Lorne Michaels, Jimmy Fallon Mentioned in Child Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Ex-SNL Star Horatio Sanz

A new lawsuit filed on Thursday with the State of New York alleges horrifying and predatory actions of a former cast member at NBC’s Saturday Night Live against an underage girl — and the appearance of complicity among his associates.

The unnamed plaintiff alleges that comedian Horatio Sanz “groomed” her, starting at the age of 15, and repeatedly sexually assaulted her after she attended multiple SNL cast parties. The allegations include digital communications purported to be between Saenz and the teenager obtained by law enforcement.

According to court documents, the SNL “super-fan” teen would regularly post on a fan page that was read by SNL cast members which allowed Sanz to gain access to her. She was first contacted by Sanz, who was 31 at the time, in January 2000 via his work email account as he sat in NBC offices with Jimmy Fallon. By October of that year, he had lured her to meet him in person for the first time.

“In January, 2000, Defendant SANZ and co-cast member Jimmy Fallon emailed Plaintiff (then 15) from an NBC email account. Thereafter, Defendant SANZ began his process of grooming Plaintiff.

On or about October 7-8, 2000, Plaintiff (15) and Defendant SANZ met in person at NBC after an airing/taping of Saturday Night Live, during which SANZ (31) was flirtatious and physically affectionate with the then 15-year old Plaintiff by kissing her cheek and putting his hands on her waist.

After a few more meet-ups, Sanz brought the plaintiff to several after-show parties where he and other staff members, who allegedly knew the girl was underage, allowed her to drink. His associates watched and said nothing as Saenz touched her inappropriately and told her “to sit on his lap,” according to the lawsuit.

On or around May 19, 2001, Plaintiff (16) was again permitted by SNL cast members to attend an after party of NBC and SNL Studios within NBC studios where she was shown around the facility.

On this date, while in the SNL offices, Defendant SANZ was sitting on a couch telling stories to a group of approximately 6-10 people, including NBC employees, when Defendant SANZ signaled Plaintiff over and guided her to sit on his lap with her legs positioned between his legs and his arm around her hips, waist and buttocks where he continued to tell stories.

The lawsuit recounts an especially damning exchange involving Jimmy Fallon and SNL creator Lorne Michaels. In 2001, at a late night afterparty, they both spoke with the teenager as they partied in a VIP area.

It stretches credulity to suggest they didn’t know she was too young to be drinking, let alone be in the orbit of a seemingly predatory older man. It is alleged that she specifically told Fallon that she was in high school which prompted the entire group to discuss her upcoming junior year SAT test.

On November 17, 2001, Defendant SANZ put Plaintiff on his guest list for the SNL after party for that night, as he would continue to do. Plaintiff sat with Jimmy Fallon and others in a VIP area, ordered and consumed a Budweiser beer in the presence of NBC/SNL employees. Plaintiff sat with Jimmy Fallon and they shared calamari.

At the party, Plaintiff told Jimmy Fallon she was in high school to which he commented: “So you have a few years before you graduate” and asked Plaintiff what she intended to study in college. They also discussed Plaintiff’s upcoming SAT. The people seated at the table became very quiet when Plaintiff disclosed she was a junior in high school.

At the party, Fallon also introduced Plaintiff to show producer Lorne Michaels and they discussed Plaintiff’s Jimmy Fallon website.

At least 29 dead in devastating Haiti earthquake – authorities

At least 29 people have died following a magnitude 7.2 earthquake in Haiti. The death toll is a provisional figure and will likely rise, as buildings in several towns have been leveled.

Haitian civil protection official Jerry Chandler announced the death toll in a press conference on Saturday, hours after a magnitude 7.2 earthquake shook the island nation’s southern peninsula.

17 of these deaths were recorded in the region of Grand-Anse, nine in the town of Cayes, and three in the area of Nippes, where the quake’s epicenter was located, officials added.

The death toll will likely rise as search and rescue efforts continue. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) issued a red alert for estimated casualties, stating that “high casualties are probable and the disaster is likely widespread.”

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry has declared a state of emergency for one month, and said earlier that he would mobilize “all the resources” of his administration to help, while, in Washington, President Joe Biden has authorized a US response under USAID Administrator Samantha Power.

Buildings collapsed and streets were littered with debris in several Haitian towns, while the shockwave was felt as far afield as Cuba and Jamaica.

