Former Gen. Petraeus: Biden Must Take Responsibility for His ‘Catastrophic’ Afghanistan Withdrawal

Americans woke up Sunday to the news that after two decades and the deaths of hundreds of U.S. troops the Taliban terrorists are taking over Afghanistan and President Joe Biden is responsible, one top U.S. general said.

As Taliban warlords surround the capital city of Kabul, Gen. (Ret.) David Petraeus, former commander of U.S. and International Forces in Afghanistan, predicted the debacle.

‘This is an enormous national security setback and it is on the verge of getting much worse unless we decide to take really significant action,’ Petraeus told WABC Radio in a recent interview.

“The outcome, whether it is the Taliban taking over the country or it’s the kind of civil war that we saw in the wake of the collapse of the post-Soviet government, there are no good outcomes here,” Petraeus said. “In fact, there is nothing more than horrible outcomes unless we are willing to acknowledge that this is not going as more optimistic projections laid out and take stock.”

“We are now in a situation where the Taliban are trying to encircle Kabul – a city of 5 or 6 million – before hundreds of thousands of refugees starting flooding into it,” he argued. “If we communicate effectively with the Taliban that they need to halt what they are doing, or we will bring the might of the U.S. military down upon them, we can stop this.”

Petraeus made the remarks after Biden said Afghanistan being taken over by terrorists was “highly unlikely.”

The Daily Mail reported on the development and Biden’s role in a foreign policy disaster people are comparing to the fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War.

Biden announced in a statement Saturday that “approximately 5,000” U.S. soldiers will assist with the evacuation process:

The president has set an August 31 deadline for the competition of the withdrawal. The pentagon estimates that 30,000 people will need to be evacuated in this process. According to Biden, he and his security team made the decision in an effort to ‘protect our interests and values as we end our military mission in Afghanistan.’

Earlier on Sunday, the insurgents captured the eastern city of Jalalabad without a fight, giving them control of one of the main highways into landlocked Afghanistan. They also took over the nearby Torkham border post with Pakistan, leaving Kabul airport the only way out of Afghanistan still in government hands.

After U.S.-led forces withdrew the bulk of their remaining troops in the last month, the Taliban campaign accelerated as the Afghan military’s defenses appeared to collapse.

Biden has been slammed by several Republicans, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who slammed Biden’s “complete mismanagement” of the Afghanistan withdrawal.

“The White House has no discernible plan other than pleading with the Taliban,” McCarthy said. “The bungled withdrawal, reminiscent of his failed withdrawal from Iraq, is an embarrassment to our nation.”

“The fiasco in Afghanistan wasn’t just predictable, it was predicted,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said. “Joe Biden’s ill-planned retreat has now humiliated America and put at risk thousands of Americans left in Kabul.”

Fauci: Unvaccinated Need to ‘Put Aside’ Concerns of Personal Liberty

Chief White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that the vaccine-hesitant should “put aside” their concerns about personal liberty and recognize the “common enemy” is the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fauci said, “What’s coming next is that we are going to have to continue to get people vaccinated so that right now, even in states in which you have a good relative proportion of people vaccinated, you have to get the overwhelming proportion of people vaccinated. But you also have to do mitigation. And that gets to the controversial issue of mask-wearing and the mandating of things mandating of vaccines, for example, for teachers and people in the personnel in the school, but also in situations as uncomfortable as we know and controversial as we know it is with regard to masks wearing, particularly in the situation in schools, we’ve just got to realize that we’re dealing with a public health crisis. And the more you get infections, the more spread you get, the greater opportunity the virus has to continue to evolve and mutate.”

He added, “Right now, we are fortunate in that the vaccines that we have are quite good against the Delta variant, particularly with regard to preventing severe disease with hospitalizations and deaths. We certainly are getting what are called breakthrough infections, which means a person who was vaccinated might get infected and actually may even spread the virus. But in general, those people are not the ones who are getting seriously ill and dying. It’s the unvaccinated that are doing that. So we have a lot of tasks. We’ve got to do mitigation, put aside all of these issues of concern about liberties and personal liberties, and realize we have a common enemy, and that common enemy is the virus. And we really have to all pull together to get on top of this. Otherwise, we’re going to continue to suffer as we’re seeing right now.”

