Top Atlanta-Area Elementary School BUSTED for Segregating Students Based on Race

A black mother is demanding answers after her daughter’s elementary school segregated classrooms by their skin color.

Undoubtedly fueled by CRT, the separation was designed to give black students “more opportunities.” by removing them from their white peers so they can “learn better.”

The Atlanta school had two classes for black students and six for white students.

Kila Posey filed a federal discrimination complaint with the Department of Education after the Principal of Mary Lin Elementary School, who is also black, placed her second grader in one of the school’s “black only” classes.

She spoke with WSBTV about the appalling series of events that left her in “disbelief.”

“First it was disbelief that I was having this conversation in 2020 with a person that looks just like me – a black woman. Its segregating classrooms. You cannot segregate classrooms. You can’t do it,” Posey told WSBTV.

Posey had only been made aware of the Jim-Crow-style situation after she was told by the principal, Sharyn Briscoe, that her daughter wasn’t allowed to join a specific teacher’s class.

“She said that’s not one of the black classes, and i immediately said, ‘what does that mean?’ I was confused. I asked for more clarification. I was like ‘we have those in the school?’ And she proceeded to say, ‘yes. I have decided that i am going to place all of the black students in two classes”

When the outraged mother insisted that her daughter be put in a class with the white students anyways, she was menacingly told that her child would be “isolated.”

“I explained to her she shouldn’t be isolated or punished because I’m unwilling to go along with your illegal and unethical practice.

She said she was building community with the black families and i explained to her ‘thats not your job.”

‘One of The Toughest Challenges’: DHS Chief Mayorkas Says 212,672 Migrants Encountered In July

US border agencies, overwhelmed by an immigration wave over the last few months, encountered some 188,000 migrants in June and 172,000 in May, a notable increase compared with the estimated 78,000 encounters in January.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, while visiting the US border with Mexico in Texas, on Thursday announced a 13-percent increase in migrant encounters over the last month. He said that 212,672 people were encountered by border agents, in comparison with some 188,000 apprehensions in June.

Mayorkas specified that 95,788 migrants were deported under the Title 42 public health protections that authorize the Border Patrol to rapidly expel people from countries with high COVID rates and a poor pandemic response. In June, 104,907 migrants were turned away under Title 42.

Mayorkas, who earlier faced a motion from a GOP congressman to be impeached, admitted that the situation at the border was worrying, describing it as "one of the toughest challenges we face."

"It is complicated, changing and involves vulnerable people at a time of a global pandemic," he said. "The increase is most certainly sharper over the last several months and greater than in June."

On Thursday, Mayorkas held a press conference in Brownsville, Texas, during an official visit to the border, also meeting with top local Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials.

Multiple waves of migrants have been approaching the southern US border since 2020, not only forced to leave their countries due to political instability and deep economic hardship caused in part by natural disasters and a global pandemic, but also attracted by Biden’s relaxed immigration policies.

Taiwan Scrambles Fighter Jets After Six Chinese Warplanes Enter Its Air Defense Identification Zone

Six Chinese military aircraft, including fighter jets, entered Taiwan's southwestern air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Thursday, amid unconfirmed reports that a French frigate was spotted near Taiwan's west coast. According to a report from Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND), the Chinese aircraft involved included one Y-8 electric warfare aircraft, one Y-8 electronic signals intelligence aircraft, and four J-16 multi-role fighters.

Taiwan's Air Force responded by scrambling planes to monitor the Chinese aircraft, issuing radio warnings and mobilizing air defense assets until the Chinese planes left the area, the MND said according to the Focus Taiwan website.

All of the aircraft were spotted in airspace southwest of Taiwan, between Taiwan and the Taiwanese-held Dongsha Islands, an MND chart showed. The airspace is considered by Taiwan to be part of its ADIZ, an area declared by a country to allow it to identify, locate and control approaching foreign aircraft, but such zones are not considered territorial airspace.

Although it has become an almost daily routine for Chinese warplanes to fly into Taiwan's ADIZ over the past two years, such sorties have only happened on three days this month – Aug 8, 11 and 12, according to MND records.

The Chinese military maneuvers on Thursday came after unconfirmed reports that the French frigate FS Provence was spotted by MarineTraffic, a ship tracking website, in waters off Changhua County in western Taiwan. A local Coast Guard unit first confirmed the report but later retracted it via a press release. However, on Thursday evening the French's Defense Ministry said no French military vessels are deployed in the Taiwan Strait at present, in answer to a query from CNA.

If a French frigate moored near Taiwan it would likely be seen as a provocation by Beijing, which considers Taiwan to be part of its territory.

The latest Chinese sorties also came two days after Taiwan lauded Lithuania for defying Beijing on the establishment of a "Taiwanese Representative Office" in Lithuania.

China, which sees the name of the office as having sovereignty implication announced on Tuesday that it has decided to recall its ambassador to Lithuania and demanded Lithuania do the same due to the row over the Taiwan office. Responding to Beijing's move, Lithuania's Foreign Ministry said it is "determined to pursue mutually beneficial ties with Taiwan like many other countries in the European Union and the rest of the world do," in line with the One China principle.

Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for its part, lauded Lithuania's "resolute will" to defend freedom and its national dignity.

Wisconsin Democrat Retires, Opens Door for More GOP Gains

Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wisc.) announced he will not seek reelection next year after more than two decades in Congress. He represents a Western Wisconsin swing district carried by former President Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020.

The 3rd District seat Kind has held since 1997 was already a top target for the GOP in 2022.