Russian firefighting plane battling wild blazes in Turkey crashes after dropping water on flames, killing all crew and passengers

A Russian jet specially equipped to fight catastrophic wildfires has crashed into the side of a mountain in Turkey while assisting local teams, with officials in Moscow reporting that all eight people on board died in the wreck.

The Beriev Be-200 amphibious plane, which is capable of taking water from natural sources and releasing it over smoldering blazes, crashed in Turkey’s southern region of Marash on Saturday. According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, the plane had five Russian servicemen and three Turkish officials on board.

A Ruptly livestream showed protesters chanting slogans and singing songs as they snaked their way through Paris. Many were sporting the iconic garb worn by supporters of the anti-austerity Yellow Vest movement, which over the past several years has caused considerable trouble for President Emmanuel Macron. Others waved flags and carried custom-made signs and banners calling for a return to “liberty.”

The march marked the fifth straight week of demonstrations held in Paris and other French cities. According to one popular Twitter account that has documented the weeks of demonstrations, dozens of events took place across France and its territories.

France recently introduced a compulsory vaccination regime for healthcare workers and other groups, as well as a digital vaccination ID required from all citizens for entrance to museums, movie theaters, swimming pools and other centers. The pass is also required for indoor and outdoor dining, a policy that has been visibly contested by Parisians. In an act of growing defiance, unauthorized ‘pop-up’ street venues have attracted huge crowds – as well as attention from the police.

Outrage as NY Democrats refuse to pursue Cuomo impeachment, say constitution does not allow for it after his resignation

New York’s Democrat-controlled legislature has halted an impeachment probe into Governor Andrew Cuomo, arguing his impending resignation will make the procedure illegal, while clearing the way for a potential reelection bid.

The state’s Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D) announced the move on Friday, noting that all impeachment proceedings against Cuomo would be dropped after the governor said he would step down earlier this week, in the wake of sexual harassment allegations.

“After consulting with [Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Lavine] and my majority colleagues, the assembly will suspend its impeachment investigation upon the governor’s resignation taking effect on August 25,” Heastie said in a statement.

We have been advised… of the belief that the constitution does not authorize the legislature to impeach and remove an elected official who is no longer in office.

While Heastie said the Judiciary Committee was unable to “complete” its work, he argued that it uncovered “credible evidence” in relation to the sexual assault claims leading to Cuomo’s resignation, as well as the governor’s alleged “misuse of state resources” and “misleading disclosure” regarding the state’s nursing home deaths amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This evidence – we believe – could likely have resulted in articles of impeachment had he not resigned,” the speaker continued, adding that he directed Lavine to turn over all relevant materials to other bodies investigating the governor’s use of public resources and his administration’s Covid-19 response.

More than two-thirds of the state Judiciary Committee urged the body to release a public report on its findings, but Heastie argued that could interfere with other ongoing probes, according to Associated Press reporter Marina Villeneuve. She noted that the speaker did not explain how.

Though Cuomo is set to leave office early by the end of the month, the closure of the impeachment proceedings means he could again seek the governorship if he so chose. While no New York governor has ever reclaimed the position after resigning in disgrace, that hasn’t stopped some from trying.

A recent poll by Slingshot Strategies, moreover, suggested that a significant plurality of New York Democrats would vote to make Cuomo governor again over a number of major political figures in the state. Though the results were collected a few days prior to the governor’s August 10 resignation announcement, the survey came after the state AG issued her findings on Cuomo and sexual harassment.

UK police watchdog investigating cops over return of Plymouth shooter's gun & permit

The UK’s police watchdog has opened an investigation into the police force that returned a gun and a permit to the shooter who went on to kill five people and himself in Plymouth, southwest England.

Jake Davison, 22, gunned down five people in the port city of Plymouth on Thursday. He killed two men, two women – including his mother – and a toddler, before turning his weapon on himself.

Attention has now turned to Davison’s troubled history, as well as his firearms ownership. He allegedly posted on ‘incel’ forums online, describing his struggles with the opposite sex, and had his shotgun and permit taken off him last December following an allegation of assault. However, Devon and Cornwall Police reinstated his licence and returned his weapon last month after Davison completed an anger management course.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) announced on Friday that it will investigate the circumstances surrounding the police force’s reinstatement of Davison’s licence.

