud for Biden and the Democrats to have stolen it.

“There’s certain states with problems, but don’t kid yourself into believing that’s why we lost, it’s not. It’s not!” Crenshaw told the crowd. However, within the crowd was Bobby Piton, the mathematician who testified at the election integrity hearing in Arizona in November last year. Piton, who attended the hearings with Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, said that he would “never ever” have certified the election results, and if he was acting in an official capacity such as the executive of a publicly traded company, he would rather have resigned than done so.

Piton challenged Crenshaw, and told him he was wrong about the extent of voter fraud in the election, starting a back and forth between the two men, with Piton, who is now running for Senate in Illinois, said that he has “plenty of proof” of the fraud, and that Arizona would soon flip back to President Trump. “It won’t, and you’ve got to flip all five states to make it happen,” Crenshaw argued. “It’s just something you’ve got to accept. Is there a lot of voter fraud? Yeah there probably is. Enough that Trump won? Absolutely not. Absolutely not,” he concluded, saying that anyone questioning the fraud was “kidding” themselves.

“It is disgusting to hear denials from a sitting do-nothing and intellectually dishonest Congressman in our House of Representatives, Crenshaw, who has done nothing but shill for the democrats and refuse to even see or hear the evidence of fraud,” said Piton in a statement posted on Facebook. “Crenshaw is so sanctimonious and cocky and represents one of many intellectually dishonest Congressmen in our party who don’t care about freedom and truth,” he added. Liberty loving patriots in Texas needs to jump in and primary Crenshaw!”

The statement further noted that before this exchange had occurred, Crenshaw was questioned about the current state of the southern border and if he “felt anything was going to happen to help solve the big border crisis,” to which he allegedly “threw the Freedom Caucus under the bus and said it was THEIR fault we have nothing done on immigration.” The caucus, currently chaired by Representative Andy Biggs, is the most pro-America First caucus currently in Congress, often focusing on illegal immigration.

Crenshaw has been well-known for previous statements that show he has little to no respect for conservatives ideas, including: standing by Liz Cheney when she called for Trump’s impeachment, cozying up to gun-grabber group Moms Demand Action and claiming critics of red flag laws are “emotional and uninformed”; suggesting Jesus Christ was a fictional character; and siding with Democrats to demand the removal of Confederate statues.

‘Suicide Squad’ star Joel Kinnaman under investigation for rape

“Suicide Squad” star Joel Kinnaman is under investigation for rape in Sweden — but the actor claims the accusation comes from an obsessed woman seeking revenge over a restraining order.

The public prosecutor announced Wednesday they were investigating the allegation against Kinnaman, TMZ first reported.

But the actor’s legal team told The Post the alleged victim, a Swedish model, only stepped forward with the accusation after Kinnaman had gone to the police himself and gotten the restraining order.

Kinnaman claimed in a recent social media thread that he was being extorted by model Gabriella Magnusson, who goes by the name Bella Davis. On Friday, Kinnaman filed an extortion complaint against her in Sweden and got a restraining order against her in Los Angeles, his attorney Patricia Glaser told The Post.

Charles fears Andrew 'rape' accusation is 'unsolvable problem' that will consign his brother to the wilderness whatever its outcome – amid family concerns over Duke's continued policy of silence

Prince Charles believes brother will not return to public life after facing sex allegations, according to a source

Charles is among the senior royals who have privately expressed concern over the legal crisis engulfing duke

Charles, along with son William, are both said to be concerned about way allegations against Andrew handled

Virginia Roberts Giuffre's attorney began civil proceedings against the duke in New York earlier this week

Prince Charles believes his brother will never return to public life, it was reported last night.

Andrew would be consigned to the wilderness – whatever the outcome of the lawsuit he now faces – because of the reputational damage done by his links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The future king is among the senior royals who have privately expressed concern over the handling of the Duke of York's latest legal crisis as it emerged it could overshadow the Queen's historic Platinum Jubilee.

A source told The Times: 'The prince loves his brother and has the ability to have sympathy for the slings and arrows that his brother endures, whatever the reasons may be.'

The source added: 'However, this will be unwelcome reputational damage to the institution.

'He has long ago concluded that it is probably an unsolvable problem.'

The Daily Mail understands that both Charles and Prince William have doubts about the way such serious allegations have been dealt with by Andrew and his legal team.

More than 48 hours after Virginia Roberts Giuffre's attorney in the US began civil proceedings accusing the 61-year-old royal of 'rape in the first degree', sexual battery and sexual abuse, there has been no reaction from Andrew's camp.
