IMO attention shd be strongly on police, as it should have been with Dunblane. At the time, was very puzzled by Major's knee-jerk over-reaction to what was clearly a police "error". Can't remember reaction to Hungerford. Will be interested to see UKC reaction when they return from hols on 1 Sep.