“We will examine what police actions were taken and when, the rationale behind police decision-making, and whether relevant law, policy and procedures were followed concerning Mr Davison’s possession of a shotgun,” read a statement from IOPC regional director David Ford.

“The investigation will also consider whether the force had any information concerning Mr Davison’s mental health and if so, if this information was appropriately considered.”

Davison’s rampage was the worst mass shooting to hit the UK since 2010, when taxi driver Derrick Bird shot and killed 12 people in Cumbria.

BBC accuses Russia of ‘assault on media freedom’ after correspondent’s visa is denied following UK sanctions

Russia’s refusal to extend the visa of BBC correspondent Sarah Rainsford is an attack on media freedom, the British state broadcaster has claimed. Moscow had said it would retaliate to the UK imposition of ‘Magnitsky’ sanctions.

“The expulsion of Sarah Rainsford is a direct assault on media freedom which we condemn unreservedly,” BBC Director-General Tim Davie said on Friday. “Sarah is an exceptional and fearless journalist,” who provided “independent and in-depth reporting of Russia and the former Soviet Union.”

Davie urged Russia to “reconsider” the decision and vowed to “report events in the region independently and impartially.”

Rainsford also referred to her situation as “being expelled from Russia,” and said it was “devastating” to have to leave the country in which she’d lived for almost a third of her life.

According to multiple media outlets, the Russian authorities declined Rainsford’s application to renew her visa, which is set to expire on August 31.

While the Russian Foreign Ministry has declined to comment, Bloomberg News claimed that the move was part of Moscow’s tit-for-tat response to restrictions imposed on Russian citizens by the UK earlier this week.

London on Monday blacklisted 25 Russian officials and nationals, citing the case of Sergey Magnitsky, an accountant who died in prison in 2009. His associate Bill Browder – a hedge-fund manager wanted in Russia on charges of tax evasion, murder and other crimes – has since lobbied Western capitals to impose “human rights” sanctions against Russia, alleging that Magnitsky was tortured and denied proper medical care in prison. Russia has rejected the accusations as fabricated and spurious.

Moscow responded by saying it would “impose personal sanctions on a commensurate number of UK representatives who are closely involved in anti-Russian activities,” in retaliation “to the unfriendly actions of the British authorities and on the basis of the principle of reciprocity.”

Police Cite Pennsylvania Democrat For Hitting Anti-Mask Protester In The Head With ‘Masks Save Lives’ Sign

New Britain Township Supervisor Cynthia Jones (D) was issued a non-traffic citation for summary harassment.

An elected Democrat was cited after allegedly striking a photographer with a sign during a pro-mask demonstration in Bucks County, PA. A video of the incident appears to show Cynthia Jones, who serves as a New Britain Township Supervisor, striking a woman on the head with a “Masks Save Lives” sign. The incident took place during a July 27 demonstration in support of a mask mandate for the Central Bucks school district.

The video was captured by the Bucks County news feed and amplified by the Reopen Bucks County group. It appears to show Jones standing in front of two women, one of which is a photographer, in an attempt to block her from taking photos of the event. When the photographer, identified as Megan Brock, moved forward, Jones appears to hit her over the head with the “Masks Save Lives” sign from behind. “This woman just hit me, she just hit me on the head!” the Brock can be heard shouting.

Bucks County resident Jamie Walker witnessed the assault. “She came up behind her and hit her over the head with the sign, I saw the whole thing,” Walker told National File. Walker can be seen towards the bottom left hand of the frame, standing next to the photographer. Walker is one of the women Jones attempted to block.

In the days following the incident, an unidentified group or individual posted a bizarre video containing social media posts from Brock. The video contained social media posts along with a clip of Brock yelling at Jones. The clip starts just after Brock had been hit with the sign and insinuates that she was randomly yelling at Jones. “When she isn’t defying the Governor’s orders…. Megan Brock is: An anti-masker, self proclaimed ‘Trump Chump’, loves to doxx people and businesses,” proclaims text in the video.

Top Democrats Took Massive Donations from Big Tech as They Considered Anti-Trust Legislation.

As the US Congress considered legislation which could “reshape” the Big Tech industry in recent months, the biggest tech companies in America gave very large donations to key Democrat Party lawmakers.

The tech industry was opposed to antitrust legislation, which would, if passed into law, make it “easier for regulators to break up tech giants.” Besides the huge donations, tech companies “lobbied Senate leaders to prioritize a bill to provide $52 billion toward U.S. semiconductor manufacturing.”

