The numbers of COVID patients in hospitals has gone way up. What they won’t tell us though is that this is most likely due to the vaccine. Viruses don’t typically flare up in the summer as they tend to thrive in cold weather, but we’ve had a significant increase in people getting vaccinated that correlates with the surge in COVID cases. COVID was on the decline prior to the vaccine being widely disseminated, even during the winter months. Also, I have seen where the media is running stories about children’s units being at full capacity. The implication is that children are suddenly getting COVID at an alarming rate. However, most of the uptick in hospitalized children is due to a surge in RSV cases, not COVID. My wife is an RN in the emergency room (since March) and was on a COVID unit prior to that and she said she has never seen a single child test positive for COVID. I’m no doctor but I suspect the surge in RSV cases among children has a lot to do with wearing masks and being isolated due to lockdowns for an entire year. I believe this took a huge toll on everyone’s immune systems (those who complied anyway) and now children, who are more prone to having a bad outcome with RSV, a very serious respiratory condition for children and the elderly, are paying the price. I think the RSV may well tie in with the vaccines as well. Mommy gets vax, vax causes respiratory issues, respiratory issues are contagious, little Johnny gets exposed, little Johnny gets RSV.

Agreed. Crowds are harder to control than you might think. There is so much cognitive dissonance among the general population and, due to a inadequate mental health resources in this country, some patients that come in are extremely difficult and cause the care providers to have to do so much more work, and not for whatever health problems they’re experiencing but just to try and contain them because of their erratic behavior. They can be extremely difficult to deal with and dealing with them takes up so much of the care providers time and effort, that it creates a bottleneck. The next time you or someone you know waits n an ER for several hours, you probably have some crazed junkie(s), who should really be in a mental health facility, to thank. Sad but oh so true.