“Truth is I’ve run out of gas,” the congressman from La Crosse told reporters this week. “Representing the people in your home area in the United States Congress has been unquestionably the greatest honor of my life. But I never intended it to be an honor for my entire life.”

Kind is one of seven House Democrats who represent a district carried by Trump. Rep. Cheri Bustos of Illinois’s 17th — culturally and geographically similar to Kind’s — is another. She announced her retirement in April after a decade in Congress.

Wisconsin’s 3rd is a mix of farms, rolling hills, and manufacturing towns on the Minnesota border along the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers. Even before Kind won 25 years ago, Republicans held the seat for all but two terms going back to 1908.

In 2016, Kind ran unopposed, and he rolled to reelection by 19 points two years later. However, Kind defeated first-time candidate Derrick Van Orden by fewer than 3 percentage points last fall. Van Orden, a retired United States Navy SEAL and Republican, plans to run again.

Kind recently came under fire for renting out a massage parlor to a woman who “lost her occupational license in another state after local police linked her to human trafficking and prostitution,” the Washington Free Beacon reported last month.

Between attrition, redistricting, history, and political reality, it seems a “red wave” is already commencing.

Deadly Lambda variant could be neutralizing vaccines, new study says

As the US struggles to suppress the rapidly advancing coronavirus Delta variant, new evidence has emerged that the latest Lambda mutation — ravaging parts of South America — won’t be slowed by vaccines.

In a July 28 report appearing on bioRxiv, where the study awaits peer review prior to getting published, researchers in Japan are sounding the alarm on the C.37 variant, dubbed Lambda. And it’s proven just as virulent as Delta thanks to a similar mutation making them even more contagious.

The strain has been contained in 26 countries, including substantial outbreaks in Chile, Peru, Argentina and Ecuador.

“Notably, the vaccination rate in Chile is relatively high; the percentage of the people who received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine was [about] 60%,” the authors write.

“Nevertheless, a big COVID-19 surge has occurred in Chile in Spring 2021, suggesting that the Lambda variant is proficient in escaping from the antiviral immunity elicited by vaccination,” they warn.

The Lambda variant is thought to have emerged somewhere in South America between November and December 2020, and has since turned up in countries throughout Europe, North America and a few more isolated cases in Asia, according to GISAID data.

Mass shooting horror in Plymouth, southwest England

“Multiple fatalities” have been reported after a gunman opened fire in Plymouth, UK, with warnings of a “grim day” for the city.

Police have confirmed a number of people have died in Plymouth, southwest England, after a gunman opened fire.

Armed police rushed to the Keyham suburb after locals said they heard “gunshots”.

Police responded to a “serious firearms” incident in Biddick Dr, in the Keyham area of Plymouth at 6.10pm today (Thursday 12 August), a spokesman confirmed.

“Officers and ambulance staff attended,” the spokesman told PlymouthLive.

“There have been a number of fatalities at the scene and several other casualties are receiving treatment.

“A critical incident has been declared.

“The area has been cordoned off and police believe the situation is contained.”

South Western Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics attended the scene and would be giving updates on the situation.

Residents reportedly heard “gun shots” and “loud bangs” before the emergency services were on scene.

The incident is not believed to be terror-related.

Dozens of locals have reported a “shooting” online, with footage circulating online appearing to show a bloodied victim on the ground surrounded by armed police.

In one video posted to social media an armed officer can be heard telling members of the public to “walk away” from the scene.

Police have urged the public not to share videos on social media.

Police dogs are also on scene searching the area within the cordon.

‘A grim day’

Local MPs have described the situation as “very serious”, adding that it is a “grim day” for the community.

Luke Pollard MP said: “There looks to be a very serious situation happening in Keyham. Please can everyone stay safe, stay indoors and follow police advice.

“Awaiting confirmation of number of victims but this looks like a very grim day for our city and our community.

“Please can I ask that you think of the families and our community and not share any images or videos of any of the victims.”

A man wearing a “Gays For Trump” shirt yelled “Rot in hell, you son of a bitch” into the camera when asked what message he would send to Cuomo.

Other highlights include one man screaming “Cuomo you put pineapple on yo pizza and you get no py,” and another exclaiming, “You’re next DeBlasio, you’re fing next, we on yo ass boy, we on yo ass boy.” Another man screamed even louder, “Cuomo, you thought you’d get away with this st, when I see you, I’m gonna grab you by yo f**in’ neck.”

The crowd also cheered on a man wearing a Donald Trump costume with a black wave cap, and chanted in unison, “Cuomo get no py, Cuomo get no py,” an accusation which seemed strange given that the embattled former governor faced accusations of using his position of power to touch women sexually.

As National File previously reported last week, Democrat President Joe Biden got into a heated exchange with a CNN reporter when questioned over his effusive praise for Cuomo:

“Can I quickly follow up on your comment on Governor Cuomo?” Collins demanded during a presser on Tuesday. “Can you really say he has done ‘a hell of a job’ if he’s accused of sexually harassing women on the job?”

“Look, you’re asking two different questions,” Biden shot back. “Now, I asked the substantive – should he remain as governor is one question. And women should be believed when they make accusations that are on the face of them if they make sense, and investigate them, and if they’re investigated and the judgement was made that what they said was correct. That’s one thing. The question is, did he do a good job on infrastructure? That was the question. He did.”

“The question was how he did as a governor,” Collins snapped. “He was accused of sexually harassing.” She then asked Biden to if he could separate Cuomo’s policies from his personal conduct, to which Biden replied, “No, I’m not, I’m trying to answer a specific question. I was asked a specific question. What do you want to ask me specifically?”