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY), according to April-June Federal Election Commission filings, received the largest donations from the tech companies’ executives. Over two dozen executives from Microsoft gave over $116,000 combined to the Schumer campaign in June. Among these executives, 13 gave the maximum legally allowed donation, $5,800. Two of the max-out donors were Microsoft President Brad Smith and also Fred Humphries, who leads Microsoft’s Washington lobbying team.

A Microsoft spokesperson has insisted, “These were contributions made by executives in their personal capacity.”

Schumer will be running for reelection in 2022 and is currently leading the legislative efforts of Democrats while “simultaneously raising big money to ward off potential primary challengers.” Between April and June, Schumer raised a record of over $11.5 million. According to The Hill:

“Google executives and its PAC donated nearly $92,000 to Schumer’s campaign in the second quarter of 2021. Cisco Systems executives gave nearly $100,000. Apple executives gave $28,000. Executives at Microsoft, Cisco and Apple previously had not made large donations to Schumer through the first three months of the year.”

Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.), who also received many donations from tech executives, is running for reelection in 2022 as well and is the number three Democrat in the Senate. Murray was given about $67,000 in total from the Amazon PAC and Amazon employees and about $48,000 from Microsoft.

Amazon lobbied the Senate, successfully, to pass a bipartisan bill “to bolster U.S. competitiveness with China” without requiring the collection and verification of third-party sellers’ information by online retailers. The Semiconductors in America Coalition was formed in May by Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Cisco to make sure that billions for semiconductor manufacturing were included in this same bill and that other industries, for instance carmakers, did not receive priority for the production of semiconductors.

“Federal investments in semiconductor technology will help ensure more of the chips America needs are produced on U.S. soil and accessible to the many critical sectors of the U.S. economy that depend on them, benefiting American workers, businesses, and consumers,” the tech coalition commented after the bill was passed.

Biden Admin Says Federal Funds Can Be Used To Pay Florida School Employees Who Buck Mask Mandate Ban

President Joe Biden’s administration announced Friday that if school districts are unable to use state funding for defying Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ mask ban mandate, they can use federal relief money instead.

U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona highlighted the news in a letter to DeSantis and Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran, according to Politico. Cardona chastised DeSantis, who previously issued an order banning mask mandates for schools and has threatened to withhold employee’s salaries.

“I am deeply concerned about Florida’s July 30 Executive Order prohibiting school districts from adopting universal masking policies consistent with CDC guidance,” Cardona wrote in the letter. “Moreover, on August 9, the Governor’s spokesperson released a statement specifying that in cases where school districts adopt masking policies consistent with CDC guidance, ‘the State Board of Education could move to withhold the salary of the district superintendent or school board members.’ The Governor’s Office appeared to further clarify that penalties could take the forms of fines on a school district.”

“As mentioned in my call to Commissioner Corcoran on August 4, we are eager to partner with FL DOE [Florida Department of Education] on any efforts to further our shared goals of protecting the health and safety of students and educator,” the letter continued. “If FL DOE does not wish to pursue such an approach, the Department will continue to work directly with the school districts and educators that serve Florida’s students.”

Christina Pushaw, a spokeswoman for DeSantis, condemned the Biden administration for trying to spend money on employees “who don’t believe that parents have a right to choose what’s best for their children.” Pushaw suggested the funds “should be used” on “Florida’s students,” Politico reported.

CDC Recommends Additional Dose of Coronavirus Vaccine in Immunocompromised People

Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), on Friday signed CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation for certain individuals to receive another dose of the two-dose mRNA vaccines.

According to the release, the CDC is recommending those with “moderately to severely compromised immune systems” get an additional shot after the completion of the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna series. The move coincides with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruling that “transplant recipients and other similarly immune-compromised patients can get a third dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.”

“Today’s action allows doctors to boost immunity in certain immunocompromised individuals who need extra protection from COVID-19,” the FDA’s acting commissioner Dr. Janet Woodcock said in a statement.