Boris Govt Has ‘Already Resettled Over 3,300 Afghan Staff and Their Families’ in UK as Taliban Take Over

The British government has confirmed that it has “already resettled over 3,300 Afghan staff and their families” in the United Kingdom as the Taliban is poised to overrun the country.

The Home Office, the government department led by Priti Patel MP which is broadly responsible for borders, policing, and national security in Britain, announced on Sunday morning that the Afghans “who have worked for the UK” are already in the country, adding that Boris Johnson’s government “will continue to fulfil our international obligations and moral commitments.”

Breitbart London reported on August 13th that the British government was surging 600 troops back into Afghanistan to help “assist British nationals to leave the country and support the relocation of former Afghan staff who risked their lives serving alongside us”.

The number of British citizens still in the country was estimated at around 4,000 at that time, with the number of Afghans eligible to be evacuated alongside them not entirely clear.

Since then, the situation in the Islamic republic has deteriorated rapidly, with Taliban fighters in the suburbs of the capital of Kabul and reportedly in negotiations with the Western-backed regime for an imminent transfer of power as of the time of publication.

Not all of the British citizens currently in Afghanistan may be interested in being evacuated, however, with security sources having recently disclosed that some of them are fighting alongside the Taliban.

“We have received some intercepts of two British men, probably below 30, talking openly on mobiles,” a senior military intelligence source revealed.

“One had a London accent, what you might call a street accent.”

The British government conceded in a statement that Taliban defectors “pose a very serious national security risk” to the United Kingdom but tried to assuage concerns by saying that “The Home Secretary has a number of powers available to prevent the return of individuals who pose a national security risk to the UK.”

They added that “Those who do return must expect to be investigated by the police,” although the government’s record in successfully prosecuting defectors returning to Britain from Syria and Iraq has been extremely poor.

146,000 Migrants Apprehended in July in Texas-Based Border Sectors — Up 16 Percent from June

Border Patrol agents in the five Texas-based sectors apprehended 146,212 migrants in July who illegally crossed the border from Texas. This represents more than 73 percent of all migrants apprehended last month in the nine southwest border sectors. It also represents an increase of percent over June’s 126,485 apprehensions.

Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Del Rio, Big Bend, and El Paso Sectors apprehended 146,212 migrants in July, according to the Southwest Border Land Encounters report released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection late last week. These include the apprehensions of 61,779 family unit aliens, 15,267 unaccompanied alien children, and 68,666 single adult aliens.

While Texas is host to five of the nine southwest border sectors, the apprehension of migrants in these sectors accounts for 73 percent of the total apprehensions along the U.S.-Mexico border. The July apprehensions also show an increase from one month earlier of 16 percent.

Breitbart Texas reported last month that during the first nine months of Fiscal Year 2021 (which began on October 1, 2020) the Texas-based border sector agents apprehended more than 732,573 migrants. That number now stands at 878,785 apprehensions in ten months.

Agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector in southeast Texas continue to lead all Border Patrol sectors with the apprehension of 80,306 migrants. These include 48,464 family units,20,803 single adults, and 11,036 unaccompanied children.

AZ Audit Preliminary Report To Be Delivered NEXT WEEK

The full forensic audit of Maricopa County’s 2020 election is now producing a preliminary audit report.

The image above was posted to Instagram by @WeThePeopleAZ.

The preliminary report should be released during the week of August 22nd.

It will likely show all of the data and discrepancies that they have compiled to date.

The Arizona Senate and Attorney General Mark Brnovich expect a response from Maricopa County regarding an open investigation into their violation of legal and enforceable subpoenas.

Once subpoenas are enforced, the auditors can move forward with a full forensic analysis of routers, Splunk logs, voting systems, signature verification, voter records, and other security concerns.

In this preliminary report, we can expect to learn more about the discrepancies they are finding in ballot totals, which could be HUGE.

We can also expect to receive updates on the other discrepancies outlined during the Arizona Senate hearing on July 15.

The ballots were counted three different times. First, a hand recount where three counters tallied votes for President and U.S. Senate, with volunteer oversight and 24/7 live stream coverage. Secondly, the paper analysis phase took a 5K image of every single ballot and assigned each ballot its own individual number. Lastly, a paper counting machine was used to count every single ballot and guarantee they did not miss anything.

The most impressive part of this full forensic ballot analysis was the paper analysis phase, which used advanced technology to scan and image the ballots.

This high-resolution imaging will show us whether ballots are real or fake through paper fibers and creases in mail-in ballots.
