>Any anons follow Dave Ramsey or Larry Burkett's financial advice?
Sort of. I used a similar technique before discovering Dave Ramsey. If you have the discipline to give up fast food and nearly all eating out, vacations, cable, smoking etc and simply focus on basics for 3-5 years you will get more out of it than being debt free. It's well fucking worth it. Just add up ONLY your monthy debt payments in your head and imagine ALL that money going into your own savings. Became debt free in 2017 so I no longer imagine it. I'll never borrow money again either.

>I have a mortgage and when I have saved enough to pay it off, and still have about 20k left, I will.
You don't 'save' to pay it off. You pay it off every month. Send every spare fucking penny you can scrounge up and apply it to principal every month. If you're not familiar with Ramsey, look into it. All it takes is discipline. No need to spend a penny on Ramsey's course or materials either.
Gold is the money of kings. Silver is the money of gentleman. Debt is the money of slaves. You do have a choice.