Walensky’s release estimates the percentage of immunocompromised people to comprise roughly three percent of the U.S. adult population. It also cites “small” studies suggesting that immunocompromised people have accounted for 40 to 44 percent of breakthrough cases requiring hospitalization:

While people who are immunocompromised make up about 3% of the U.S. adult population, they are especially vulnerable to COVID-19 because they are more at risk of serious, prolonged illness. Included in CDC’s recommendation are people with a range of conditions, such as recipients of organ or stem cell transplants, people with advanced or untreated HIV infection, active recipients of treatment for cancer, people who are taking some medications that weaken the immune system, and others. A full list of conditions can be found on CDC’s website. The additional dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine should be the same vaccine as the initial series and administered at least four weeks after completing a primary mRNA COVID-19 vaccine series. While vaccination is likely to increase protection in this population, even after vaccination, people who are immunocompromised should continue follow current prevention measures (including wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart from others they do not live with, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces) to protect themselves and those around them against COVID-19 until advised otherwise by their healthcare provider. CDC does not recommend additional doses or booster shots for any other population at this time.

“At a time when the Delta variant is surging, an additional vaccine dose for some people with weakened immune systems could help prevent serious and possibly life-threatening COVID-19 cases within this population,” Walensky added.

This is not the first time officials have floated additional doses of the two-dose vaccine series. Last month, Pfizer representatives met with top U.S. health officials to outline plans to request federal authorization for an additional dose of its vaccine. Months prior to that, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said it was like a third shot would be needed for fully vaccinated people.

“Every year, you need to go to get your flu vaccine,” Bourla said at the time. “It’s going to be the same with COVID. In a year, you will have to go and get your annual shot for COVID to be protected.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci followed suit, suggesting a third jab is “likely.”

Gillian ‘Gill’ Sturgeon, sister of First Minister of the Scottish Government and SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon, has been arrested over an alleged domestic incident.

The 46-year-old sibling to the left-separatist political leader has been charged and released ahead of a court appearance, according to a report in the Irvine Times confirmed by national outlets including The Scotsman and The Herald.

“A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an incident that took place within a house in Kilwinning on Saturday August 7,” the police force for Scotland has confirmed in an official but detail-light statement,

“He was released on an undertaking to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal,” they added, in reference Scotland’s public prosecution service.

“On Wednesday, 11 August, a 46-year-old woman was arrested and charged following a report made on Tuesday, 10 August regarding an incident that took place within a house in Kilwinning on Saturday, 7 August,” the statement continued, in reference to Gillian Sturgeon this time, reports claim.

“She has been released on an undertaking to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

The exact nature of the incident in question remains unclear as of the time of publication.

ew Zealand’s parliament took down a historic portrait of Sir Winston Churchill in response to Green Party lobbying, with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern brushing the incident off with a flat “I don’t care.”

“We wanted a painting outside the Green Party offices that was more representative of the values that we stand for,” said Green Party co-leader James Shaw, claiming in comments reported by Stuff that their primary issue with the late prime minister was his supposed foreignness.

“Sir Winston Churchill, the greatest anti-fascist leader of the 20th century is removed from the walls of Parliament because the Greens don’t like him,” lamented Judith Collins, a New Zealand National Party politician representing Papakura, on social media.

New Zealand premier Jacinda Ardern, of the left-wing Labour Party, raised no objection to the portrait’s removal, dismissing it as an issue of no consequence.

Biden State Department official DELETES Tweet 'thinking about all the Afghan women and girls' saying 'we empowered them to lead, now we are powerless to help them'

A high-ranking State Department official wrote in a now-deleted tweet that Afghan women 'stand to lose everything' in Afghanistan as the Taliban swiftly advance toward total control of the nation and US forces take their exit.

'Woke up with a heavy heart, thinking about all the Afghan women and girls I worked with during my time in Kabul. They were the beneficiaries of many of the gains we made, and now they stand to lose everything. We empowered them to lead, now we are powerless to protect them,' Molly Montgomery, US Deputy Assistant Secretary in Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, wrote on Twitter Friday morning.

Montgomery previously worked at the US embassy in Kabul.

On Friday insurgents captured another four provincial capitals in southern Afghanistan as they encircle the capital Kabul. Taliban now control 16 of 34 provincial capitals in the nation, including the second and third larges cities after Kabul.

Just three major cities are believed to be under government control, and the terrorists are now in a position to advance on Kabul.

Taliban fighters are going door-to-door and forcibly marrying girls as young as 12 and forcing them into sex slavery as they seize vast swathes of the Afghanistan from government forces, according to reports on the ground.

Jihadist commanders have ordered imams in areas they have captured to bring them lists of unmarried women aged from 12 to 45 for their soldiers to marry because they view them as 'qhanimat' or 'spoils of war' - to be divided up among the victors.

Fighters have then been going door-to-door to claim their 'prizes', even looking through the wardrobes of families to establish the ages of girls before forcing them into a life of sexual servitude.

Amnesty International, an international human rights NGO, warned in May that the US's 'unconditional withdrawal' of forces, together with intra-Afghan peace talks where no women were represented, could unravel two decades of hard-won progress for women.

Under Taliban rule from 1996 to 2001, Afghani women were subject to harsh restrictions - they were banned from working outside the home and could not even appear in public without a close male relative. They had to wear full body coverings. Since the Taliban were deposed, women's rights, particularly in urban areas, drastically improved - women no longer had to wear the full body coverings, known as chadaree.

The US negotiated its exit with the Taliban in February 2020, promising to withdraw its forces if the Islamist group did not attack them, but did not mention human rights. It left other factors to be negotiated between the Taliban and Afghani government.

California Parent Sends Elementary School Teacher to the Hospital After Fight About Masks

A California parent allegedly left an elementary school teacher bruised and bloodied after a fight about masks on Wednesday.

The incident took place at Sutter Creek Elementary School at the end of the first day back.

“The teacher was bleeding,” Amador County Unified School District Superintendent Torie Gibson told KCRA 3. “He had some lacerations on his face, some bruising on his face, and a pretty good knot on the back of his head.”

Gibson explained that the father was outraged and yelled at the school’s principal when he saw his daughter walk out of the building wearing a mask. When a male teacher stepped in, the situation escalated to an actual fight.

The school’s policy is that everyone needs to wear masks, but teachers who have proved they are fully vaccinated can take off their mask indoors if students are not present, according to the KCRA report.

A letter Gibson sent to families said that “assaulting a staff member will never be tolerated on any school campus” and called for people to “take a breath, pause, listen and walk away if necessary.”

“Remember, we are not the ones making the rules/mandates, we are the ones required to follow/enforce them if we want to keep our doors open and students at school five days a week,” the letter said.

The teacher was treated at the hospital and released that evening.

The parent is no longer allowed on campus, but their child is.

“If it’s appropriate to press charges, we will do that,” Gibson told the local station. “If they tell me it’s not appropriate, I will trust them.”

After Biden Botches Afghanistan, DHS Warns of New Terror Threat

All the progress made by President Trump in the War on Terror seems to have been magically erased by Joe Biden, as the Department of Homeland Security issued a new terrorist threat alert on Friday, reports the Washington Times. According to the report, DHS has detected “signs of life in al Qaeda ahead of the 20th anniversary of the 2001 terror attacks.”

“The signs of life included the Islamist terrorist organization issuing its first new magazine in more than four years,” reads the report. “Homeland Security also reiterated its warnings over dangers stemming from what it has come to call racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists. It said that ‘increased societal strains’ during the coronavirus pandemic may spur greater violence from those elements.”

Of course, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security won’t link these signs of life to the Taliban’s nearly complete takeover of Afghanistan, thanks to Biden’s withdrawal. Nope. COVID! Blame COVID! Joe Biden even recently said he does not regret his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan.

“The reopening of institutions, including schools, as well as several dates of religious significance over the next few months, could also provide increased targets of opportunity for violence though there are currently no credible or imminent threats identified to these locations,” DHS says.

Honestly, it’s amazing that Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security even cares. For months now, domestic “radical right-wing extremists” have appeared to be a bigger concern to them than Islamic terrorism. Yet, from where I sit, while the Biden administration has been focusing on throwing the book at anyone remotely connected to the January 6 Capitol riot, Islamic terrorists abroad have seized on the declining situation in Afghanistan, and they are taking full advantage of Biden’s planned withdrawal to come back stronger than ever.

40 indicted, three homes closed in North Memphis drug trafficking bust

Forty people were indicted and three North Memphis homes were shut down after a years-long law enforcement operation into an illegal drug trafficking conspiracy, District Attorney General Amy Weirich announced Wednesday.

The Multi-Agency Gang Unit, comprised of members of Shelby County Sheriff's Department, Memphis Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, District Attorney's Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms among other agencies, have been behind the nearly 3-year-long investigation into what Weirich said was an “uncontrolled danger and a nuisance, serving as a haven for drug-related sales, violence, criminal disturbances, and other dangerous behavior.”
